The involvement of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-localized adenylate transporter1(ER-ANT1)in photorespiratory metabolism has been established,yet its precise physiological function remains uncertain.Rice er-ant1 mutan...The involvement of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-localized adenylate transporter1(ER-ANT1)in photorespiratory metabolism has been established,yet its precise physiological function remains uncertain.Rice er-ant1 mutant plants grown in ambient air exhibited stunted growth and substantial alterations in amino acid metabolites,but recovery in a high CO_(2) condition(1.5%).We show that the absence of ERANT1 hindered the breakdown of glycine without affecting its synthesis,leading to a substantial accumulation of glycine,diminished levels of serine,and depleted reserves of glutamate and alanine.Intriguingly,the er-ant1 plants grown in high CO_(2) and later exposed to ambient air displayed reduced serine levels within 12 h,yet they accumulated serine a week after transferring to ambient air due to induced phosphorylated serine synthesis pathways.Furthermore,knockout of ER-ANT1 marginally impacted the transcription of genes governing core enzymes in photorespiration,but notably upregulated BOU expression that encodes a putative mitochondrial glutamate transporter and AGAT1 that encodes an alanine:glyoxylate aminotransferase gene.Surprisingly,AGAT1,an ER-localized protein,exhibited higher activity that correlates with the decreased alanine levels observed in the er-ant1 mutant.Lack of ER-ANT1 activity also led to a significantly elevated NADH/NAD+ratio that potentially hinders the glycine-to-serine conversion process.This supports the hypothesis that the lack of ER-ANT1-induced limitation of ATP usage might inhibit GDC activity by modulating the NADH/NAD+ratio.Moreover,non-proteinogenic amino acids,including b-alanine and c-aminobutyrate(GABA),underwent significant alterations,even under high CO_(2) conditions in the er-ant mutant,implying additional non-photorespiration roles of ER-ANT1.Taken together,our results indicate that ER-localized ER-ANT1 plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism during photorespiration.展开更多

Background and Objective:Heparanase-1 (HPA-1) can promote angiogenesis and metastasis of malignant tumors and plays an important role in the genesis and development of tumors.This study was to explore the effects of s...Background and Objective:Heparanase-1 (HPA-1) can promote angiogenesis and metastasis of malignant tumors and plays an important role in the genesis and development of tumors.This study was to explore the effects of specific small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting HPA-1 combined with heparin on invasiveness of mouse hepatocellular carcinoma cells.Methods:The expression of HPA-1 in Hca-F, Hca-P, and Hepa1-6 cells, which have high, low, and no metastatic potential, respectively, was analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), Western blot analysis and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).After transfection with two specific siRNAs targeting HPA-1, siRNA-1 and siRNA-2, and treatment with heparin, invasiveness of Hca-F cells was observed by Matrigel invasion assay.Results:HPA-1 was negative in Hepa1-6 cells while positive in both Hca-F and Hca-P cells.The expression levels of both HPA-1 mRNA and protein were obviously higher in Hca-F cells than in Hca-P cells.HPA-1 proteins could be secreted into culture supernatant of Hca-F and Hca-P cells, and the amount of secreted HPA-1 detected by Western blot analysis was larger in Hca-F cells than in Hca-P cells (1.34±0.02 vs.0.60±0.01, P<0.001), which was consistent with the results of ELISA.Both siRNA-1 and siRNA-2 downregulated the expression of HPA-1 and the siRNA-2 did more efficiently.The number of invasive Hca-F cells treated with siRNA-2 or heparin alone was larger than that of Hca-F cells treated with combination of them (9±1 vs.4±1, P=0.013; 15±2 vs.4±1, P=0.008), but smaller than that of untreated Hca-F cells (9±1 vs.22±2, P=0.006; 15±2 vs.22±2, P=0.026).Conclusion:The combined application of specific siRNA targeting HPA-1 and heparin is more effective in inhibiting the invasiveness of mouse hepatoma cells.展开更多
Twenty-seven FHDZ-M15 combined geomagnetic observation systems(each of which is equipped with a fluxgate magnetometer and a proton magnetometer)had been installed in the China geomagnetic network before the 2008 Wench...Twenty-seven FHDZ-M15 combined geomagnetic observation systems(each of which is equipped with a fluxgate magnetometer and a proton magnetometer)had been installed in the China geomagnetic network before the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake,during which coseismic disturbances were recorded by 26 fluxgate magnetometer observatories.The geomagnetic disturbances have similar spatial and temporal patterns to seismic waves,except for various delays.Six proton magnetometer observatories recorded coseismic disturbances with very small amplitudes.In addition,fluxgate magnetometers registered largeamplitude disturbances that are likely to have included responses to seismic waves.However,two problems remain unresolved.First,why do these geomagnetic disturbances always arrive later than P waves?Second,why do the geomagnetic disturbances have spatial and temporal directivity similar to the main rupture direction of the earthquake?Solving these two problems may be crucial to find the mechanism responsible for generating these geomagnetic anomalies.展开更多

