Nickel-rich layered Li transition metal oxides are the most promising cathode materials for high-energydensity Li-ion batteries.However,they exhibit rapid capacity degradation induced by transition metal dissolution a...Nickel-rich layered Li transition metal oxides are the most promising cathode materials for high-energydensity Li-ion batteries.However,they exhibit rapid capacity degradation induced by transition metal dissolution and structural reconstruction,which are associated with hydrofluoric acid(HF)generation from lithium hexafluorophosphate decomposition.The potential for thermal runaway during the working process poses another challenge.Separators are promising components to alleviate the aforementioned obstacles.Herein,an ultrathin double-layered separator with a 10 lm polyimide(PI)basement and a 2 lm polyvinylidene difluoride(PVDF)coating layer is designed and fabricated by combining a nonsolvent induced phase inversion process and coating method.The PI skeleton provides good stability against potential thermal shrinkage,and the strong PI-PVDF bonding endows the composite separator with robust structural integrity;these characteristics jointly contribute to the extraordinary mechanical tolerance of the separator at elevated temperatures.Additionally,unique HF-scavenging effects are achieved with the formation of-CO…H-F hydrogen bonds for the abundant HF coordination sites provided by the imide ring;hence,the layered Ni-rich cathodes are protected from HF attack,which ultimately reduces transition metal dissolution and facilitates long-term cyclability of the Ni-rich cathodes.Li||NCM811 batteries(where“NCM”indicates LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2))with the proposed composite separator exhibit a 90.6%capacity retention after 400 cycles at room temperature and remain sustainable at 60℃with a 91.4%capacity retention after 200 cycles.By adopting a new perspective on separators,this study presents a feasible and promising strategy for suppressing capacity degradation and enabling the safe operation of Ni-rich cathode materials.展开更多

However, the molecular basis of such an effect still remains largely unknown. Here, we report the role of a member of CBL (Calcineurin B-Like) Interacting Protein Kinase (CIPK) family, OsCIPK23, in pollination and stress responses in rice. Molecular analyses revealed that it is mainly expressed in pistil and anther but up-regulated by pollination, as well as by treatments of various abiotic stresses and phytohormones. RNA interference-mediated suppression of OsCIPK23 expression significantly reduced seed set and conferred a hypersensitive response to drought stress, indicating its possible roles in pollination and drought stress. In consistent, overexpression of OsCIPK23 induced the expression of several drought tolerance related genes. Taken together, these results indicate that OsCIPK23 is a multistress induced gene and likely mediates a signaling pathway commonly shared by both pollination and drought stress responses in rice.展开更多

Recent clinical evidence has shown the benefits o...Background: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy(CCRT) significantly increases the survival rate of esophageal squa?mous cell carcinoma(ESCC) patients with malignant fistulae. Recent clinical evidence has shown the benefits of enteral nutrition for malnourished cancer patients. In this study, we aimed to validate that, with the support of enteral nutrition, ESCC patients who develop malignant fistulae might be able to complete CCRT and achieve long?term survival.Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 652 patients with ESCC who received definitive CCRT at Sun Yat?sen University Cancer Center between January 2010 and December 2012. Treatment outcome and toxicity were ret?rospectively evaluated in 40 ESCC patients with malignant fistulae. All the 40 patients were treated with CCRT and evaluated by clinical nutritionists using nutrition risk screening(NRS) before, during, and after treatment. Twenty?two patients received a nasogastric tube, and 18 underwent percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding. The median energy intake was 2166 kcal/day. Treatment response was evaluated at 3 months after the completion of CCRT.Results: With a median follow?up of 18 months(range, 3–39 months), patients' 1?year overall survival(OS) rate was 62.5%, and the estimated OS time was 25.5 months. Univariate analysis showed that the NRS score(P n NRS score(P se to treatment(P < 0.001) were sig= 0.003), increase i= 0.024), fistula closure(P = 0.011), and responnifi?cantly associated with OS. Multivariate analysis showed that tumor response(P = 0.044) and increase in NRS score(P = 0.044) were independent predictors of OS. Grade 3 vomiting was observed in 8 patients(20.0%), grade 3 neutro?penia was observed in 11 patients(27.5%), and grade 3 cough was observed in 13 patients(32.5%); 2 patients(5.0%) died of massive bleeding during treatment.Conclusions: CCRT combined with enteral nutrition support is effective for ESCC patients with malignant fistulae. Patients have an increased potential to be cured, especially those who experience complete response and have an increase in NRS score. Careful observation and nutrition support are required for patients with advanced T?category ESCC who undergo CCRT.展开更多

