Risk factors of non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy and central retinal artery occlusion

AIM:To investigate the difference in risk factors between non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy(NAION)and central retinal artery occlusion(CRAO)and develop a predictive diagnostic nomogram.METHODS:The study included 37 patients with monocular NAION,20 with monocular CRAO,and 24 with hypertension.Gender,age,and systemic diseases were recorded.Blood routine,lipids,hemorheology,carotid and brachial artery doppler ultrasound,and echocardiography were collected.The optic disc area,cup area,and cup-to-disc ratio(C/D)of the unaffected eye in the NAION and CRAO group and the right eye in the hypertension group were measured.RESULTS:The carotid artery intimal medial thickness(C-IMT)of the affected side of the CRAO group was thicker(P=0.039)and its flow-mediated dilation(FMD)was lower(P=0.049)than the NAION group.Compared with hypertension patients,NAION patients had higher whole blood reduced viscosity low-shear(WBRV-L)and erythrocyte aggregation index(EAI;P=0.045,0.037),and CRAO patients had higher index of rigidity of erythrocyte(IR)and erythrocyte deformation index(EDI;P=0.004,0.001).The optic cup and the C/D of the NAION group were smaller than the other two groups(P<0.0001).The diagnostic prediction model showed high diagnostic specificity(83.7%)and sensitivity(85.6%),which was highly related to hypertension,the C-IMT of the affected side,FMD,platelet(PLT),EAI,and C/D.CONCLUSION:CRAO patients show thicker C-IMT and worse endothelial function than NAION.NAION and CRAO may be related to abnormal hemorheology.A small cup and small C/D may be involved in NAION.The diagnostic nomogram can be used to preliminarily identify NAION and CRAO. 展开更多

Dextran-poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (Dex-PGMA) nano-suitcases were synthesized efficiently via a graft copolymerization induced self-assembly (GISA) approach. On this basis, the Dex-PGMA nano-suitcases were modified with hydrazide, and the attachment of multiple chelated Gd(III) ions to the interior of the nano-suitcases affords nanoscale MRI contrast agents with high relaxivity values. The highly fenestrated dextran shell of the nano-suitcases assures water exchange which readily occurs between the surrounding environment and the Gd(III) ions encapsulated within the hybrid nano-suitcases. The complexation between the hydrophilic hydrazide interior of the nano-suitcases and Gd(III) ions results in an impressive Gd payload at 22.6 wt% in the hybrid nano-suitcases. The longitudinal relaxivity (rl) of the hybrid nano-suitcases is reported as 44.4 L/(mmol-s), which is 9-14 folds of that of commercial Gd-DTPA agents. In vivo MRI studies demonstrate that the hybrid nano-suitcases accumulated in the lymph node of the rat due to their nanoscale dimensions and displayed strong signals in vivo. The results indicated that the hybrid nano-suitcases provide a promising platform for the diagnosis of lymph node related diseases. 展开更多

由分子侧链上修饰近红外荧光分子的聚赖氨酸及表面聚丙烯酸修饰的磁共振显影磁性纳米颗粒为组装单元,采用自组装法构筑了在近红外、磁共振双重显影中均具有蛋白酶响应性的纳米尺度自组装微球.微球形成的组装驱动力为聚赖氨酸侧链氨基与... 由分子侧链上修饰近红外荧光分子的聚赖氨酸及表面聚丙烯酸修饰的磁共振显影磁性纳米颗粒为组装单元,采用自组装法构筑了在近红外、磁共振双重显影中均具有蛋白酶响应性的纳米尺度自组装微球.微球形成的组装驱动力为聚赖氨酸侧链氨基与磁性纳米颗粒表面羧基在水相中的静电相互作用,两类组装前驱体在静电力作用下组装为纳米尺度团聚体,再通过戊二醛对氨基的适度交联来构筑胰蛋白酶响应的双显影复合微球.该复合微球处于自组装聚集状态时,微球内近红外荧光分子间的距离减小从而发生荧光共振能量转移,导致荧光分子的自淬灭;而在胰蛋白酶活化后的解组装状态,微球内聚赖氨酸重复单元间的酰胺键被胰蛋白酶切断,荧光分子间距扩大,共振能量转移现象消失,从而导致复合微球在胰蛋白酶存在下释放荧光,荧光释放强度/淬灭强度的比值最高可达18.此外,自组装微球的磁共振显影同样具有胰蛋白酶敏感性,这与组装—解组装过程导致微球内磁性纳米颗粒的局部浓度及聚集状态发生变化有关.细胞和动物实验研究表明,复合微球呈现低细胞毒性,并可特异性地对胰蛋白酶阳性的细胞和组织进行近红外/磁共振双显影,在胰蛋白酶的生物影像学检测中具有潜在的应用前景. 展开更多

Absolute quantum yield (Ф) is one of the most important parameters to evaluate the potential of novel materials. Lanthanide complexes EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens are synthesized with the ratio of Gd3+ dopant concentration ranging from 10% to 90% to improve the absolute quantum yield. EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens possess similar infrared and ultraviolet spectra, showing that they have similar molecular structures. The absolute emission quantum yields of EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens are determined using a fluoromax-4 spectrofluorometer equipped with an integrating sphere. The fluorescence lifetimes of the EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens are measured in the same experiment. It was found that both absolute quantum yields and fluorescence lifetimes of EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens are of quasi-periodic variation with the change of the Gd3. dopant concentrations. The absolute quantum efficiency and fluorescence lifetime vary with respect to the Gd content in an opposite fashion, indicating that the rate of energy absorption by the EuxGd1-x(TTA)3phens and the conversion to light energy is critical for the absolute quantum efficiency. The radiative rate constant Kr and non-radiative rate constant Knr are calculated. The dependence of Kr and Knr on the Gd3+ dopant concentrations is very similar to that of absolute quantum efficiency. The radiation rate constant Kr and absolute quantum efficiency have a linear relationship. 展开更多
