Currently,the effective and clean suppression of lithium-ion battery(LIB)fires remains a challenge.The present work investigates the use of various inhibitor doses(Xin)of dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one(C_(6) F_(12)...Currently,the effective and clean suppression of lithium-ion battery(LIB)fires remains a challenge.The present work investigates the use of various inhibitor doses(Xin)of dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one(C_(6) F_(12)O)in 300 Ah LIBs,and systematically examines the thermal and toxic hazards of the extinguished batteries via real scale combustion and gas analysis.The inhibitor is shown to be completely effective.The inhibition mechanism involves a combination of chemical inhibition and physical cooling.While the chemical inhibition effect tends to saturate with increasing Xin,the physical cooling remains effective at higher inhibitor doses.However,extinguishing the battery fire with a high Xin of C_(6)F_(12)O is found to incur serious toxicity problems.These results are expected to provide a guideline for the design of inhibitor doses for the suppression of LIB fires.展开更多

The aim of the present study was to explore the effects of annexin A1(ANXA1) mimetic peptide AC2-26 on sepsis-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis in vivo and in vitro and the underlying mechanisms.In the in vivo study,a r...The aim of the present study was to explore the effects of annexin A1(ANXA1) mimetic peptide AC2-26 on sepsis-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis in vivo and in vitro and the underlying mechanisms.In the in vivo study,a rat septic model was established by the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP).The rats were divided into control group,sepsis group and AC2-26 group.The rats in the AC2-26 group were intraperitoneally injected with AC2-26(1mg/kg)2h before CLP,and those in the control group and sepsis group were injected with the same volume of normal saline.The myocardial tissue was examined by hematoxylin and eosin (HE)staining and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).Furthermore,myocardial apoptosis was measured by terminal dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL)assay.In the in vitro study,H9C2cells were cultured and divided into three groups:control group,in which cells were only given the basic culture medium;LPS group,in which cells were treated with 10μg/mL LPS;AC2-26 group,in which cells were treated with 0.5μmol/L AC2-262h before 10μg/mL LPS was given.The apoptosis of H9C2 cells was detected by flow cytometry.The levels of lipoxin A4 receptor (LXA4),phosphoinositide3-kinase (PI3K)and protein kinase B (PKB or AKT)protein were measured by Western blotting, the activity of NF-KB and the level of TNF-α by ELISA and the activities of caspase-3/8by using the caspase activity kits.The in vivo study showed that the myocardial pathological damage and myocardial ultrastructural damage were significantly alleviated and the myocardial apoptosis significantly decreased in the AC2-26 group as compared with the sepsis group (P<0.05 for all). The in vivo study revealed that the apoptosis of H9C2 cells was profoundly ameliorated in the AC2-26 group relative to the sepsis group (P<0.05).The protein expression levels of LXA4 were significantly up-regulated,and those of PI3K and AKT prominently down-regulated in the AC2-26 group when compared with those in the LPS group (P<0.05 for all).The activity of NF-κB was greatly inhibited and the level of TNF-α markedly decreased in the AC2-26 group as compared with those in the LPS group (P<0.05 for all).AC2-26 treatment also significantly suppressed the activities of caspase-3/8 in H9C2 cells.In conclusion,these findings suggest that AC2-26 may alleviate the sepsis-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis in vivo and in vivo through the LXA4/PI3K/ AKT signaling pathway.展开更多
The reactive adsorption desulfurization of model gasoline was carried out on Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent.The Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent was characterized by N2adsorption-desorption test(BET),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),and temperature...The reactive adsorption desulfurization of model gasoline was carried out on Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent.The Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent was characterized by N2adsorption-desorption test(BET),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),and temperature-programmed reduction(TPR)analysis.The test results have demonstrated that HY-zeolite is a feasible support for Ni/ZnO components used in reactive adsorption desulfurization.The results of XRD and TPR analyses showed that most of nickel element was present as Ni2+species with only a small part existing as Ni3+species,and the Ni2+species had interactions with HY-zeolite.Under the conditions of this study,which specified a 50% ratio of HY-zeolite in the adsorbent,a Zn/Ni molar ratio of 10,and a reduction temperature of 400℃,the Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent showed the best desulfurization performance.The sulfur capacity of Ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent could be recovered to 92.19% of the fresh one after being subjected to regeneration at 500℃,and could be maintained at 82.17% of the fresh one after 5 regeneration cycles.展开更多
Objective:To investigate the biochemical constituents of the fruits of Terminalia bellerica(Gaertn.)Roxb.(hereafter termed T.bellerica)and estimate the anti-cancer activity of different polar extracts.Methods:To rapid...Objective:To investigate the biochemical constituents of the fruits of Terminalia bellerica(Gaertn.)Roxb.(hereafter termed T.bellerica)and estimate the anti-cancer activity of different polar extracts.Methods:To rapidly screen and identify the biochemical constituents of ethyl acetate(EA)extracts of T.bellerica,ultra performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization/mass spectrometry(UPLC-ESI-MSn)was done.The CellTiter-BlueTM cell-viability assay was used to ascertain the anti-cancer activity of different polar extracts in 10 human cancer cell lines.Results:Forty polyphenols of the EA extract of T.bellerica were characterized tentatively.The EA extract exhibited significant anti-cancer activity against ZR-75-1 cells(half-maximal inhibitory concentration=27.33(0.98)μg/mL)and Colo-205 cells(39.65(2.99)μg/mL)in vitro.Treatment of ZR-75-1 cells with 20 and 60μg/mL of the EA extract elicited dosedependent apoptosis percentages at an early stage of 17.58(0.74)%and at a late stage of 29.20(1.22)%;Colo-205 cells at the same concentration of EA extract had values of 21.33(1.03)%and 40.55(0.34)%,respectively.Western blotting suggested that ZR-75-1 and Colo205 cells treated with the EA extract showed a similar increasing tendency for expression of cleaved anti-poly adenosine diphosphate ribose polymerase I.Conclusion:We identified a total of 40 chemical constituents,of which 11 were first obtained from the Terminalia Linn.genus using UPLC-ESI-MSn.Meanwhile,we observe that the EA extract of T.bellerica possesses anti-cancer activity,especially against breast and colon cancers.展开更多