In this study, we investigated controlled expression of the Eui gene and its...The rice Eui (ELONGATED UPPERMOST INTERNODE) gene encodes a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that deactivates bioactive gibberellins (GAs). In this study, we investigated controlled expression of the Eui gene and its role in plant development. We found that Eui was differentially induced by exogenous GAs and that the Eui promoter had the highest activity in the vascular bundles. The eui mutant was defective in starch granule development in root caps and Eui overexpression enhanced starch granule generation and gravity responses, revealing a role for GA in root starch granule development and gravity responses. Experiments using embryoless half-seeds revealed that RAmylA and GAmyb were highly upregulated in eui aleurone ceils in the absence of exogenous GA. In addition, the GA biosynthesis genes GA3oxl and GA20ox2 were downregulated and GA2oxl was upregulated in eui seedlings. These results indicate that EUI is involved in GA homeostasis, not only in the internodes at the heading stage, but also in the seedling stage, roots and seeds. Disturbing GA homeostasis affected the expression of the GA signaling genes GID1 (GIBBERELLIN INSENSITIVE DWARF 1), GID2 and SLR1. Transgenic RNA interference of the Eui gene effectively increased plant height and improved heading performance. By contrast, the ectopic expression of Eui under the promoters of the rice GA biosynthesis genes GA3ox2 and GA2Oox2 significantly reduced plant height. These results demonstrate that a slight increase in Eui expression could dramatically change rice morphology, indicating the practical application of the Eui gene in rice molecular breeding for a high yield potential.展开更多

Thereafter, the steel with the lath martensitic structure was multi-pass warm-rolled and then annealed. TEM results indicate that nano-grained and ultrafine-grained steel sheets are formed by warm rolling at 400℃ and annealing at 400-600℃. In comparison with the as-warm-rolled specimen, the tensile strength at room temperature changes a little when the rolled samples are annealed below 450℃, and the tensile strength is greatly lowered as the annealing temperature increases to above 550℃.展开更多

A series of non-hydrostatic,non-linear numerical simulations were carried out to investigate the generation and evolution of internal solitary waves(ISWs)through the interaction of a barotropic tidal current with an i...A series of non-hydrostatic,non-linear numerical simulations were carried out to investigate the generation and evolution of internal solitary waves(ISWs)through the interaction of a barotropic tidal current with an ice keel in the Arctic Ocean.During the interaction process,the internal surge was generated at first,and then the wave gradually steepened due to non-linearity during its propagation away from the ice keel.The internal surge eventually disintegrated into multi-modal and rank-ordered ISW packets with the largest having an amplitude of O(10)m.Sensitivity experiments demonstrated that the ISWs’amplitudes and energy were proportional to the varying ice keel depths and barotropic tidal fl ow amplitudes,but were insensitive to the changing ice keel widths.Typical ISWs can enhance the turbulent dissipation rate of O(10^(-6))W/kg along their propagation path.Further,heat entrainment induced by the wave-ice interaction can reach O(10)MJ/m per tidal cycle.This study reveals a particular ISW generation mechanism and process in the polar ice environment,which could be important in impacting the energy transfer and heat balance in the Arctic Ocean.展开更多
Upper ocean mixing plays a key role in the atmosphere-ocean heat transfer and sea ice extent and thickness via modulating the upper ocean temperatures in the Arctic Ocean.Observations of diffusivities in the Arctic th...Upper ocean mixing plays a key role in the atmosphere-ocean heat transfer and sea ice extent and thickness via modulating the upper ocean temperatures in the Arctic Ocean.Observations of diffusivities in the Arctic that directly indicate the ocean mixing properties are sparse.Therefore,the spatiotemporal pattern and magnitude of diapycnal diffusivities and kinetic energy dissipation rates in the upper Arctic Ocean are important for atmosphere-ocean heat transfers and sea ice changes.These were first estimated from the Ice-Tethered Profilers dataset(2005–2019)using a strain-based fine-scale parameterization.The resultant mixing properties showed signifi cant geographical inhomogeneity and temporal variability.Diapycnal diff usivities and dissipation rates in the Atlantic sector of the Arctic Ocean were stronger than those on the Pacific side.Mixing in the Atlantic sector increased significantly during the observation period;whereas in the Pacific sector,it weakened before 2011 and then strengthened.Potential impact factors include wind,sea ice,near inertial waves,and stratifi cation,while their relative contributions vary between the two sectors of the Arctic Ocean.In the Atlantic sector,turbulent mixing dominated,while in the Pacific sector,turbulent mixing was inhibited by strong stratification prior to 2011,and is able to overcome the stratifi cation gradually after 2014.The vertical turbulent heat fl ux constantly increased in the Atlantic sector year by year,while it decreased in the Pacific sector post 2010.The estimated heat flux variability induced by enhanced turbulent mixing is expected to continue to diminish sea ice in the near future.展开更多
Marine benthic dinoflagellates in the genus Coolia were reported in both tropical and temperate regions.We conducted a morphological and phylogenetic characterization of Coolia species from Hainan Island,South China S...Marine benthic dinoflagellates in the genus Coolia were reported in both tropical and temperate regions.We conducted a morphological and phylogenetic characterization of Coolia species from Hainan Island,South China Sea.The morphologies of three Coolia species were similar to those of the original descriptions of Coolia canariensis,C.tropicalis,and C.malayensis.In phylogenetic analyses based on the LSU rDNA and ITS regions(ITS1-5.8 S-ITS2),the Hainan strains of C.canariensis,C.tropicalis,and C.malayensis clustered within the clades of these species with other isolates from different areas.No differences(p-distance)in LSU rDNA sequences were found between the Hainan C.malayensis strains and the strains from New Zealand,Florida of USA,Malaysia,Japan,Dominican Republic and Guangxi and Hong Kong of China.For C.canariensis and C.tropicalis,no differences(p-distance)in the LSU rDNA sequences were found between the Hainan strains(D1 C2 and DS5 F4,respectively)and the Australian strains(NQAIF252 and NQAIF90,respectively).Our study reveals the morphological and genetic diversity of Coolia species from Hainan Island,South China Sea,which provides a detailed understanding of Coolia species of this area.展开更多

