In industrial process control, fluid level control is one of the most basic aspects. Many control methods such as on-off, linear and PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) were developed time by time and used for precise controlling of fluid level. Due to flaws of PID controller in non-linear type processes such as inertial lag, time delay and time varying etc., there is a need of alternative design methodology that can be applied in both linear and non-linear systems and it can be execute with fuzzy concept. By using fuzzy logic, designer can realize lower development cost, superior feature and better end product. In this paper, level of fluid in tank is control by using fuzzy logic concept. For this purpose, a simulation system of fuzzy logic controller for fluid level control is designed using simulation packages of MATLAB software such as Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and Simulink. The designed fuzzy logic controller first takes information about inflow and outflow of fluid in tank than maintain the level of fluid in tank by controlling its output valve. In this paper, a controller is designed on five rules using two-input and one-output parameters. At the end, simulation results of fuzzy logic based controller are compared with classical PID controller and it shows that fuzzy logic controller has better stability, fast response and small overshoot. 展开更多

This advancement in technology also increased the traffic hazards. Hence the ratio of road accidents which take place frequently increases causing immense loss of life due to poor emergency facilities. Main causes behind these road accidents include: lack of training institutes, unskilled drivers, poor road conditions, use of cell phone during driving, over loading and poor governmental plans in this regard. Our research provides a solution for accident detection and prevention for human life safety. It enables intelligent detection of an accident at any place and reports about the accident on predefined numbers. Our system consists of two parts, alarming part and messaging part. The hardware includes SONAR ranging modules, vibration sensor, three modules GPS receiver (NMEA), Microcontroller (AT89S51), GSM modem (SIM 900D) and an Alarm. When distance is too short between the vehicle and obstacle then alarm will be “ON” as an indicator to move vehicle in other direction which is safer but when a vehicle faces accident despite of alarm, immediately vibration sensor will detect the signal and then Microcontroller sends the alert message through the GSM modem including the location to predefined numbers that can be reserved for a rescue team. Our designed system has been tested at different locations and found to be effectively working by sending alert messages to mobile phone user. 展开更多

Simulation model is also developed that corresponds to the Markovian analytical model using Java modeling tool (JMT). This is a new and efficient discrete event tool for queuing network modeling and workload analysis. QoS metrics have been evaluated for the multi-rate traffic in multiple scenari- os. Results obtained from simulation are compared for validation and analysis. Outcomes show that the proposed model is more efficient than the conventional method by improving residence time, re- sponse time, increasing system throughput and efficiency at queuing level with a slight degradation in call acceptance factor. 展开更多

In order to over- come the inherited issues in conventional back propagation algorithm i.e. slow convergence rate, longer training time, hard to achieve global minima etc. , different methods have been used including the introduction of dynamic learning rate and dynamic momentum coefficient etc. With the passage of time different techniques has been used to improve the dynamicity of these coefficients. The meth- od applied in this paper improves the effect of learning coefficient η by using a new way to modify the value dynamically during learning process. The experimental results show that this helps in im- proving the efficiency overall both in visual effect and quality analysis. 展开更多

It is observed that by using this method the value of mean square error (MSE) decreases significantly. In addition, this method also gives good visual results when it is applied in image resto- ration problem. This method is also useful to tackle the inherited drawback of falling into local mini- ma by reducing its effect on overall system by bifurcating the learning locally different for different grey scale values. The performance of this algorithm has been studied in detail with different combi- nations of weights. In short, this algorithm provides much better results especially when compared with the simple back propagation algorithm with any further enhancements and without going for hy- brid solutions. 展开更多

Controlling Speed of DC Motor with Fuzzy Controller in Comparison with ANFIS Controller

Machines have served the humanity starting from a simple ceiling fan to higher industrial applications such as lathe drives and conveyor belts. This research work aims at providing an appropriate software based control system because it provides computer featured applications, prevents rapid signal loss, reduces noise while also significantly improves the steady state and dynamic response of the motor. In this research paper, we have worked on DC motors due to its significant advantages over other types of machine drives. We have first individually studied Fuzzy and ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Interference System) controller in controlling speed for a separately excited DC motor. Afterwards, we have analyzed both results to conclude that which technique is better to be adopted for precisely controlling the speed of DC motor. Outcomes from MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox for simulation of our schematic has been provided in this research work. Our study parameters include input voltage of DC motor, its speed, percentage overshoot and rising time of the output signal. Our proposed research has interpreted the outcomes that ANFIS controller is better than Fuzzy controller because it produces less percentage overshoot and causes less distortion of the output signal as the overshoot percentage of ANFIS controller is 8.2% while that of Fuzzy controller is 14.4%. 展开更多
