Objective:Magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy(MCCG)is an effective method for screening gastric diseases;however,its performance may be affected by gastric cleanliness.We aimed to explore the correlation betwe...Objective:Magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy(MCCG)is an effective method for screening gastric diseases;however,its performance may be affected by gastric cleanliness.We aimed to explore the correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and the degree of gastric cleanliness in the MCCG.Methods:This retrospective study enrolled 297 participants from October 2020 to April 2024 at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine.Participant characteristics,MCCG examination results,and(13)C-urea breath test(C13-UBT)results were collected.The gastric cleanliness in MCCG examinations was assessed using a gastric cleanliness score.Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the relationships among participant characteristics,H.pylori infection,and gastric cleanliness.Chi-square tests and Fisher's exact tests were used to analyze the relationships among gastric lesions,H.pylori infection,and gastric cleanliness.Results:Among the participants,24.2%had H.pylori infection,and 17.5%had poor gastric cleanliness.Hypertension(odds ratio[OR]:2.63;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.36e5.09;p?0.004)was associated with a greater likelihood of H.pylori infection.H.pylori infection(OR:3.76;95%CI:1.99e7.09;p<0.001)was an independent risk factor for poor gastric cleanliness in the MCCG.A significant disparity was noted in the prevalence of focal erosions(p<0.001),gastric ulcers(p?0.001),and positive gastric lesions(p?0.027)between the 2 groups with and without H.pylori infection.The proportion of positive gastric lesions was not significantly different between the good gastric cleanliness group and the poor gastric cleanliness group(25.7%vs.21.2%;p?0.490).Conclusion:The findings of this study revealed that H.pylori infection was associated with hypertension.H.pylori infection may lead to poor gastric cleanliness.Institutions are advised to perform C13-UBT before MCCG,and participants should be informed of the risk of poor gastric cleanliness if the results are positive.The decision to perform H.pylori eradication before MCCG should take into account patient willingness and the benefit-to-risk ratio.展开更多
Alloy-typed anode materials,endowed innately with high theoretical specific capacity,hold great promise as an alternative to intercalation-typed counterparts for alkali-ion batteries.Despite tremendous efforts devoted...Alloy-typed anode materials,endowed innately with high theoretical specific capacity,hold great promise as an alternative to intercalation-typed counterparts for alkali-ion batteries.Despite tremendous efforts devoted to addressing drastic volume change and severe pulverization issues of such anodes,the underlying mechanisms involving dynamic phase evolutions and reaction kinetics have not yet been fully comprehended.Herein,taking antimony(Sb)anode as a representative paradigm,its microscopic operating mechanisms down to the atomic scale during live(de)potassiation cycling are systematically unraveled using in situ transmission electron microscopy.Highly reversible phase transformations at single-particle level,that are Sb←→KSb_(2)←→KSb←→K_5Sb_(4)←→K_(3)Sb,were revealed during cycling.Meanwhile,multiple phase interfaces associated with different reaction kinetics coexisted and this phenomenon was properly elucidated in the context of density functional theory calculations.Impressively,previously unexplored unidirectional circulation of reaction interfaces within individual Sb particle is confirmed for both potassiation and depotassiation.Based on the empirical results,the surface diffusion-mediated potassiation-depotassiation pathways at single-particle level are suggested.This work affords new insights into energy storage mechanisms of Sb anode and valuable guidance for targeted optimization of alloy-typed anodes(not limited to Sb)toward advanced potassium-ion batteries.展开更多