The activat...In this paper, a low-cost activated carbon(AC) was prepared from deactivated resin catalyst(DRC) for methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE) synthesis through carbonization and subsequent steam activation treatment. The activated carbon was characterized in detail. After loading various transition metals, including Cu^(2+), Ag+, Co^(2+), Ni^(2+), Zn^(2+), and Fe^(3+) via the ultrasonic-assisted impregnation method, a series of metal-loaded adsorbents(xM-AC) were obtained and their dimethyl sulfide(DMS) adsorption performance was investigated in a batch system. Among these adsorbents, 15Cu-AC presented a superior DMS adsorption capacity equating to 58.986 mg/g due to the formation of S-M(σ) bonds between Cu^(2+) and sulfur atoms of DMS as confirmed by the Raman spectra and kinetic study.展开更多

Background:The Rufous-backed Bunting,Emberiza jankowskii,is an endangered species that is primarily distributed in Inner Mongolia,China.The main threats to the continued persistence of this species are habitat loss an...Background:The Rufous-backed Bunting,Emberiza jankowskii,is an endangered species that is primarily distributed in Inner Mongolia,China.The main threats to the continued persistence of this species are habitat loss and degradation.However,the impact of population loss on genetic diversity remains unclear.To support future conservation and management efforts,we assessed the genetic diversity and population structure of E.jankowskii using mitochondrial DNA and microsatellites.Methods:Blood samples were collected from 7-8-day-old nestlings in Inner Mongolia,China between May and August of 2012 and 2013.Mitochondrial DNA sequences and microsatellite markers were used to assess the genetic diversity,genetic structure and inbreeding of E.jankowskii.The results of genetic diversity and inbreeding were compared to other avian species.Results:We found an unexpectedly high level of genetic diversity in terms of mitochondrial DNA and microsatellite compared to other avian species.However,there were high levels of gene flow and minimal genetic structuring,among the fragmented breeding populations of E.jankowskii in Inner Mongolia.These findings suggest that E.jankowskii in Inner Mongolia is a metapopulation.Despite the high genetic diversity of E.jankowskii,local populations in each small patch remain at risk of extinction due to habitat loss.In addition,the E.jankowskii population has a high risk of inbreeding.Conclusions:To minimize further loss of genetic diversity of this endangered species,we suggest that the E.jankowskii in Inner Mongolia should be considered as a protected species for management purposes.Conservation efforts should concentrate on E.jankowskii habitat management.This may be most effectively achieved by protecting the current breeding habitats and prohibiting over-grazing.展开更多