The use of s...In the global climate system, the polar regions are sensitive indicators of climate change, in which sea ice plays an important role. Satellite remote sensing is a significant tool for monitoring sea ice. The use of synthetic aperture radar(SAR) images to distinguish sea ice from sea water is one of the current research hotspots in this topic. To distinguish sea ice from the open sea, the polarization ratio characteristics of sea ice and sea water are studied for L-band and C-band radars, based on an electromagnetic scattering model of sea ice derived from the integral equation method(IEM) and the radiative transfer(RT) model. Numerical experiments are carried out based on the model and the results are given as follows. For L-band, the polarization ratio for sea water depends only on the incident angle, while the polarization ratio for sea ice is related to the incident angle and the ice thickness. For C-band, the sea water polarization ratio is influenced by the incident angle and the root mean square(RMS) height of the sea surface. For C-band, for small to medium incident angles,the polarization ratio for bare sea ice is mainly determined by the incident angle and ice thickness. When the incident angle increases, the RMS height will also affect the polarization ratio for bare sea ice. If snow covers the sea ice, then the polarization ratio for sea ice decreases and is affected by the RMS height of snow surface, snow thickness, volume fraction and the radius of scatterers. The results show that the sea ice and the open sea can be distinguished by using either L-band or C-band radar according to their polarization ratio difference. However, the ability of L-band to make this differentiation is higher than that of C-band.展开更多
Manually picking regularly and densely distributed first breaks(FBs)are critical for shallow velocitymodel building in seismic data processing.However,it is time consuming.We employ the fullyconvolutional Seg Net to a...Manually picking regularly and densely distributed first breaks(FBs)are critical for shallow velocitymodel building in seismic data processing.However,it is time consuming.We employ the fullyconvolutional Seg Net to address this issue and present a fast automatic seismic waveform classification method to pick densely-sampled FBs directly from common-shot gathers with sparsely distributed traces.Through feeding a large number of representative shot gathers with missing traces and the corresponding binary labels segmented by manually interpreted fully-sampled FBs,we can obtain a welltrained Seg Net model.When any unseen gather including the one with irregular trace spacing is inputted,the Seg Net can output the probability distribution of different categories for waveform classification.Then FBs can be picked by locating the boundaries between one class on post-FBs data and the other on pre-FBs background.Two land datasets with each over 2000 shots are adopted to illustrate that one well-trained 25-layer Seg Net can favorably classify waveform and further pick fully-sampled FBs verified by the manually-derived ones,even when the proportion of randomly missing traces reaches50%,21 traces are missing consecutively,or traces are missing regularly.展开更多
Objective Our study aimed to analyze the expression of miR-564 and TGF-β1 in cancer tissues and the serum of patients with radiation-induced lung injury,and to investigate the relationship between them and radiation-...Objective Our study aimed to analyze the expression of miR-564 and TGF-β1 in cancer tissues and the serum of patients with radiation-induced lung injury,and to investigate the relationship between them and radiation-induced lung injury.Methods In situ hybridization and real-time fluorescence quantitative method were used to detect the expression of miR-564.Additionally,immunohistochemistry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)were performed to detect the expression of TGF-β1.Results The overall incidence of acute radiation pneumonia was 55.9%(100/179).The incidence of≥grade 2 radioactive pneumonia was 24.0%(43/179)and that of grade 1 was 31.8%(57/179).The expression of miR-564 in grade≥2 was slightly higher than that in patients without or with grade 1,but there was no statistical difference(P=0.86).The serum level and ratio of miR-564 in patients with grade≥2 were significantly higher than those without or with grade 1(P=0.005,P=0.025,respectively).The expression of TGF-β1 in grade≥2 was significantly higher than that of patients without or with grade 1(P=0.017).The serum levels of TGF-β1 in grade≥2 were significantly higher than those in patients without or with grade 1(P=0.038).Although the ratio of TGF-β1 in radiation pneumonia of grade≥2 was significantly higher than that of without or with grade 1,there was no significant difference(P=0.24).Moreover,patients with higher expression of miR-564 and lower expression of TGF-β1 had better prognosis.Conclusion MiR-564 and TGF-β1 are predictors of radiation-induced lung injury.Monitoring its changing trend can improve the accuracy of predicting radiation-induced lung injury.The levels and ratio of serum miR-564 and TGF-β1 in patients with radiation-induced lung injury are related to the severity of radiationinduced lung injury.展开更多
We used discrete dipole approximation(DDA)to examine the scattering and absorption characteristics of spherical ice crystal particles.On this basis,we studied the scattering characteristics of spherical ice crystal pa...We used discrete dipole approximation(DDA)to examine the scattering and absorption characteristics of spherical ice crystal particles.On this basis,we studied the scattering characteristics of spherical ice crystal particles at different frequencies and non-spherical ice crystal particles with different shapes,aspect ratios,and spatial orientations.The results indicate that the DDA and Mie methods yield almost the same results for spherical ice crystal particles,illustrating the superior calculation accuracy of the DDA method.Compared with the millimeter wave band,the terahertz band particles have richer scattering characteristics and can detect ice crystal particles more easily.Different frequencies,shapes,aspect ratios,and spatial orientations have specific effects on the scattering and absorption characteristics o f ice crystal particles.The results provide an important theoretical basis for the design of terahertz cloud radars and related cirrus detection methods.展开更多