Basic helix–loop–helix(bHLH)proteins play pivotal roles in plant growth,development,and stress responses.However,the molecular and functional properties of bHLHs have not been fully characterized.In this study,a nov...Basic helix–loop–helix(bHLH)proteins play pivotal roles in plant growth,development,and stress responses.However,the molecular and functional properties of bHLHs have not been fully characterized.In this study,a novel XI subgroup of the bHLH protein gene RcbHLH59 was isolated and identified in rose(Rosa sp.).This gene was induced by salinity stress in both rose leaves and roots,and functioned as a transactivator.Accordingly,silencing RcbHLH59 affected the antioxidant system,^(Na+/K+)balance,and photosynthetic system,thereby reducing salt tolerance,while the transient overexpression of RcbHLH59 improved salinity stress tolerance.Additionally,RcbLHLH59 was found to regulate the expression of sets of pathogenesis-related(PR)genes in RcbHLH59-silenced(TRV-RcbHLH59)and RcbHLH59-overexpressing(RcbHLH59-OE)rose plants.The RcPR4/1 and RcPR5/1 transcript levels showed opposite changes in the TRVRcbHLH59 and RcbHLH59-OE lines,suggesting that these two genes are regulated by RcbHLH59.Further analysis revealed that RcbHLH59 binds to the promoters of RcPR4/1 and RcPR5/1,and that the silencing of RcPR4/1 or RcPR5/1 led to decreased tolerance to salinity stress.Moreover,callose degradation-and deposition-related genes were impaired in RcPR4/1-or RcPR5/1-silenced plants,which displayed a salt tolerance phenotype by balancing the ^(Na+/K+)ratio through callose deposition.Collectively,our data highlight a new RcbLHLH59-RcPRs module that positively regulates salinity stress tolerance by balancing Na^(+)/K^(+)and through callose deposition in rose plants.展开更多
A method to tighten the cloud screening thresholds based on local conditions is used to provide more stringent schemes for Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2(OCO-2)cloud screening algorithms.Cloud screening strategies are ...A method to tighten the cloud screening thresholds based on local conditions is used to provide more stringent schemes for Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2(OCO-2)cloud screening algorithms.Cloud screening strategies are essential to remove scenes with significant cloud and/or aerosol contamination from OCO-2 observations,which helps to save on the data processing cost and ensure high quality retrievals of the column-averaged CO2 dry air mole fraction(XCO2).Based on the radiance measurements in the 0.76μm O2A band,1.61μm(weak),and 2.06μm(strong)CO2 bands,the current combination of the A-Band Preprocessor(ABP)algorithm and Iterative Maximum A Posteriori(IMAP)Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(DOAS)Preprocessor(IDP)algorithm passes around 20%-25%of all soundings,which means that some contaminated scenes also pass the screening process.In this work,three independent pairs of threshold parameters used in the ABP and IDP algorithms are sufficiently tuned until the overall pass rate is close to the monthly clear-sky fraction from the MODIS cloud mask.The tightened thresholds are applied to observations over land surfaces in Europe and Japan in 2016.The results show improvement of agreement and positive predictive value compared to the collocated MODIS cloud mask,especially in summer and fall.In addition,analysis indicates that XCO2 retrievals with more stringent thresholds are in closer agreement with measurements from collocated Total Carbon Column Observing Network(TCCON)sites.展开更多
Drought(water shortage)can substantially limit the yield and economic value of rose plants(Rosa spp.).Here,we characterized the effect of exogenous calcium(Ca^(2+))on the antioxidant system and photosynthesis-related ...Drought(water shortage)can substantially limit the yield and economic value of rose plants(Rosa spp.).Here,we characterized the effect of exogenous calcium(Ca^(2+))on the antioxidant system and photosynthesis-related properties of rose under polyethylene glycol 6000(PEG6000)-induced drought stress.Chlorophyll levels,as well as leaf and root biomass,were significantly reduced by drought;drought also had a major effect on the enzymatic antioxidant system and increased concentrations of reactive oxygen species.Application of exogenous Ca^(2+)increased the net photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance of leaves,enhanced water-use efficiency,and increased the length and width of stomata following exposure to drought.Organ-specific physiological responses were observed under different concentrations of Ca^(2+).Application of 5 mmol·L^(-1)Ca^(2+)promoted photosynthesis and antioxidant activity in the leaves,and application of 10 mmol·L^(-1)Ca^(2+)promoted antioxidant activity in the roots.Application of exogenous Ca^(2+)greatly enhanced the phenotype and photosynthetic capacity of potted rose plants following exposure to drought stress.Overall,our findings indicate that the application of exogenous Ca^(2+)enhances the drought resistance of roses by promoting physiological adaptation and that it could be used to aid the cultivation of rose plants.展开更多
