Li metal batteries using high-voltage layered oxides cathodes are of particular interest due to their high energy density.However,they suffer from short lifespan and extreme safety concerns,which are attributed to the...Li metal batteries using high-voltage layered oxides cathodes are of particular interest due to their high energy density.However,they suffer from short lifespan and extreme safety concerns,which are attributed to the degradation of layered oxides and the decomposition of electrolyte at high voltage,as well as the high reactivity of metallic Li.The key is the development of stable electrolytes against both highvoltage cathodes and Li with the formation of robust interphase films on the surfaces.Herein,we report a highly fluorinated ether,1,1,1-trifluoro-2-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methoxy]ethane(TTME),as a cosolvent,which not only functions as a diluent forming a localized high concentration electrolyte(LHCE),but also participates in the construction of the inner solvation structure.The TTME-based electrolyte is stable itself at high voltage and induces the formation of a unique double-layer solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film,which is embodied as one layer rich in crystalline structural components for enhanced mechanical strength and another amorphous layer with a higher concentration of organic components for enhanced flexibility.The Li||Cu cells display a noticeably high Coulombic efficiency of 99.28%after 300 cycles and Li symmetric cells maintain stable cycling more than 3200 h at 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and 1.0m Ah/cm^(2).In addition,lithium metal cells using LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2) and Li CoO_(2) cathodes(both loadings~3.0 m Ah/cm^(2))realize capacity retentions of>85%over 240 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.4 V and 90%for 170 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.5 V,respectively.This study offers a bifunctional ether-based electrolyte solvent beneficial for high-voltage Li metal batteries.展开更多
Exercise-with-melatonin therapy has complementary and synergistic effects on spinal cord injury and Alzheimer's disease,but its effect on stroke is still poorly understood.In this study,we established a rat model ...Exercise-with-melatonin therapy has complementary and synergistic effects on spinal cord injury and Alzheimer's disease,but its effect on stroke is still poorly understood.In this study,we established a rat model of ischemic stroke by occluding the middle cerebral artery for 60 minutes.We treated the rats with exercise and melatonin therapy for 7 consecutive days.Results showed that exercise-with-melatonin therapy significantly prolonged sleep duration in the model rats,increased delta power values,and regularized delta power rhythm.Additionally,exercise-with-melatonin therapy improved coordination,endurance,and grip strength,as well as learning and memory abilities.At the same time,it led to higher hippocampal CA1 neuron activity and postsynaptic density thickness and lower expression of glutamate receptor 2 than did exercise or melatonin therapy alone.These findings suggest that exercise-withmelatonin therapy can alleviate sleep disorder and motor dysfunction by increasing glutamate receptor 2 protein expression and regulating hippocampal CA1 synaptic plasticity.展开更多
Antibiotic resistant bacteria(ARB)with antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)can reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of antibiotics and thus threaten human health.The United Nations Environment Programme considers antibi...Antibiotic resistant bacteria(ARB)with antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)can reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of antibiotics and thus threaten human health.The United Nations Environment Programme considers antibiotic resistance the first of six emerging issues of concern.Advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)that combine ultraviolet(UV)irradiation and chemical oxidation(primarily chlorine,hydrogen peroxide,and persulfate)have attracted increasing interest as advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies.These integrated technologies have been reported to significantly elevate the efficiencies of ARB inactivation and ARG degradation compared with direct UV irradiation or chemical oxidation alone due to the generation of multiple reactive species.In this study,the performance and underlying mechanisms of UV/chlorine,UV/hydrogen peroxide,and UV/persulfate processes for controlling ARB and ARGs were reviewed based on recent studies.Factors affecting the process-specific efficiency in controlling ARB and ARGs were discussed,including biotic factors,oxidant dose,UV fluence,pH,and water matrix properties.In addition,the cost-effectiveness of the UV-based AOPs was evaluated using the concept of electrical energy per order.The UV/chlorine process exhibited a higher efficiency with lower energy consumption than other UV-based AOPs in the wastewater matrix,indicating its potential for ARB inactivation and ARG degradation in wastewater treatment.Further studies are required to address the trade-off between toxic byproduct formation and the energy efficiency of the UV/chlorine process in real wastewater to facilitate its optimization and application in the control of ARB and ARGs.展开更多
As information acquisition terminals for artificial olfaction,chemiresistive gas sensors are often troubled by their cross-sensitivity,and reducing their cross-response to ambient gases has always been a difficult and...As information acquisition terminals for artificial olfaction,chemiresistive gas sensors are often troubled by their cross-sensitivity,and reducing their cross-response to ambient gases has always been a difficult and important point in the gas sensing area.Pattern recognition based on sensor array is the most conspicuous way to overcome the cross-sensitivity of gas sensors.It is crucial to choose an appropriate pattern recognition method for enhancing data analysis,reducing errors and improving system reliability,obtaining better classification or gas concentration prediction results.In this review,we analyze the sensing mechanism of crosssensitivity for chemiresistive gas sensors.We further examine the types,working principles,characteristics,and applicable gas detection range of pattern recognition algorithms utilized in gas-sensing arrays.Additionally,we report,summarize,and evaluate the outstanding and novel advancements in pattern recognition methods for gas identification.At the same time,this work showcases the recent advancements in utilizing these methods for gas identification,particularly within three crucial domains:ensuring food safety,monitoring the environment,and aiding in medical diagnosis.In conclusion,this study anticipates future research prospects by considering the existing landscape and challenges.It is hoped that this work will make a positive contribution towards mitigating cross-sensitivity in gas-sensitive devices and offer valuable insights for algorithm selection in gas recognition applications.展开更多
