In this article, we use the optimal concentration and adsorption time of origami to induce DNA origami in the form of a large-scale 2D pattern on mica without changing the origami itself. DNA origami structures can form a pattern by close packing of symmetric and electrostatic interactions between ions, which was confirmed by the atomic force microscopy images. Furthermore, we identified favorable conditions for the concentration of enable pattern formation with DNA origami. This work provides an insight to understand the adsorption of DNA on mica and guides researches on regular DNA nanostructure pattern, which can serve as templates for pattern formation of proteins or other biomolecules.展开更多

文摘Accurate detection of pipeline leakage is essential to maintain the safety of pipeline transportation.Recently, deep learning(DL)has emerged as a promising tool for pipeline leakage detection(PLD).However, most existing DL methods have difficulty in achieving good performance in identifying leakage types due to the complex time dynamics of pipeline data.On the other hand, the initial parameter selection in the detection model is generally random, which may lead to unstable recognition performance. For this reason,a hybrid DL framework referred to as parameter-optimized recurrent attention network(PRAN)is presented in this paper to improve the accuracy of PLD.First,a parameter-optimized long short-term memory(LSTM)network is introduced to extract effective and robust features, which exploits a particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm with cross-entropy fitness function to search for globally optimal parameters. With this framework, the learning representation capability of the model is improved and the convergence rate is accelerated. Moreover,an anomaly-attention mechanism(AM)is proposed to discover class discriminative information by weighting the hidden states, which contributes to amplifying the normalabnormal distinguishable discrepancy, further improving the accuracy of PLD.After that, the proposed PRAN not only implements the adaptive optimization of network parameters, but also enlarges the contribution of normal-abnormal discrepancy, thereby overcoming the drawbacks of instability and poor generalization. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed PRAN for PLD.
文摘BACKGROUND Adult-onset Still’s disease(AOSD)is a rare systemic inflammatory disease, which is characterized by daily fever and arthritis, with an evanescent rash and neutrophilic leukocytosis. To date, there has been no definite laboratory or imaging test available for diagnosing AOSD;the diagnosis is one of exclusion, which can be very challenging. In particular,AOSD patients may experience different complications affecting their clinical picture, management, and prognosis. The treatment of AOSD remains largely empirical and involves therapeutic agents.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 36-year-old woman who presented with fever, red rash, arthralgia, and sore throat. Her serum ferritin level and white blood cell count were markedly elevated, and the first diagnosis 22 years prior was"juvenile rheumatoid arthritis of systemic type".The patient was treated with prednisone, sulfasalazine, methotrexate, and leflunomide. After remission of her symptoms, the patient stopped taking the medications, and the disease recurred.Ultimately, the patient was diagnosed with adult-onset Still's disease.Relapse occurred several times due to self-medication withdrawal, and an interleukin-6 antagonist(tocilizumab/Actemra)was administered to control the disease.Recently, she was hospitalized because an incision did not heal, and the patient suddenly developed high fever and diarrhea during hospitalization. The patient's disease progressed violently and quickly developed into macrophage activation syndrome, disseminated intravascular coagulation, shock, and multiple organ failure. The patient had sudden cardiac arrest, and she died despite emergency rescue efforts.CONCLUSION AOSD patients need regular follow-up in the long-term treatment process, and must press formulary standard medication, and do not voluntarily withdraw or reduce the dose.Otherwise it may cause disease back-and-forth or serious lifethreatening complications.Meanwhile, strict management of trauma, infections, tumors, and other diseases may contribute to improved outcomes in patients with complications.

文摘The arrangement of DNA-based nanostructures into the desired large-scale periodic pattern with the highest possible accuracy and control is essential for the DNA application in functional biomaterials;however, formation of a DNA nanostructure pattern without utilizing the molecular interactions in nanotechnology field remains difficult. This work provides an insight to understand the adsorption of DNA on mica and guides researches on regular DNA nanostructure pattern, which can serve as templates for pattern formation of proteins or other biomolecules.