Nonlinear internal waves(NIWs) are ubiquitous around the Kara Sea, a part of the Arctic Ocean that is north of Siberia. Three hot spot sources for internal waves, one of which is the Kara Strait, have been identified ...Nonlinear internal waves(NIWs) are ubiquitous around the Kara Sea, a part of the Arctic Ocean that is north of Siberia. Three hot spot sources for internal waves, one of which is the Kara Strait, have been identified based on Envisat ASAR. The generation and evolution of the NIWs through the interactions of the tide and topography across the strait is studied based on a nonhydrostatic numerical model. The model captures most wave characteristics shown by satellite data. A typical inter-packets distance on the Barents Sea side is about 25 km in summer, with a phase speed about 0.65 m/s. A northward background current may intensify the accumulation of energy during generation, but it has little influence on the other properties of the generated waves. The single internal solitary wave(ISW) structure is a special phenomenon that follows major wave trains, with a distance about 5–8 km. This wave is generated with the leading wave packets during the same tidal period. When a steady current toward the Kara Sea is included, the basic generation process is similar, but the waves toward the Kara Sea weaken and display an internal bore-like structure with smaller amplitude than in the control experiment. In winter, due to the growth of sea ice, stratification across the Kara Strait is mainly determined by the salinity, with an almost uniform temperature close to freezing. A pycnocline deepens near the middle of the water depth(Barents Sea side), and the NIWs process is not as important as the NIWs process in summer. There is no fission process during the simulation.展开更多
Users of the digital image correlation method are faced with the problem of poor operability,low repeatability,and lack of standardized specifications for spraying speckles.To solve the problem,the research proposed a...Users of the digital image correlation method are faced with the problem of poor operability,low repeatability,and lack of standardized specifications for spraying speckles.To solve the problem,the research proposed a rock deformation measurement method that obviates the need to spray speckles.A local binary model was established by using the local binary pattern(LBP)operator based on deep texture features on rock surfaces.The resulting LBP digital speckle pattern can substitute artificial speckle patterns and demonstrates high quality and strong applicability.Based on the LBP digital speckle pattern,the target tracking algorithm was employed to achieve non-contact measurement of the dynamic displacements of rocks.The feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm in practical application were verified by conducting shear tests on granite and siltstone.Test results show that the deformation characteristics in the displacement nephograms are in line with the measured data pertaining to rock fracturing and conform to the basic characteristics of the shear failure of rocks.The deformation measurement method based on surface texture information can realize non-contact displacement measurement of rocks under conditions without speckles:this obviates the influence of the quality of sprayed speckles on the accuracy of the measurement of deformation.展开更多

METHODS: A novel method was proposed to identify macula in fundus images by using structure label...AIM: To explore feasibility and practicability of macula localization independent of macular morphological features. METHODS: A novel method was proposed to identify macula in fundus images by using structure label transfer. Its main idea was to match a processed image with the candidate images with known structures, and then transfer the structure label representing the macular to the processed image as a result of macula localization. In this way, macula localization couldn't be influenced by lesion or other interference any more. RESULTS: The average success rate in four datasets was 98.18%. For accuracy, the average error distance in four datasets was 0.151 optic disc diameter (ODD). Even for severe lesion images, the proposed method can still maintain high success rate and high accuracy, e.g., 95.65% and 0.124 ODD in the case of STARE dataset, respectively, which indicated that the proposed method was highly robust and stable in the complicated situations. CONCLUSION: The proposed method can avoid the interference of lesion to macular morphological features in macula localization, and can locate macula with high accuracy and robustness, verifying its feasibility.展开更多
Objective: This study evaluated the therapeutic effect of external beam radiotherapy (RT) combined with trans- catheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on the patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC...Objective: This study evaluated the therapeutic effect of external beam radiotherapy (RT) combined with trans- catheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on the patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: From June 1994 to April 2002, 114 patients with unresectable HCC were nonrandomized prospectively stepped into our study. All patients received TACE as initial therapy, except 54 also received combination therapy with external beam therapy. Sur- vival failure patterns were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results: Overall survival rates in the patients in the radiotherapy group were 65%, 47%, 38% at 1, 2, 3 years, respectively, improved over the non-radiotherapy group rates of 54%, 36.5%, 18% at 1, 2, 3 years, respectively. There was significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05). The survival rates correlated with tumor size, number of tumors, and portal vein embolus. Conclusion: TACE combined with RT is a more effective treatment than TACE alone in patients with unresectable HCC.展开更多

