Co-inhibitory receptors serve as crucial regulators of T-cell function, playing a pivotal role in modulating the delicate balance between immune tolerance and autoimmunity.Initially identified in autoimmune disease models,co-inhibitory receptors, including CTLA-4,PD-1,TIM-3,and TIGIT,were found to be integral to immune regulation.Their blockade or absence in these models resulted in the induction or exacerbation of autoimmune diseases.Additionally, scholars have observed that co-inhibitory receptors on lymphocytes hold the potential to influence the prognosis in the context of chronic inflammation.Consequently, the blocking of co-suppressor receptors has emerged as a novel therapeutic approach for inhibiting refractory inflammatory diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis. From the standpoint of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis based on the“strengthening body resistance(FúZhèng)”theory can be construed as the regulation of co-suppressor receptors to modulate the body’s immune function in combating chronic inflammation. This article provides a succinct overview of the role of co-suppressor receptors in anti-inflammatory processes and explores the research prospects of co-suppressor receptor intervention in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The exploration integrates the“strengthening body resistance(FúZhèng)”theory with relevant Chinese medicine formulations. 展开更多

The incidence of cathartic colon has been increasing, but satisfactory treatments are still lacking. In order to study the pathological mechanisms of the disorder and identify effective treatment methods, researchers have established different animal models of cathartic colon. This minireview briefly summarizes several common cathartic colon animal models, induced with anthraquinone laxatives such as rhubarb, total anthraquinone, rhein, and emodin,or induced with diphenylmethane laxatives such as phenolphthalein. The advantages and limitations of these models are evaluated and analyzed. We hope that this review will facilitate the selection of suitable models and improve relevant modeling methods. We anticipate the development of more convenient and stable models that can reflect the characteristics of cathartic colon in humans, and serve as useful tools for further studies. 展开更多

Introduction: This manuscript aims to provide a protocol of systematic review to assess the safety and effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) for the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC). Although CHM has been widely used for UC, its effectiveness and safety has not yet been well defined and analyzed. Methods and analysis: Seven electronic databases were searched, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chinese Biomedical literature(CBL), VIP database, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, PubMed and China Journals Full-text Database. Related Chinese literature will be searched in other Chinese databases. All relevant randomized controlled literature of publication type will be included.Assessment of risk of bias, data synthesis and subgroup analysis will be carried out using Review Manager 5.2.Ethics and dissemination: The results of the systematic review will be disseminated via publication in a peer-reviewed journal and presented at a relevant conference. 展开更多