In order to analyze...Lushan Ms7.0 earthquake occurred in Lushan county, Ya'an city, Sichuan province of China, on 20 April 2013, and caused 196 deaths, 23 people of missing and more than 12 thousand of people injured. In order to analyze the possible seismic brightness temperature anomalies which may be associated with Lushan earthquake, daily brightness temperature data for the period from 1 June 2011 to 31 May 2013 and the geographical extent of 25°E-35°N latitude and 98°E-108°E longitude are collected from Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite FY-2E. Continuous wavelet transform method which has good resolution both in time and frequency domains is used to analyze power spectrum of brightness temperature data. The results show that the rela- tive wavelet power spectrum (RWPS) anomalies appeared since 24 January 2013 and still lasted on 19 April. Anomalies firstly appeared at the middle part of Longmenshan fault zone and gradually spread toward the southwestern part of Longmenshan fault. Anomalies also appeared along the Xianshuihe fault since about 1 March. Eventually, anomalies gathered at the intersection zone of Longmenshan and Xianshuihe faults. The anomalous areas and RWPS ampli- tude increased since the appearance of anomalies and reached maximum in late March. Anomalies attenuated with the earthquake approaching. And eventually the earthquake occurred at the southeastern edge of anomalous areas. Lushah earthquake was the only obvious geological event within the anomalous area during the time period, so the anomalous changes of RWPS are possibly associated with the earthquake.展开更多

On 9 May 2008, three days before the Wenchuan MS 8.0 shock, an...The hourly data of the vertical Z and the horizontal H components of 37 ground-based DC-ULF geomagnetic stations are examined during 20 April-12 May 2008. On 9 May 2008, three days before the Wenchuan MS 8.0 shock, anomalies-a double low-point and a decreased amplitude-are registered on the curves of the Z component at 25 stations in a large-scale area surrounding the Wenchuan epicentral area. The H component shows none of the double low-point phenomenon but does exhibit a reduced magnitude at the same time. The geomagnetic index Kp is also examined and indicates that the anomalies appear at a solar quiet period. The appearing time shift(Tzs) between the first low-point on May 9 and the minimum point occurring time of May 1-5, 2008 is also checked.The results show that Tzs is on the order of 1-2 hours earlier or later than usual and there is a 2-6 hours’ gap between these two lowpoints. However, there is still a transition area which includes the epicenter where Tzs=0. Variation amplitude examined on vertical Z increases as the distance from the epicenter decreases. An Earth-air-ionosphere model has been employed to investigate a possible mechanism of this phenomenon and positive results have been unexpectedly attained. All these above-related results tend to prove that the variations of the Z and H on May 9, 2008 during the solar quiet period are probably associated with the forthcoming Wenchuan MS 8.0 earthquake.展开更多

The fusion phytase phyA^m-phyCs gene was successfully overexpressed in P. pastoris as an active and extracellular phytase. The yield of total extracellular fusion phytase activity is (25.4±0.53) U/ml at the flask scale and (159.1±2.92) U/ml for high cell-density fermentation, respectively. Purified fusion phytase exhibits an optimal temperature at 55 ℃ and an optimal pH at 5.5-6.0 and its relative activity remains at a relatively high level of above 70% in the range ofpH 2.0 to 7.0. About 51% to 63% of its original activity remains after incubation at 75 ℃ to 95 ℃ for 10 min. Due to heavy glycosylation, the expressed fusion phytase shows a broad and diffuse band in SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). After deglycosylation by endoglycosidase H (EndoHf), the enzyme has an apparent molecular size of 95 kDa. The characterization of the fusion phytase was compared with those ofphyCs andphyA^m.展开更多

Cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) have positive effects on patients with Parkinson’s Disease Dementia (PDD). But it is only improve symptoms. There is no etiological cure for PDD. So, In order to achieve the best outcomes, the combination of ChEIs and other therapeutic strategies is needed to study.?In the present study, we investigate the efficacy and safety of rivastigmine combined with Reinhartdt and Sea Cucumber Capsule (RSC) in patients with mild-to-moderate PDD, and its effect on thyroid function.?There were 52 patients were randomly assigned to receive either rivastigmine (3 mg/ day) or rivastigmine plus RSC (2.7 g/day) treatment for 24 weeks. Efficacy was investigated by the change of the scores of Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog), Activities of Daily Life (ADL) and Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) part III (motor scale). Meanwhile, thyroid hormone levels were detected before and after 12 weeks, 24 weeks treatment in all patients. Results showed that?the patients treated with rivastigmine plus RSC showed more improvement in the cognition and the daily life activities compared to those treated with rivastigmine alone. Significant difference was present after being treated for 12 weeks or more. However, no group difference was found on UPDRS part III, thyroid hormone level change and the incidence of adverse events (11.1% vs 16.0%) between the two groups of treatment. Adverse effects were nausea and vomiting which were the main reasons for the dropout. The finding suggests that Rivastigmine plus RSC may improves the treatment effects in cognition and the ADL of the patients with mild-to-moderate PDD, compared with the rivastigmine treatment alone. However, no effect was observed on the motor symptoms and thyroid hormone levels. In addition, this joint treatment is safe.展开更多