Rivers are important habitats for wintering waterbirds.However,they are easily influenced by natural and human activities.An important approach for waterbirds to adapt to habitats is adjusting the activity time and en...Rivers are important habitats for wintering waterbirds.However,they are easily influenced by natural and human activities.An important approach for waterbirds to adapt to habitats is adjusting the activity time and energy expenditure allocation of diurnal behavior.The compensatory foraging hypothesis predicts that increased energy expenditure leads to longer foraging time,which in turn increases food intake and helps maintain a constant energy balance.However,it is unclear whether human-disturbed habitats result in increased energy expenditure related to safety or foraging.In this study,the scan sample method was used to observe the diurnal behavior of the wintering Spot-billed Duck(Anas poecilorhyncha) in two rivers in the Xin’an River Basin from October 2021 to March 2022.The allocation of time and energy expenditure for activity in both normal and disturbed environments was calculated.The results showed that foraging accounted for the highest percentage of time and energy expenditure.Additionally,foraging decreased in the disturbed environment than that in the normal environment.Resting behavior showed the opposite trend,while other behaviors were similar in both environments.The total diurnal energy expenditure of ducks in the disturbed environment was greater than that in the normal environment,with decreased foraging and resting time percentage and increased behaviors related to immediate safety(swimming and alert) and comfort.These results oppose the compensatory foraging hypothesis in favor of increased security.The optimal diurnal energy expenditure model included river width and water depth,which had a positive relationship;an increase in either of these two factors resulted in an increase in energy expenditure.This study provides a better understanding of energy allocation strategies underlying the superficial time allocation of wintering waterbirds according to environmental conditions.Exploring these changes can help understand the maximum fitness of wintering waterbirds in response to nature and human influences.展开更多

By optimizing the experimental parameters, we achieved a specific c...In this study, the effect of reduced graphene oxide(rGO) on interconnected Co_3O_4 nanosheets and the improved supercapacitive behaviors is reported. By optimizing the experimental parameters, we achieved a specific capacitance of ~1016.4 F g^(-1) for the Co_3O_4/rGO/NF(nickel foam) system at a current density of 1 A g^(-1). However, the Co_3O_4/NF structure without rGO only delivers a specific capacitance of ~520.0 F g^(-1)at the same current density. The stability test demonstrates that Co_3O_4/rGO/NF retains ~95.5% of the initial capacitance value even after 3000 charge–discharge cycles at a high current density of 7 A g^(-1). Further investigation reveals that capacitance improvement for the Co_3O_4/rGO/NF structure is mainly because of a higher specific surface area(~87.8 m^2g^(-1))and a more optimal mesoporous size(4–15 nm) compared to the corresponding values of 67.1 m^2g^(-1) and 6–25 nm,respectively, for the Co_3O_4/NF structure. rGO and the thinner Co_3O_4 nanosheets benefit from the strain relaxation during the charge and discharge processes, improving the cycling stability of Co_3O_4/rGO/NF.展开更多
Objective:Several anti-programmed cell death 1(anti-PD-1)antibodies have demonstrated potential efficacy in the treatment of advanced esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC).However,the response to subsequent chemothera...Objective:Several anti-programmed cell death 1(anti-PD-1)antibodies have demonstrated potential efficacy in the treatment of advanced esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC).However,the response to subsequent chemotherapy after the failure of PD-1 blockade in ESCC patients has not been reported,and the optimal sequencing of immunotherapy and chemotherapy remains controversial.The aim of the present study was to evaluate responses to irinotecan-based subsequent chemotherapy in advanced ESCC patients who had progressed after treatment with camrelizumab(SHR-1210),a novel anti-PD-1 antibody.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with advanced ESCC treated with camrelizumab at a single institution.Consecutive patients who received subsequent irinotecan-based chemotherapy were selected for data collection and analysis.Results:Overall,a total of 28 patients were included.All patients had received at least two lines of systemic treatment prior to irinotecan salvage.The most common regimen that was administered after PD-1 blockade was irinotecan in combination with 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu)(or its derivatives),which was given to 19 patients.The objective response rate(ORR)and disease control rate(DCR)were 17.9%(5/28)and 64.3%(18/28),respectively,with 5(17.9%)patients achieving a partial response and 13(46.4%)having stable disease.The median progressionfree survival(PFS)was 3.18[95%confidence interval(95%CI),2.48-3.88]months and the median overall survival(OS)was 6.23(95%CI,4.71-7.75)months.No new safety issues,either immune-related or otherwise,were observed.Conclusions:Our results suggested that the response to irinotecan-based chemotherapy after PD-1 blockade in advanced ESCC patients appeared similar to that previously observed in patients who had not received PD-1 antibodies,and further study in larger cohorts or randomized trials is warranted to verify our observation.展开更多

