Taking A Oilfield in the Bohai Sea Area, China as an example, the target sand body was formed in a shallow water delta sedimentary environment, with well-developed underwater distributary channels and frequent branching and diversion. The reservoir was strong non-uniformity and uneven plane water cut pressure. To this end, based on the existing work of predecessors, combined with seismic, logging, and production dynamics data, and based on the genesis mechanism of shallow water delta reservoirs, the boundary of composite river channels was identified through seismic facies, and logging facies were used to subdivide them into single river levels within the composite river channels. Then, seismic waveform characteristics were applied to track and characterize the plane distribution of single river channels, guiding the efficient development of offshore shallow water delta oil fields and achieving increased storage and production in Bohai Oilfield, China.展开更多

By combining well seismic analysis, the middle section of Shahejie-3 is divided into high-level system tract and forced lake retreat system tract, corresponding to the II oil formation and I oil formation, respectively. Using sequence stratigraphy methods, based on seismic profiles and drilling lithological cycles, the high stand system tract is divided into 5 stages of delta progradation. The first and second stages are high angle S-type progradation with large sedimentary thickness, the third stage is oblique progradation, and the fourth and fifth stages are S-oblique composite progradation;By combining seismic data, we characterized the large-scale (8 small-scale) progradation bodies of 5 periods, clarified the distribution characteristics of reservoir planes, and laid the foundation for the later exploration of oilfield potential.展开更多

The main oil bearing horizon is the lower Minghuazhen Member, belonging to shallow water delta sedimentation. For the rolling exploration and evaluation of adjacent fault blocks, this paper uses the mudstone smear method to analyze and accurately characterize the lithological contact relationship between the two walls of the fault. Based on the establishment of different reservoir docking modes on the two walls of the fault, the sealing parameters are calculated to evaluate the sealing ability of the fault, thereby evaluating its reservoir formation characteristics, and predicting the height of the oil column. The above methods provide geological basis for further rolling expansion and potential tapping in the study area and surrounding areas, and have guiding significance for exploration and rolling potential tapping in similar blocks in the Bohai Sea.展开更多

By introducing basic principles of hydrostatics. The relationship between pressure coefficient and mathematical depth is discussed by mathematical induction analysis of measured pressure data of nearly 50 normal pressure reservoirs in Bohai Oilfield. The results show that the reservoir pressure data is linearly distributed with depth, and the pressure coefficient is inversely proportional to depth. When the depth becomes shallower, the pressure coefficient increases and approaches the reservoir level. As the depth increases, the pressure coefficient decreases and approaches the hydrostatic pressure coefficient infinitely. The study can more accurately analyze the reservoir pressure changes, which is helpful to study the oil and water distribution, reservoir connectivity and fluid properties of atmospheric pressure reservoirs.展开更多

However, the development of offshore fluvial reservoirs is faced with the problems of thin reservoir thickness, narrow plane width, rapid lateral change, and thin well pattern. Taking the KLA oilfield as an example, this paper discusses the nuanced characterization and configuration of a single channel controlled by sedimentary facies to guide developing offshore river facies’ narrow channel main control oilfield. Firstly, based on a large number of core data, the acceptable sedimentary facies identification is realized, the sedimentary model of the study area is established, the delicate calibration of logging facies and seismic facies is realized under the constraint of the sedimentary model, and a set of technical methods for nuanced reservoir characterization guided by seismic sedimentology is summarized, to realize the boundary identification of composite channel configuration and further realize the nuanced characterization of the single narrow channel. Based on this set of technology, it guides the smooth implementation of horizontal wells in the oilfield. The drilling encounter rate of the reservoir in the horizontal section of the single well exceeds 90%, ensuring the injection production connectivity and increasing the reserve production rate by more than 10%.展开更多

There are many plane fault blocks, and the longitudinal oil well section is long, so the oil-water relationship is very complex. With the further development of the oilfield, the vertical and horizontal oil-water movement law, residual oil distribution and potential are unclear, resulting in rapid bottom water coning, unbalanced injection and production in the oilfield, and increasingly prominent contradictions among layers, planes and layers in the oilfield. Through numerical simulation analysis and comparison of displacement law and recovery degree under different influence conditions, this paper studies the development effect of actual sand body under different influence conditions such as different well types, different development methods and well layout positions, and takes appropriate development methods for the oilfield, which is of great significance to improve the development effect of the oilfield.展开更多

The main characteristics of the oilfield were multi-phase sand body stacking and the sand body was composed of three parts: gas cap, oil reservoir, and edge water. The actual production site results show that the permeability difference of multi-layer sand bodies has a serious impact on the development effect. This article establishes a typical reservoir model numerical model based on the total recovery degree of the reservoir and the recovery degree of each layer, and analyzes the impact of permeability gradient. As the permeability gradient increases, the total recovery degree of all four well patterns decreases, and the total recovery degree gradually decreases. The recovery degree of low permeability layers gradually decreases, and the recovery degree of high permeability layers gradually increases. As the permeability gradient increases, the degree of recovery gradually decreases under different water contents. As the permeability gradient increases, the reduction rate of remaining oil saturation in low permeability layers is slower, while the reduction rate of remaining oil saturation in high permeability layers was faster. By analyzing the impact of permeability gradient on the development effect of oil fields, we could further deepen our understanding of gas cap edge water reservoirs and guide the development of this type of oil field.展开更多

From the perspective of sedimentary genesis of the interlayer, three types of genesis of the interlayer are summarized and analyzed, namely, fine grain sediment in the inter peak channel, suspended sediment in the post flood channel, and abandoned channel sediment. At the same time, combined with seismic waveform analysis, the distribution characteristics and morphology of the interlayer in complex fluvial facies oilfield are carefully depicted, and the horizontal well optimization implementation is guided based on the planar and three-dimensional spatial distribution characteristics of the interlayer. This method enriches the characterization technology of interlayer in offshore oilfields, and has important guiding significance for the overall evaluation and development research of complex fluvial facies oilfields.展开更多