The sensing mechanism is based on the availability of reversible acid-base reactions between CO2 molecules and PEI at room temperature. The experimental results revealed that the PEI/starch sensor exhibited much higher sensitivity than that of pure PEI, and showed approximate linearity over a concentration region ranging from 500 ppm to 8000 ppm. The influence of humidity had also been investigated. Furthermore, the response and recovery time deceased as the operation temperatures increased. Finally, sensitivity loss after conservation for several days and reversibility of the sensors had been discussed.展开更多

High resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)measurements are carried out on CaKFe_4 As_4,KCa_2 Fe_4 As_4 F_2 and(Ba_(0.6)K_(0.4))Fe_2 As_2 superconductors.Clear evidence of band folding between the...High resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)measurements are carried out on CaKFe_4 As_4,KCa_2 Fe_4 As_4 F_2 and(Ba_(0.6)K_(0.4))Fe_2 As_2 superconductors.Clear evidence of band folding between the Brillouin zone center and corners with a(π,π)wave vector has been found from the measured Fermi surface and band structures in all the three kinds of superconductors.A dominant √2×√2 surface reconstruction is observed on the cleaved surface of CaKFe_4As_4 by scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)measurements.We propose that the commonly observed √2×√2 reconstruction in the FeAs-based superconductors provides a general scenario to understand the origin of the(π,π)band folding.Our observations provide new insights in understanding the electronic structure and superconductivity mechanism in iron-based superconductors.展开更多
Through a systematically developed theory,we demonstrate that the motion of Instanton identified in Zhang et al(2017 Phys.Plasmas 24122304)is highly correlated to the intermittent excitation and propagation of geodesi...Through a systematically developed theory,we demonstrate that the motion of Instanton identified in Zhang et al(2017 Phys.Plasmas 24122304)is highly correlated to the intermittent excitation and propagation of geodesic acoustic mode(GAM)that is observed in tokamaks.While many numerical simulations have observed the phenomena,it is the first theory that reveals the physical mechanism behind GAM intermittent excitation and propagation.The preceding work is based on the micro-turbulence associated with toroidal ion temperature gradient mode,and slab-based phenomenological model of zonal flow.When full toroidal effect is introduced into the system,two branches of zonal flow emerge:the torus-modified low frequency zonal flow(TLFZF),and GAM,necessitating a unified exploration of GAM and TLFZF.Indeed,we observe that the transition from the Caviton to Instanton is triggered by a rapid zero-crossing of radial group velocity of drift wave and is found to be strongly correlated with the GAM onset.Many features peculiar to intermittent GAMs,observed in real machines,are thus identified in the numerical experiment.The results will be displayed in figures and in a movie;first for single central rational surface,and then with coupled multiple central rational surfaces.The periodic bursting first shown disappears as being replaced by irregular one,more similar to the intermittent characteristics observed in GAM experiments.展开更多
There are two distinct phases in the evolution of drift wave envelope in the presence of zonal flow.A long-lived standing wave phase,which we call the Caviton,and a short-lived traveling wave phase(in radial direction...There are two distinct phases in the evolution of drift wave envelope in the presence of zonal flow.A long-lived standing wave phase,which we call the Caviton,and a short-lived traveling wave phase(in radial direction) we call the Instanton.Several abrupt phenomena observed in tokamaks,such as intermittent excitation of geodesic acoustic mode(GAM) shown in this paper,could be attributed to the sudden and fast radial motion of Instanton.The composite drift wave-zonal flow system evolves at the two well-separate scales:the micro-scale and the meso-scale.The eigenmode equation of the model defines the zero-order(micro-scale) variation;it is solved by making use of the two-dimensional(2 D) weakly asymmetric ballooning theory(WABT),a theory suitable for modes localized to rational surface like drift waves,and then refined by shifted inverse power method,an iterative finite difference method.The next order is the equation of electron drift wave(EDW) envelope(containing group velocity of EDW) which is modulated by the zonal flow generated by Reynolds stress of EDW.This equation is coupled to the zonal flow equation,and numerically solved in spatiotemporal representation;the results are displayed in self-explanatory graphs.One observes a strong correlation between the Caviton-Instanton transition and the zero-crossing of radial group velocity of EDW.The calculation brings out the defining characteristics of the Instanton:it begins as a linear traveling wave right after the transition.Then,it evolves to a nonlinear stage with increasing frequency all the way to 20 kHz.The modulation to Reynolds stress in zonal flow equation brought in by the nonlinear Instanton will cause resonant excitation to GAM.The intermittency is shown due to the random phase mixing between multiple central rational surfaces in the reaction region.展开更多