文摘Nickel-rich layered Li transition metal oxides are the most promising cathode materials for high-energydensity Li-ion batteries.However,they exhibit rapid capacity degradation induced by transition metal dissolution and structural reconstruction,which are associated with hydrofluoric acid(HF)generation from lithium hexafluorophosphate decomposition.The potential for thermal runaway during the working process poses another challenge.Separators are promising components to alleviate the aforementioned obstacles.Herein,an ultrathin double-layered separator with a 10 lm polyimide(PI)basement and a 2 lm polyvinylidene difluoride(PVDF)coating layer is designed and fabricated by combining a nonsolvent induced phase inversion process and coating method.The PI skeleton provides good stability against potential thermal shrinkage,and the strong PI-PVDF bonding endows the composite separator with robust structural integrity;these characteristics jointly contribute to the extraordinary mechanical tolerance of the separator at elevated temperatures.Additionally,unique HF-scavenging effects are achieved with the formation of-CO…H-F hydrogen bonds for the abundant HF coordination sites provided by the imide ring;hence,the layered Ni-rich cathodes are protected from HF attack,which ultimately reduces transition metal dissolution and facilitates long-term cyclability of the Ni-rich cathodes.Li||NCM811 batteries(where“NCM”indicates LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2))with the proposed composite separator exhibit a 90.6%capacity retention after 400 cycles at room temperature and remain sustainable at 60℃with a 91.4%capacity retention after 200 cycles.By adopting a new perspective on separators,this study presents a feasible and promising strategy for suppressing capacity degradation and enabling the safe operation of Ni-rich cathode materials.

文摘Drought is very harmful to grain yield due to its adverse effect on reproduction, especially on pollination process in rice. However, the molecular basis of such an effect still remains largely unknown. Here, we report the role of a member of CBL (Calcineurin B-Like) Interacting Protein Kinase (CIPK) family, OsCIPK23, in pollination and stress responses in rice. Molecular analyses revealed that it is mainly expressed in pistil and anther but up-regulated by pollination, as well as by treatments of various abiotic stresses and phytohormones. RNA interference-mediated suppression of OsCIPK23 expression significantly reduced seed set and conferred a hypersensitive response to drought stress, indicating its possible roles in pollination and drought stress. In consistent, overexpression of OsCIPK23 induced the expression of several drought tolerance related genes. Taken together, these results indicate that OsCIPK23 is a multistress induced gene and likely mediates a signaling pathway commonly shared by both pollination and drought stress responses in rice.

文摘Background: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy(CCRT) significantly increases the survival rate of esophageal squa?mous cell carcinoma(ESCC) patients with malignant fistulae. Recent clinical evidence has shown the benefits of enteral nutrition for malnourished cancer patients. In this study, we aimed to validate that, with the support of enteral nutrition, ESCC patients who develop malignant fistulae might be able to complete CCRT and achieve long?term survival.Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 652 patients with ESCC who received definitive CCRT at Sun Yat?sen University Cancer Center between January 2010 and December 2012. Treatment outcome and toxicity were ret?rospectively evaluated in 40 ESCC patients with malignant fistulae. All the 40 patients were treated with CCRT and evaluated by clinical nutritionists using nutrition risk screening(NRS) before, during, and after treatment. Twenty?two patients received a nasogastric tube, and 18 underwent percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding. The median energy intake was 2166 kcal/day. Treatment response was evaluated at 3 months after the completion of CCRT.Results: With a median follow?up of 18 months(range, 3–39 months), patients' 1?year overall survival(OS) rate was 62.5%, and the estimated OS time was 25.5 months. Univariate analysis showed that the NRS score(P n NRS score(P se to treatment(P < 0.001) were sig= 0.003), increase i= 0.024), fistula closure(P = 0.011), and responnifi?cantly associated with OS. Multivariate analysis showed that tumor response(P = 0.044) and increase in NRS score(P = 0.044) were independent predictors of OS. Grade 3 vomiting was observed in 8 patients(20.0%), grade 3 neutro?penia was observed in 11 patients(27.5%), and grade 3 cough was observed in 13 patients(32.5%); 2 patients(5.0%) died of massive bleeding during treatment.Conclusions: CCRT combined with enteral nutrition support is effective for ESCC patients with malignant fistulae. Patients have an increased potential to be cured, especially those who experience complete response and have an increase in NRS score. Careful observation and nutrition support are required for patients with advanced T?category ESCC who undergo CCRT.