文摘The resection of malignant osteosarcoma often results in large segmental bone defects, and the residual cells can facilitate recurrence.Consequently, the treatment of osteosarcoma is a major challenge in clinical practice. The ideal goal of treatment for osteosarcoma is to eliminate it thoroughly, and repair the resultant bone defects as well as avoid bacterial infections.Herein,we fabricated a selenium/strontium/zinc-doped hydroxyapatite(Se/Sr/Zn-HA)powder by hydrothermal method, and then employed it with polycaprolactone(PCL)as ink to construct composite scaffolds through 3D printing, and finally introduced them in bone defect repair induced by malignant osteosarcoma. The resultant composite scaffolds integrated multiple functions involving anti-tumor,osteogenic,and antibacterial potentials, mainly attributed to the anti-tumor effects of SeO_(3)^(2-),osteogenic ef-fects of Sr^(2+)and Zn^(2+),and antibacterial effects of SeO_(3)^(2-)and Zn^(2+).In vitro studies confirmed that Se/Sr/Zn-HA leaching solution could induce apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells, differentiation of MSCs,and proliferation of MC3T3-E1 while showing excellent antibacterial properties. In vivo tests demonstrated that Se/Sr/Zn-HA could significantly suppress tumors after 8 days of injection, and the Se/Sr/Zn-HA-PCLs scaffold repaired femoral defects effectively after 3 months of implantation.Summarily, the Se/Sr/Zn-HA-PCLs composite scaffolds developed in this study were effective for tumor treatment, bone defect repair, and post-operative anti-infection,which provided a great potential to be a facile therapeutic material for osteosarcoma resection.

文摘As the need for energy storage devices escalates, aqueous zincion batteries(ZIBs)have risen as a promising alternative to the widely used Li-ion batteries, offering intrinsic safety, environmental compatibility, and cost advantages, positioning them as attractive energy storage systems for the future[1,2].However,challenges such as dendrite growth on Zn anodes, stemming from uneven electric fields on the surface and active water side reactions, compromise cycling stability and lifespan, posing significant hurdles for the practical application of ZIBs[3,4].To mitigate these issues, strategies like electrolyte optimization, artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers, and current collector modifications have been proposed[5,6].Nevertheless,most long-cycle experiments are conducted at low current densities and deposition capacities, with high current density and capacity operations typically lasting less than 1000 h[7].

文摘Quasi-bound states in the continuum(quasi-BICs)offer an excellent platform for the flexible and efficient control of light-matter interactions by breaking the structural symmetry. The active quasi-BIC device has great application potential in fields such as optical sensing, nonlinear optics, and filters.Herein,we experimentally demonstrate an active terahertz(THz)quasi-BIC device induced by the polarization conversion in a liquid crystal(LC)-integrated metasurface, which consists of a symmetrically broken double-gap split ring resonator(DSRR),an LC layer, and double graphite electrodes. In the process of LC orientation control under the external field, the device realizes the active control from the OFF state to the ON state. In the OFF state, the LC has no polarization conversion effect, and the device behaves in a non-resonant state;but for the ON state, the device exhibits obvious quasi-BIC resonance.Furthermore,we achieve asymmetric transmission based on polarization-induced quasiBIC modulation precisely at the quasi-BIC resonance position, and its isolation can be controlled by the external field. The study on dynamic quasi-BIC by the LC-integrated metasurface introduces a very promising route for active THz devices, which guarantees potential applications for THz communications, switching, and sensing systems.

文摘The changes in microbial composition of salmon slices during storage at 4◦C were measured using high-throughput sequencing(HTS),and biogenic amine(BA)-producing bacteria were isolated from salmon slices to evaluate their ability to produce BAs.Fresh salmon slices had the highest bacterial diversity, which decreased with the extension of the refrigerated storage time.Phenylobacterium was the dominating genus in fresh salmon slices, followed by Photobacterium and Burkholderia, while Brochothrix became the dominant bacterium in the later stages of the storage period.Seven strains of BA-producing bacteria were isolated and determined, which varied greatly in BA production.Among these,Brochothrix thermosphacta(B5)exhibited the strongest BA-producing ability, producing 98.32 mg/mL of putrescine and 78.81 mg/mL of cadaverine, and Photobacterium phosphoreum showed a stronger histamine-producing ability(77.07 mg/mL).This study explored the microbial composition in salmon slices and offer insight into the relationship between microorganisms and BAs in salmon slices. This study provides a theoretical basis for developing antibacterial agents, decreasing the amount BAs,and extending the shelf-life of salmon slices.