文摘The involvement of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-localized adenylate transporter1(ER-ANT1)in photorespiratory metabolism has been established,yet its precise physiological function remains uncertain.Rice er-ant1 mutant plants grown in ambient air exhibited stunted growth and substantial alterations in amino acid metabolites,but recovery in a high CO_(2) condition(1.5%).We show that the absence of ERANT1 hindered the breakdown of glycine without affecting its synthesis,leading to a substantial accumulation of glycine,diminished levels of serine,and depleted reserves of glutamate and alanine.Intriguingly,the er-ant1 plants grown in high CO_(2) and later exposed to ambient air displayed reduced serine levels within 12 h,yet they accumulated serine a week after transferring to ambient air due to induced phosphorylated serine synthesis pathways.Furthermore,knockout of ER-ANT1 marginally impacted the transcription of genes governing core enzymes in photorespiration,but notably upregulated BOU expression that encodes a putative mitochondrial glutamate transporter and AGAT1 that encodes an alanine:glyoxylate aminotransferase gene.Surprisingly,AGAT1,an ER-localized protein,exhibited higher activity that correlates with the decreased alanine levels observed in the er-ant1 mutant.Lack of ER-ANT1 activity also led to a significantly elevated NADH/NAD+ratio that potentially hinders the glycine-to-serine conversion process.This supports the hypothesis that the lack of ER-ANT1-induced limitation of ATP usage might inhibit GDC activity by modulating the NADH/NAD+ratio.Moreover,non-proteinogenic amino acids,including b-alanine and c-aminobutyrate(GABA),underwent significant alterations,even under high CO_(2) conditions in the er-ant mutant,implying additional non-photorespiration roles of ER-ANT1.Taken together,our results indicate that ER-localized ER-ANT1 plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism during photorespiration.

Methods Cognitive fimctions of 59 Chinese patients with aphasia following a stroke were assessed with the Chinese version of the second edition of LOTCA battery and their linguistic functions were tested with the Western Aphasia Battery (WAB) Scale, respectively. The results of LOTCA were analyzed and compared across different groups, in the light of gender, age, educational background, the length of illness, and the degree of aphasia.

文摘Background and Objective:Heparanase-1 (HPA-1) can promote angiogenesis and metastasis of malignant tumors and plays an important role in the genesis and development of tumors.This study was to explore the effects of specific small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting HPA-1 combined with heparin on invasiveness of mouse hepatocellular carcinoma cells.Methods:The expression of HPA-1 in Hca-F, Hca-P, and Hepa1-6 cells, which have high, low, and no metastatic potential, respectively, was analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), Western blot analysis and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).After transfection with two specific siRNAs targeting HPA-1, siRNA-1 and siRNA-2, and treatment with heparin, invasiveness of Hca-F cells was observed by Matrigel invasion assay.Results:HPA-1 was negative in Hepa1-6 cells while positive in both Hca-F and Hca-P cells.The expression levels of both HPA-1 mRNA and protein were obviously higher in Hca-F cells than in Hca-P cells.HPA-1 proteins could be secreted into culture supernatant of Hca-F and Hca-P cells, and the amount of secreted HPA-1 detected by Western blot analysis was larger in Hca-F cells than in Hca-P cells (1.34±0.02 vs.0.60±0.01, P<0.001), which was consistent with the results of ELISA.Both siRNA-1 and siRNA-2 downregulated the expression of HPA-1 and the siRNA-2 did more efficiently.The number of invasive Hca-F cells treated with siRNA-2 or heparin alone was larger than that of Hca-F cells treated with combination of them (9±1 vs.4±1, P=0.013; 15±2 vs.4±1, P=0.008), but smaller than that of untreated Hca-F cells (9±1 vs.22±2, P=0.006; 15±2 vs.22±2, P=0.026).Conclusion:The combined application of specific siRNA targeting HPA-1 and heparin is more effective in inhibiting the invasiveness of mouse hepatoma cells.

文摘Twenty-seven FHDZ-M15 combined geomagnetic observation systems(each of which is equipped with a fluxgate magnetometer and a proton magnetometer)had been installed in the China geomagnetic network before the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake,during which coseismic disturbances were recorded by 26 fluxgate magnetometer observatories.The geomagnetic disturbances have similar spatial and temporal patterns to seismic waves,except for various delays.Six proton magnetometer observatories recorded coseismic disturbances with very small amplitudes.In addition,fluxgate magnetometers registered largeamplitude disturbances that are likely to have included responses to seismic waves.However,two problems remain unresolved.First,why do these geomagnetic disturbances always arrive later than P waves?Second,why do the geomagnetic disturbances have spatial and temporal directivity similar to the main rupture direction of the earthquake?Solving these two problems may be crucial to find the mechanism responsible for generating these geomagnetic anomalies.

