The main active components of ginseng are ginsenosides,which play significant roles in treating cardiovascular diseases,cancer,and providing antioxidant effects.Ginsenosides are primarily synthesized through the mevalo...The main active components of ginseng are ginsenosides,which play significant roles in treating cardiovascular diseases,cancer,and providing antioxidant effects.Ginsenosides are primarily synthesized through the mevalo-nate pathway and the methylerythritol phosphate pathway.Many key enzyme genes involved in this biosynthetic process have been cloned and validated,yet the regulatory functions of transcription factors remain unclear.The C_(2)H_(2)-type zincfinger protein family,one of the largest families of transcription factors,is crucial in plant growth and development,response to biotic and abiotic stresses,and regulation of secondary metabolism.This study,based on the ginseng transcriptome database from Jilin,conducted a correlation analysis between the expression levels of PgZFPs genes in the Jilin ginseng C_(2)H_(2)-type zincfinger protein family and ginsenoside content,a gen-ome-wide association study of PgZFPs,and co-expression analysis of PgZFPs with validated key enzyme genes.Ultimately,five candidate genes involved in ginsenoside biosynthesis were identified.The involvement of PgZFP27 and PgZFP-59-02 genes from the PgZFPs family in the biosynthesis of ginsenosides was validated through in vitro methyl jasmonate(MeJA)induction experiments.This result provides new genetic resources for the biosynthesis of ginsenosides.展开更多

The ESG score system is a fundamental component of the green financial system that is essential in promoting corporate environmental progress.In this work we investigate the micro-environmental impact of ESG scores us...The ESG score system is a fundamental component of the green financial system that is essential in promoting corporate environmental progress.In this work we investigate the micro-environmental impact of ESG scores using panel fixed effects models.We examine the processes underlying the influence of ESG scores on the performance of corporate green innovation as well as any potential inequalities in this impact under different moderating factors.To conduct our analysis we use data from Chinese-listed A-shares on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2010 to 2019.Our study demonstrates a relationship between corporate green innovation and ESG ratings indicating that higher ESG ratings assist businesses in achieving better green innovation results.This beneficial effect is evident both numerically and qualitatively and it continues to hold up even after being put through several demanding tests.Additionally we pinpoint two main ways that ESG encourages corporate green innovation by boosting government-enterprise ties and strengthening corporate investment efficiency.We also note that while business characteristics aligned with sustainability further enhance the favorable influence of ESG on green innovation performance characteristics linked to ecologically detrimental activities impede the contribution of ESG to green innovation.Our study adds to the body of knowledge already available on corporate environmental performance and green finance by offering empirical insights that can help enhance corporate environmental development and improve the ESG rating system.展开更多

Glassy carbon(GC)is a type of non-graphitizing disordered carbon material at ambient pressure and high temperatures,which has been widely used due to its excellent mechanical properties.Here we report the changes in t...Glassy carbon(GC)is a type of non-graphitizing disordered carbon material at ambient pressure and high temperatures,which has been widely used due to its excellent mechanical properties.Here we report the changes in the microstructure and mechanical properties of GC treated at high pressures(up to 5 GPa)and high temperatures.The formation of intermediate sp2-sp3 phases is identified at moderate treatment temperatures before the complete graphitization of GC,by analyzing synchrotron X-ray diffraction,Raman spectra,and transmission electron microscopy images.The intermediate metastable carbon materials exhibit superior mechanical properties with hardness reaching up to 10 GPa and compressive strength reaching as high as 2.5 GPa,nearly doubling those of raw GC,and improving elasticity and thermal stability.The synthesis pressure used in this study can be achieved in the industry on a commercial scale,enabling the scalable synthesis of this type of strong,hard,and elastic carbon materials.展开更多
