The rapid development of the digital economy has provided a new impetus for rural residents to extend their working hours.Based on the data collected by the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(CLDS)in 2014,2016,and 2018...The rapid development of the digital economy has provided a new impetus for rural residents to extend their working hours.Based on the data collected by the China Labor-force Dynamics Survey(CLDS)in 2014,2016,and 2018,this paper measured the development level of the digital economy in China from the perspectives of internet development and digital financial inclusion,and tested the mechanisms of how the digital economy affected rural residents’working hours.The results showed that the digital economy extended rural residents’working hours by expanding information channels and enhancing human capital,and this mechanism was affected by heterogeneity in rural residents’educational background,age,and social capital.Building on these findings,this paper holds that to increase rural residents’income by extending their working hours and achieving common prosperity for all,it is necessary to expand the opportunities for rural residents to participate in skills training and promote their accumulation of human capital.展开更多
Cinnamomum camphora(L.)J.Presl.(Laurales:Lauraceae)is widely cultivated as an important landscape tree species in many urban areas in South China,especially in Shanghai City.Pagiophloeus tsushimanus Morimoto has becom...Cinnamomum camphora(L.)J.Presl.(Laurales:Lauraceae)is widely cultivated as an important landscape tree species in many urban areas in South China,especially in Shanghai City.Pagiophloeus tsushimanus Morimoto has become a destructive insect pest of C.camphora plantations in Shanghai,but the biological and ecological traits of this pest remain largely unknown.In this study,we investigated the damage and life history and determined the larval instar of P.tsushimanus.The results indicated that P.tsushimanus is a monophagous weevil pest,and C.camphora is the unique host tree species.C.camphora plantations in all administrative districts of Shanghai have been seriously damaged by P.tsushimanus.Adults often aggregate for feeding on the tender bark of twigs and occasionally on newly emerged buds.After experiencing damage,the twigs shrink and crack and the buds will shrink.Adults tend to repeatedly mate and oviposit,and all females lay single eggs at a time.Eggs will be covered with a mixture of secretions and wood chips by female adults.Larvae(1 st-2 nd instar)feed on the phloem,while 3 rd-5 th instar can bore into the phloem and the cambium.Massive tunnels,including three shapes(inverted"L",inverted"T",and inverted"Z"),were observed in the trunk of each tree,and resulted in swelling of the outer bark.P.tsushimanus has one life cycle per year in Shanghai.Both adults and larvae(3 rd-5 th instar)overwinter from early November to early April.Adults overwinter in grooves on the underside of branches or at branch nodes,and larvae overwinter in tunnels.Five larval instars of P.tsushimanus were determined according to Dyar’s and Crosby’s rules.The biological traits and life history of P.tsushimanus have been identified and can provide guidance in terms of pest control and plantation management.展开更多
BACKGROUND Serum gastrin-17(G-17),pepsinogen I(PGI),and pepsinogen II(PGII)concentrations regulate gastric acid secretion,and hypersecretion of gastric acid increases the risks of peptic ulcer and upper gastrointestin...BACKGROUND Serum gastrin-17(G-17),pepsinogen I(PGI),and pepsinogen II(PGII)concentrations regulate gastric acid secretion,and hypersecretion of gastric acid increases the risks of peptic ulcer and upper gastrointestinal bleeding.These associations suggest that serum G-17,PGI,and(or)PGII may predict gastrointestinal bleeding risk among peptic ulcer patients.AIM To evaluate the efficacies of serum G-17,PGI,PGII,and PGI/PGII ratio(PGR)for predicting upper gastrointestinal bleeding among peptic ulcer patients.METHODS A total of 199 patients diagnosed with peptic ulcer confirmed by gastroscopy and positivity for Helicobacter pylori by the 14C-urea breath test were recruited,including 107 patients with simple peptic ulcer and 92 cases complicated by upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Serum PGI,PGII,G-17,and PGR were measured by immune methods and compared between bleeding and non-bleeding groups by univariate analysis.The specificity and sensitivity of PGs and G-17 for evaluating upper gastrointestinal bleeding risk were then assessed by constructing receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.RESULTS Serum G-17 was significantly higher among peptic ulcer patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding compared to simple peptic ulcer patients(25.34±14.29 vs 8.84±8.03 pmol/L,t=9.822,P<0.01),whereas serum PGI,PGII,and PGR did not differ significantly between bleeding and non-bleeding groups(all P>0.05).The risk of bleeding was significantly higher among peptic ulcer patients with elevated serum G-17(>15 pmol/L)compared to patients with normal or low serum G-17(73.2%vs 27.4%,χ2=40.72,P<0.01).The area under the ROC curve for serum G-17 was 0.866±0.024,and a cut-off of 9.86 pmol/L yielded 90.2%sensitivity and 68.2%specificity for distinguishing peptic ulcer with and without upper gastrointestinal bleeding.CONCLUSION Serum G-17 is significantly upregulated in peptic ulcer patients and higher levels are predictive of upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Conversely,serum PGI,PGII,and PGR have no predictive value.Further prospective studies are warranted to examine if high G-17 can be used to assess risk of bleeding prior to onset.展开更多
Objective:RECQL4(a member of the RECQ helicase family)upregulation has been reported to be associated with tumor progression in several malignancies.However,whether RECQL4 sustains esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(E...Objective:RECQL4(a member of the RECQ helicase family)upregulation has been reported to be associated with tumor progression in several malignancies.However,whether RECQL4 sustains esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)has not been elucidated.In this study,we determined the functional role for RECQL4 in ESCC progression.Methods:RECQL4 expression in clinical samples of ESCC was examined by immunohistochemistry.Cell proliferation,cellular senescence,the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),DNA damage,and reactive oxygen species in ESCC cell lines with RECQL4 depletion or overexpression were analyzed.The levels of proteins involved in the DNA damage response(DDR),cell cycle progression,survival,and the EMT were determined by Western blot analyses.Results:RECQL4 was highly expressed in tumor tissues when compared to adjacent non-tumor tissues in ESCC(P<0.001)and positively correlated with poor differentiation(P=0.011),enhanced invasion(P=0.033),and metastasis(P=0.048).RECQL4 was positively associated with proliferation and migration in ESCC cells.Depletion of RECQL4 also inhibited growth of tumor xenografts in vivo.RECQL4 depletion induced G0/G1 phase arrest and cellular senescence.Importantly,the levels of DNA damage and reactive oxygen species were increased when RECQL4 was depleted.DDR,as measured by the activation of ATM,ATR,CHK1,and CHK2,was impaired.RECQL4 was also shown to promote the activation of AKT,ERK,and NF-k B in ESCC cells.Conclusions:The results indicated that RECQL4 was highly expressed in ESCC and played critical roles in the regulation of DDR,redox homeostasis,and cell survival.展开更多