文摘In the global climate system, the polar regions are sensitive indicators of climate change, in which sea ice plays an important role. Satellite remote sensing is a significant tool for monitoring sea ice. The use of synthetic aperture radar(SAR) images to distinguish sea ice from sea water is one of the current research hotspots in this topic. To distinguish sea ice from the open sea, the polarization ratio characteristics of sea ice and sea water are studied for L-band and C-band radars, based on an electromagnetic scattering model of sea ice derived from the integral equation method(IEM) and the radiative transfer(RT) model. Numerical experiments are carried out based on the model and the results are given as follows. For L-band, the polarization ratio for sea water depends only on the incident angle, while the polarization ratio for sea ice is related to the incident angle and the ice thickness. For C-band, the sea water polarization ratio is influenced by the incident angle and the root mean square(RMS) height of the sea surface. For C-band, for small to medium incident angles,the polarization ratio for bare sea ice is mainly determined by the incident angle and ice thickness. When the incident angle increases, the RMS height will also affect the polarization ratio for bare sea ice. If snow covers the sea ice, then the polarization ratio for sea ice decreases and is affected by the RMS height of snow surface, snow thickness, volume fraction and the radius of scatterers. The results show that the sea ice and the open sea can be distinguished by using either L-band or C-band radar according to their polarization ratio difference. However, the ability of L-band to make this differentiation is higher than that of C-band.

文摘Manually picking regularly and densely distributed first breaks(FBs)are critical for shallow velocitymodel building in seismic data processing.However,it is time consuming.We employ the fullyconvolutional Seg Net to address this issue and present a fast automatic seismic waveform classification method to pick densely-sampled FBs directly from common-shot gathers with sparsely distributed traces.Through feeding a large number of representative shot gathers with missing traces and the corresponding binary labels segmented by manually interpreted fully-sampled FBs,we can obtain a welltrained Seg Net model.When any unseen gather including the one with irregular trace spacing is inputted,the Seg Net can output the probability distribution of different categories for waveform classification.Then FBs can be picked by locating the boundaries between one class on post-FBs data and the other on pre-FBs background.Two land datasets with each over 2000 shots are adopted to illustrate that one well-trained 25-layer Seg Net can favorably classify waveform and further pick fully-sampled FBs verified by the manually-derived ones,even when the proportion of randomly missing traces reaches50%,21 traces are missing consecutively,or traces are missing regularly.

文摘Objective Our study aimed to analyze the expression of miR-564 and TGF-β1 in cancer tissues and the serum of patients with radiation-induced lung injury,and to investigate the relationship between them and radiation-induced lung injury.Methods In situ hybridization and real-time fluorescence quantitative method were used to detect the expression of miR-564.Additionally,immunohistochemistry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)were performed to detect the expression of TGF-β1.Results The overall incidence of acute radiation pneumonia was 55.9%(100/179).The incidence of≥grade 2 radioactive pneumonia was 24.0%(43/179)and that of grade 1 was 31.8%(57/179).The expression of miR-564 in grade≥2 was slightly higher than that in patients without or with grade 1,but there was no statistical difference(P=0.86).The serum level and ratio of miR-564 in patients with grade≥2 were significantly higher than those without or with grade 1(P=0.005,P=0.025,respectively).The expression of TGF-β1 in grade≥2 was significantly higher than that of patients without or with grade 1(P=0.017).The serum levels of TGF-β1 in grade≥2 were significantly higher than those in patients without or with grade 1(P=0.038).Although the ratio of TGF-β1 in radiation pneumonia of grade≥2 was significantly higher than that of without or with grade 1,there was no significant difference(P=0.24).Moreover,patients with higher expression of miR-564 and lower expression of TGF-β1 had better prognosis.Conclusion MiR-564 and TGF-β1 are predictors of radiation-induced lung injury.Monitoring its changing trend can improve the accuracy of predicting radiation-induced lung injury.The levels and ratio of serum miR-564 and TGF-β1 in patients with radiation-induced lung injury are related to the severity of radiationinduced lung injury.

文摘We used discrete dipole approximation(DDA)to examine the scattering and absorption characteristics of spherical ice crystal particles.On this basis,we studied the scattering characteristics of spherical ice crystal particles at different frequencies and non-spherical ice crystal particles with different shapes,aspect ratios,and spatial orientations.The results indicate that the DDA and Mie methods yield almost the same results for spherical ice crystal particles,illustrating the superior calculation accuracy of the DDA method.Compared with the millimeter wave band,the terahertz band particles have richer scattering characteristics and can detect ice crystal particles more easily.Different frequencies,shapes,aspect ratios,and spatial orientations have specific effects on the scattering and absorption characteristics o f ice crystal particles.The results provide an important theoretical basis for the design of terahertz cloud radars and related cirrus detection methods.