文摘The rice Eui (ELONGATED UPPERMOST INTERNODE) gene encodes a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that deactivates bioactive gibberellins (GAs). In this study, we investigated controlled expression of the Eui gene and its role in plant development. We found that Eui was differentially induced by exogenous GAs and that the Eui promoter had the highest activity in the vascular bundles. The eui mutant was defective in starch granule development in root caps and Eui overexpression enhanced starch granule generation and gravity responses, revealing a role for GA in root starch granule development and gravity responses. Experiments using embryoless half-seeds revealed that RAmylA and GAmyb were highly upregulated in eui aleurone ceils in the absence of exogenous GA. In addition, the GA biosynthesis genes GA3oxl and GA20ox2 were downregulated and GA2oxl was upregulated in eui seedlings. These results indicate that EUI is involved in GA homeostasis, not only in the internodes at the heading stage, but also in the seedling stage, roots and seeds. Disturbing GA homeostasis affected the expression of the GA signaling genes GID1 (GIBBERELLIN INSENSITIVE DWARF 1), GID2 and SLR1. Transgenic RNA interference of the Eui gene effectively increased plant height and improved heading performance. By contrast, the ectopic expression of Eui under the promoters of the rice GA biosynthesis genes GA3ox2 and GA2Oox2 significantly reduced plant height. These results demonstrate that a slight increase in Eui expression could dramatically change rice morphology, indicating the practical application of the Eui gene in rice molecular breeding for a high yield potential.

文摘For preparing large-scale nano-grained and ultrafine-grained steel sheets by warm rolling and annealing, the effects of deforming temperature on both the flow stress and the microstructure evolution of 09MnNiD steel with lath martensitic microstructure were studied by warm-compression test and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation. Thereafter, the steel with the lath martensitic structure was multi-pass warm-rolled and then annealed. TEM results indicate that nano-grained and ultrafine-grained steel sheets are formed by warm rolling at 400℃ and annealing at 400-600℃. In comparison with the as-warm-rolled specimen, the tensile strength at room temperature changes a little when the rolled samples are annealed below 450℃, and the tensile strength is greatly lowered as the annealing temperature increases to above 550℃.

文摘Mung bean is one of the major legume crops in China, and its nutritional quality and processing quality directly affect the development of mung bean processing industry. In order to promote the development of mung bean processing industry, the research progress of mung bean quality characteristics, including physical quality, nutritional quality, medicinal value and the processing quality, were summarized based on literatures both at home and abroad, and the current exploitation status of starch, protein, dietary fiber, resistant starch, flavonoids and superoxide dismutase of mung bean was also reviewed. In order to promote the development of mung bean processing industry, it should strengthen the research on quality characteristics and functional ingredients of mung bean, pay attention to the development of healthy products, improve the processing technology, and cultivate a group of leading mung bean processing companies with strong competence in the market.

文摘A series of non-hydrostatic,non-linear numerical simulations were carried out to investigate the generation and evolution of internal solitary waves(ISWs)through the interaction of a barotropic tidal current with an ice keel in the Arctic Ocean.During the interaction process,the internal surge was generated at first,and then the wave gradually steepened due to non-linearity during its propagation away from the ice keel.The internal surge eventually disintegrated into multi-modal and rank-ordered ISW packets with the largest having an amplitude of O(10)m.Sensitivity experiments demonstrated that the ISWs’amplitudes and energy were proportional to the varying ice keel depths and barotropic tidal fl ow amplitudes,but were insensitive to the changing ice keel widths.Typical ISWs can enhance the turbulent dissipation rate of O(10^(-6))W/kg along their propagation path.Further,heat entrainment induced by the wave-ice interaction can reach O(10)MJ/m per tidal cycle.This study reveals a particular ISW generation mechanism and process in the polar ice environment,which could be important in impacting the energy transfer and heat balance in the Arctic Ocean.

文摘Upper ocean mixing plays a key role in the atmosphere-ocean heat transfer and sea ice extent and thickness via modulating the upper ocean temperatures in the Arctic Ocean.Observations of diffusivities in the Arctic that directly indicate the ocean mixing properties are sparse.Therefore,the spatiotemporal pattern and magnitude of diapycnal diffusivities and kinetic energy dissipation rates in the upper Arctic Ocean are important for atmosphere-ocean heat transfers and sea ice changes.These were first estimated from the Ice-Tethered Profilers dataset(2005–2019)using a strain-based fine-scale parameterization.The resultant mixing properties showed signifi cant geographical inhomogeneity and temporal variability.Diapycnal diff usivities and dissipation rates in the Atlantic sector of the Arctic Ocean were stronger than those on the Pacific side.Mixing in the Atlantic sector increased significantly during the observation period;whereas in the Pacific sector,it weakened before 2011 and then strengthened.Potential impact factors include wind,sea ice,near inertial waves,and stratifi cation,while their relative contributions vary between the two sectors of the Arctic Ocean.In the Atlantic sector,turbulent mixing dominated,while in the Pacific sector,turbulent mixing was inhibited by strong stratification prior to 2011,and is able to overcome the stratifi cation gradually after 2014.The vertical turbulent heat fl ux constantly increased in the Atlantic sector year by year,while it decreased in the Pacific sector post 2010.The estimated heat flux variability induced by enhanced turbulent mixing is expected to continue to diminish sea ice in the near future.

文摘Marine benthic dinoflagellates in the genus Coolia were reported in both tropical and temperate regions.We conducted a morphological and phylogenetic characterization of Coolia species from Hainan Island,South China Sea.The morphologies of three Coolia species were similar to those of the original descriptions of Coolia canariensis,C.tropicalis,and C.malayensis.In phylogenetic analyses based on the LSU rDNA and ITS regions(ITS1-5.8 S-ITS2),the Hainan strains of C.canariensis,C.tropicalis,and C.malayensis clustered within the clades of these species with other isolates from different areas.No differences(p-distance)in LSU rDNA sequences were found between the Hainan C.malayensis strains and the strains from New Zealand,Florida of USA,Malaysia,Japan,Dominican Republic and Guangxi and Hong Kong of China.For C.canariensis and C.tropicalis,no differences(p-distance)in the LSU rDNA sequences were found between the Hainan strains(D1 C2 and DS5 F4,respectively)and the Australian strains(NQAIF252 and NQAIF90,respectively).Our study reveals the morphological and genetic diversity of Coolia species from Hainan Island,South China Sea,which provides a detailed understanding of Coolia species of this area.

文摘Nonlinear internal waves(NIWs) are ubiquitous around the Kara Sea, a part of the Arctic Ocean that is north of Siberia. Three hot spot sources for internal waves, one of which is the Kara Strait, have been identified based on Envisat ASAR. The generation and evolution of the NIWs through the interactions of the tide and topography across the strait is studied based on a nonhydrostatic numerical model. The model captures most wave characteristics shown by satellite data. A typical inter-packets distance on the Barents Sea side is about 25 km in summer, with a phase speed about 0.65 m/s. A northward background current may intensify the accumulation of energy during generation, but it has little influence on the other properties of the generated waves. The single internal solitary wave(ISW) structure is a special phenomenon that follows major wave trains, with a distance about 5–8 km. This wave is generated with the leading wave packets during the same tidal period. When a steady current toward the Kara Sea is included, the basic generation process is similar, but the waves toward the Kara Sea weaken and display an internal bore-like structure with smaller amplitude than in the control experiment. In winter, due to the growth of sea ice, stratification across the Kara Strait is mainly determined by the salinity, with an almost uniform temperature close to freezing. A pycnocline deepens near the middle of the water depth(Barents Sea side), and the NIWs process is not as important as the NIWs process in summer. There is no fission process during the simulation.

文摘Users of the digital image correlation method are faced with the problem of poor operability,low repeatability,and lack of standardized specifications for spraying speckles.To solve the problem,the research proposed a rock deformation measurement method that obviates the need to spray speckles.A local binary model was established by using the local binary pattern(LBP)operator based on deep texture features on rock surfaces.The resulting LBP digital speckle pattern can substitute artificial speckle patterns and demonstrates high quality and strong applicability.Based on the LBP digital speckle pattern,the target tracking algorithm was employed to achieve non-contact measurement of the dynamic displacements of rocks.The feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm in practical application were verified by conducting shear tests on granite and siltstone.Test results show that the deformation characteristics in the displacement nephograms are in line with the measured data pertaining to rock fracturing and conform to the basic characteristics of the shear failure of rocks.The deformation measurement method based on surface texture information can realize non-contact displacement measurement of rocks under conditions without speckles:this obviates the influence of the quality of sprayed speckles on the accuracy of the measurement of deformation.

文摘AIM: To explore feasibility and practicability of macula localization independent of macular morphological features. METHODS: A novel method was proposed to identify macula in fundus images by using structure label transfer. Its main idea was to match a processed image with the candidate images with known structures, and then transfer the structure label representing the macular to the processed image as a result of macula localization. In this way, macula localization couldn't be influenced by lesion or other interference any more. RESULTS: The average success rate in four datasets was 98.18%. For accuracy, the average error distance in four datasets was 0.151 optic disc diameter (ODD). Even for severe lesion images, the proposed method can still maintain high success rate and high accuracy, e.g., 95.65% and 0.124 ODD in the case of STARE dataset, respectively, which indicated that the proposed method was highly robust and stable in the complicated situations. CONCLUSION: The proposed method can avoid the interference of lesion to macular morphological features in macula localization, and can locate macula with high accuracy and robustness, verifying its feasibility.
文摘Objective: This study evaluated the therapeutic effect of external beam radiotherapy (RT) combined with trans- catheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on the patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: From June 1994 to April 2002, 114 patients with unresectable HCC were nonrandomized prospectively stepped into our study. All patients received TACE as initial therapy, except 54 also received combination therapy with external beam therapy. Sur- vival failure patterns were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results: Overall survival rates in the patients in the radiotherapy group were 65%, 47%, 38% at 1, 2, 3 years, respectively, improved over the non-radiotherapy group rates of 54%, 36.5%, 18% at 1, 2, 3 years, respectively. There was significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05). The survival rates correlated with tumor size, number of tumors, and portal vein embolus. Conclusion: TACE combined with RT is a more effective treatment than TACE alone in patients with unresectable HCC.