文摘Lushan Ms7.0 earthquake occurred in Lushan county, Ya'an city, Sichuan province of China, on 20 April 2013, and caused 196 deaths, 23 people of missing and more than 12 thousand of people injured. In order to analyze the possible seismic brightness temperature anomalies which may be associated with Lushan earthquake, daily brightness temperature data for the period from 1 June 2011 to 31 May 2013 and the geographical extent of 25°E-35°N latitude and 98°E-108°E longitude are collected from Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite FY-2E. Continuous wavelet transform method which has good resolution both in time and frequency domains is used to analyze power spectrum of brightness temperature data. The results show that the rela- tive wavelet power spectrum (RWPS) anomalies appeared since 24 January 2013 and still lasted on 19 April. Anomalies firstly appeared at the middle part of Longmenshan fault zone and gradually spread toward the southwestern part of Longmenshan fault. Anomalies also appeared along the Xianshuihe fault since about 1 March. Eventually, anomalies gathered at the intersection zone of Longmenshan and Xianshuihe faults. The anomalous areas and RWPS ampli- tude increased since the appearance of anomalies and reached maximum in late March. Anomalies attenuated with the earthquake approaching. And eventually the earthquake occurred at the southeastern edge of anomalous areas. Lushah earthquake was the only obvious geological event within the anomalous area during the time period, so the anomalous changes of RWPS are possibly associated with the earthquake.

文摘The hourly data of the vertical Z and the horizontal H components of 37 ground-based DC-ULF geomagnetic stations are examined during 20 April-12 May 2008. On 9 May 2008, three days before the Wenchuan MS 8.0 shock, anomalies-a double low-point and a decreased amplitude-are registered on the curves of the Z component at 25 stations in a large-scale area surrounding the Wenchuan epicentral area. The H component shows none of the double low-point phenomenon but does exhibit a reduced magnitude at the same time. The geomagnetic index Kp is also examined and indicates that the anomalies appear at a solar quiet period. The appearing time shift(Tzs) between the first low-point on May 9 and the minimum point occurring time of May 1-5, 2008 is also checked.The results show that Tzs is on the order of 1-2 hours earlier or later than usual and there is a 2-6 hours’ gap between these two lowpoints. However, there is still a transition area which includes the epicenter where Tzs=0. Variation amplitude examined on vertical Z increases as the distance from the epicenter decreases. An Earth-air-ionosphere model has been employed to investigate a possible mechanism of this phenomenon and positive results have been unexpectedly attained. All these above-related results tend to prove that the variations of the Z and H on May 9, 2008 during the solar quiet period are probably associated with the forthcoming Wenchuan MS 8.0 earthquake.

文摘The phyA^m gene encoding acid phytase and optimized neutral phytase phyCs gene were inserted into expression vector pPIC9K in correct orientation and transformed into Pichiapastoris in order to expand the pH profile ofphytase and decrease the cost of production. The fusion phytase phyA^m-phyCs gene was successfully overexpressed in P. pastoris as an active and extracellular phytase. The yield of total extracellular fusion phytase activity is (25.4±0.53) U/ml at the flask scale and (159.1±2.92) U/ml for high cell-density fermentation, respectively. Purified fusion phytase exhibits an optimal temperature at 55 ℃ and an optimal pH at 5.5-6.0 and its relative activity remains at a relatively high level of above 70% in the range ofpH 2.0 to 7.0. About 51% to 63% of its original activity remains after incubation at 75 ℃ to 95 ℃ for 10 min. Due to heavy glycosylation, the expressed fusion phytase shows a broad and diffuse band in SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). After deglycosylation by endoglycosidase H (EndoHf), the enzyme has an apparent molecular size of 95 kDa. The characterization of the fusion phytase was compared with those ofphyCs andphyA^m.
文摘Many patients with Parkinson’s disease suffer cognitive impairment or dementia. Cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) have positive effects on patients with Parkinson’s Disease Dementia (PDD). But it is only improve symptoms. There is no etiological cure for PDD. So, In order to achieve the best outcomes, the combination of ChEIs and other therapeutic strategies is needed to study.?In the present study, we investigate the efficacy and safety of rivastigmine combined with Reinhartdt and Sea Cucumber Capsule (RSC) in patients with mild-to-moderate PDD, and its effect on thyroid function.?There were 52 patients were randomly assigned to receive either rivastigmine (3 mg/ day) or rivastigmine plus RSC (2.7 g/day) treatment for 24 weeks. Efficacy was investigated by the change of the scores of Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog), Activities of Daily Life (ADL) and Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) part III (motor scale). Meanwhile, thyroid hormone levels were detected before and after 12 weeks, 24 weeks treatment in all patients. Results showed that?the patients treated with rivastigmine plus RSC showed more improvement in the cognition and the daily life activities compared to those treated with rivastigmine alone. Significant difference was present after being treated for 12 weeks or more. However, no group difference was found on UPDRS part III, thyroid hormone level change and the incidence of adverse events (11.1% vs 16.0%) between the two groups of treatment. Adverse effects were nausea and vomiting which were the main reasons for the dropout. The finding suggests that Rivastigmine plus RSC may improves the treatment effects in cognition and the ADL of the patients with mild-to-moderate PDD, compared with the rivastigmine treatment alone. However, no effect was observed on the motor symptoms and thyroid hormone levels. In addition, this joint treatment is safe.