文摘Rivers are important habitats for wintering waterbirds.However,they are easily influenced by natural and human activities.An important approach for waterbirds to adapt to habitats is adjusting the activity time and energy expenditure allocation of diurnal behavior.The compensatory foraging hypothesis predicts that increased energy expenditure leads to longer foraging time,which in turn increases food intake and helps maintain a constant energy balance.However,it is unclear whether human-disturbed habitats result in increased energy expenditure related to safety or foraging.In this study,the scan sample method was used to observe the diurnal behavior of the wintering Spot-billed Duck(Anas poecilorhyncha) in two rivers in the Xin’an River Basin from October 2021 to March 2022.The allocation of time and energy expenditure for activity in both normal and disturbed environments was calculated.The results showed that foraging accounted for the highest percentage of time and energy expenditure.Additionally,foraging decreased in the disturbed environment than that in the normal environment.Resting behavior showed the opposite trend,while other behaviors were similar in both environments.The total diurnal energy expenditure of ducks in the disturbed environment was greater than that in the normal environment,with decreased foraging and resting time percentage and increased behaviors related to immediate safety(swimming and alert) and comfort.These results oppose the compensatory foraging hypothesis in favor of increased security.The optimal diurnal energy expenditure model included river width and water depth,which had a positive relationship;an increase in either of these two factors resulted in an increase in energy expenditure.This study provides a better understanding of energy allocation strategies underlying the superficial time allocation of wintering waterbirds according to environmental conditions.Exploring these changes can help understand the maximum fitness of wintering waterbirds in response to nature and human influences.

文摘In this study, the effect of reduced graphene oxide(rGO) on interconnected Co_3O_4 nanosheets and the improved supercapacitive behaviors is reported. By optimizing the experimental parameters, we achieved a specific capacitance of ~1016.4 F g^(-1) for the Co_3O_4/rGO/NF(nickel foam) system at a current density of 1 A g^(-1). However, the Co_3O_4/NF structure without rGO only delivers a specific capacitance of ~520.0 F g^(-1)at the same current density. The stability test demonstrates that Co_3O_4/rGO/NF retains ~95.5% of the initial capacitance value even after 3000 charge–discharge cycles at a high current density of 7 A g^(-1). Further investigation reveals that capacitance improvement for the Co_3O_4/rGO/NF structure is mainly because of a higher specific surface area(~87.8 m^2g^(-1))and a more optimal mesoporous size(4–15 nm) compared to the corresponding values of 67.1 m^2g^(-1) and 6–25 nm,respectively, for the Co_3O_4/NF structure. rGO and the thinner Co_3O_4 nanosheets benefit from the strain relaxation during the charge and discharge processes, improving the cycling stability of Co_3O_4/rGO/NF.

文摘Objective:Several anti-programmed cell death 1(anti-PD-1)antibodies have demonstrated potential efficacy in the treatment of advanced esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC).However,the response to subsequent chemotherapy after the failure of PD-1 blockade in ESCC patients has not been reported,and the optimal sequencing of immunotherapy and chemotherapy remains controversial.The aim of the present study was to evaluate responses to irinotecan-based subsequent chemotherapy in advanced ESCC patients who had progressed after treatment with camrelizumab(SHR-1210),a novel anti-PD-1 antibody.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with advanced ESCC treated with camrelizumab at a single institution.Consecutive patients who received subsequent irinotecan-based chemotherapy were selected for data collection and analysis.Results:Overall,a total of 28 patients were included.All patients had received at least two lines of systemic treatment prior to irinotecan salvage.The most common regimen that was administered after PD-1 blockade was irinotecan in combination with 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu)(or its derivatives),which was given to 19 patients.The objective response rate(ORR)and disease control rate(DCR)were 17.9%(5/28)and 64.3%(18/28),respectively,with 5(17.9%)patients achieving a partial response and 13(46.4%)having stable disease.The median progressionfree survival(PFS)was 3.18[95%confidence interval(95%CI),2.48-3.88]months and the median overall survival(OS)was 6.23(95%CI,4.71-7.75)months.No new safety issues,either immune-related or otherwise,were observed.Conclusions:Our results suggested that the response to irinotecan-based chemotherapy after PD-1 blockade in advanced ESCC patients appeared similar to that previously observed in patients who had not received PD-1 antibodies,and further study in larger cohorts or randomized trials is warranted to verify our observation.