文摘In this paper, quartz crystal microbalance(QCM) gas sensors coated with polyehtyleneimine(PEI)was utilized for carbon dioxide(CO2) detection. The sensing mechanism is based on the availability of reversible acid-base reactions between CO2 molecules and PEI at room temperature. The experimental results revealed that the PEI/starch sensor exhibited much higher sensitivity than that of pure PEI, and showed approximate linearity over a concentration region ranging from 500 ppm to 8000 ppm. The influence of humidity had also been investigated. Furthermore, the response and recovery time deceased as the operation temperatures increased. Finally, sensitivity loss after conservation for several days and reversibility of the sensors had been discussed.

文摘Complex permittivity and electrical impedance have been measured along the c-axis in single crystals BaFe_2 As_2,which are the conductors known as the parent compound of 122-type iron superconductor. The resultant relative errors defined in the study indicate the existence of the transformation between complex permittivity and electrical impedance in the conductors, and these two physics quantities possibly reveal different aspects of the consistent superconductivityrelevant physics picture.

文摘High resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)measurements are carried out on CaKFe_4 As_4,KCa_2 Fe_4 As_4 F_2 and(Ba_(0.6)K_(0.4))Fe_2 As_2 superconductors.Clear evidence of band folding between the Brillouin zone center and corners with a(π,π)wave vector has been found from the measured Fermi surface and band structures in all the three kinds of superconductors.A dominant √2×√2 surface reconstruction is observed on the cleaved surface of CaKFe_4As_4 by scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)measurements.We propose that the commonly observed √2×√2 reconstruction in the FeAs-based superconductors provides a general scenario to understand the origin of the(π,π)band folding.Our observations provide new insights in understanding the electronic structure and superconductivity mechanism in iron-based superconductors.

文摘Through a systematically developed theory,we demonstrate that the motion of Instanton identified in Zhang et al(2017 Phys.Plasmas 24122304)is highly correlated to the intermittent excitation and propagation of geodesic acoustic mode(GAM)that is observed in tokamaks.While many numerical simulations have observed the phenomena,it is the first theory that reveals the physical mechanism behind GAM intermittent excitation and propagation.The preceding work is based on the micro-turbulence associated with toroidal ion temperature gradient mode,and slab-based phenomenological model of zonal flow.When full toroidal effect is introduced into the system,two branches of zonal flow emerge:the torus-modified low frequency zonal flow(TLFZF),and GAM,necessitating a unified exploration of GAM and TLFZF.Indeed,we observe that the transition from the Caviton to Instanton is triggered by a rapid zero-crossing of radial group velocity of drift wave and is found to be strongly correlated with the GAM onset.Many features peculiar to intermittent GAMs,observed in real machines,are thus identified in the numerical experiment.The results will be displayed in figures and in a movie;first for single central rational surface,and then with coupled multiple central rational surfaces.The periodic bursting first shown disappears as being replaced by irregular one,more similar to the intermittent characteristics observed in GAM experiments.

文摘There are two distinct phases in the evolution of drift wave envelope in the presence of zonal flow.A long-lived standing wave phase,which we call the Caviton,and a short-lived traveling wave phase(in radial direction) we call the Instanton.Several abrupt phenomena observed in tokamaks,such as intermittent excitation of geodesic acoustic mode(GAM) shown in this paper,could be attributed to the sudden and fast radial motion of Instanton.The composite drift wave-zonal flow system evolves at the two well-separate scales:the micro-scale and the meso-scale.The eigenmode equation of the model defines the zero-order(micro-scale) variation;it is solved by making use of the two-dimensional(2 D) weakly asymmetric ballooning theory(WABT),a theory suitable for modes localized to rational surface like drift waves,and then refined by shifted inverse power method,an iterative finite difference method.The next order is the equation of electron drift wave(EDW) envelope(containing group velocity of EDW) which is modulated by the zonal flow generated by Reynolds stress of EDW.This equation is coupled to the zonal flow equation,and numerically solved in spatiotemporal representation;the results are displayed in self-explanatory graphs.One observes a strong correlation between the Caviton-Instanton transition and the zero-crossing of radial group velocity of EDW.The calculation brings out the defining characteristics of the Instanton:it begins as a linear traveling wave right after the transition.Then,it evolves to a nonlinear stage with increasing frequency all the way to 20 kHz.The modulation to Reynolds stress in zonal flow equation brought in by the nonlinear Instanton will cause resonant excitation to GAM.The intermittency is shown due to the random phase mixing between multiple central rational surfaces in the reaction region.