Background:In facial plastic surgery,patients with nasal deformity are often treated by rib cartilage transplantation.In recent years,cartilage tissue engineering has developed as an alternative to complex surgery for...Background:In facial plastic surgery,patients with nasal deformity are often treated by rib cartilage transplantation.In recent years,cartilage tissue engineering has developed as an alternative to complex surgery for patients with minor nasal defects via injection of nasal filler material.In this study,we prepared an injectable nasal filler material containing poly-L-l actic acid(PLLA)porous microspheres(PMs),hyaluronic acid(HA)and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSCs).Methods:We seeded ADMSCs into as-prepared PLLA PMs using our newly invented centrifugation perfusion technique.Then,HA was mixed with ADMSC-i ncorporated PLLA PMs to form a hydrophilic and injectable cell delivery system(ADMSCincorporated PMH).Results:We evaluated the biocompatibility of PMH in vitro and in vivo.PMH has good injectability and provides a favorable environment for the proliferation and chondrogenic differentiation of ADMSCs.In vivo experiments,we observed that PMH has good biocompatibility and cartilage regeneration ability.Conclusion:In this study,a injectable cell delivery system was successfully constructed.We believe that PMH has potential application in cartilage tissue engineering,especially in nasal cartilage regeneration.展开更多
Wastewater surveillance(WWS)can leverage its wide coverage,population-based sampling,and high monitoring frequency to capture citywide pandemic trends independent of clinical surveillance.Here we conducted a nine mont...Wastewater surveillance(WWS)can leverage its wide coverage,population-based sampling,and high monitoring frequency to capture citywide pandemic trends independent of clinical surveillance.Here we conducted a nine months daily WWS for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)from 12 wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),covering approximately 80%of the population,to monitor infection dynamics in Hong Kong,China.We found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus concentration in wastewater was correlated with the daily number of reported cases and reached two pandemic peaks three days earlier during the study period.In addition,two different methods were established to estimate the prevalence/incidence rates from wastewater measurements.The estimated results from wastewater were consistent with findings from two independent citywide clinical surveillance programmes(rapid antigen test(RAT)surveillance and serology surveillance),but higher than the cases number reported by the Centre for Health Protection(CHP)of Hong Kong,China.Moreover,the effective reproductive number(R_(t))was estimated from wastewater measurements to reflect both citywide and regional transmission dynamics.Our findings demonstrate that large-scale intensive WWS from WWTPs provides cost-effective and timely public health information,especially when the clinical surveillance is inadequate and costly.This approach also provides insights into pandemic dynamics at higher spatiotemporal resolutions,facilitating the formulation of effective control policies and targeted resource allocation.展开更多
Internal insulation of high-voltage power modules is facing interesting failure risks,including high temperature overheating,breakdown fault,material cracking etc.,so it is imperative to urgently develop new dielectri...Internal insulation of high-voltage power modules is facing interesting failure risks,including high temperature overheating,breakdown fault,material cracking etc.,so it is imperative to urgently develop new dielectric materials with high thermal conductivity(λ),outstanding electrical insulation,and thermal stability properties.A method to construct controllable liquid crystalline cross-linking networks based on the synthesis of biphenyl epoxy monomer and the change of curing agent structures and curing temperature is proposed.The uniform nematic rod-like liquid crystalline domains were obtained by using 4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane as a curing agent under a pre-curing temperature of 105°C.The resulting film(abbreviated as TD-105)exhibitedλup to 0.53 W m^(-1) K^(-1) and a dielectric breakdown strength of 57.69 kV mm^(-1),which showed a simultaneous enhancement of 178%and 16%,respectively,compared to traditional bisphenol A epoxy resin.Moreover,it also exhibited lower dielectric loss and magnitude of partial discharge while having higher glass-transition temperature(190°C).A novel idea for the development of high-performance epoxy insulating materials for the application of high-voltage and large-power electrical equipment is provided.展开更多
BACKGROUND Enhancing awareness and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)and postexposure prophylaxis(PEP)is vital to curb human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)spread.High-risk behaviors prevalent among sexually transmitte...BACKGROUND Enhancing awareness and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)and postexposure prophylaxis(PEP)is vital to curb human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)spread.High-risk behaviors prevalent among sexually transmitted infection clinic outpatients underscore the need for increased PrEP/PEP education in this group.AIM To investigate the effects of both onsite and online health education on the knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP and PEP among individuals receiving PEP services.METHODS Participants were drawn from a cohort study on PEP service intervention at an STD/AIDS outpatient clinic in designated HIV/AIDS hospitals in Beijing,conducted from January 1 to June 30,2022.Health education was provided both onsite and online during follow-up.Surveys assessing knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP/PEP were administered at baseline and again at 24 wk post-intervention.RESULTS A total of 112 participants were enrolled in the study;105 completed the follow-up at week 24.The percentage of participants with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP significantly increased from 65.2%and 69.6%at baseline to 83.8%and 82.9%at the end of the intervention(both P<0.05).Similarly,those with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PEP increased from 74.1%and 77.7%at baseline to 92.4%and 89.5%at week 24(P<0.05).Being between 31 years and 40 years of age,having a postgraduate degree or higher,and reporting a monthly expenditure of RMB 5000 or more were found to be significantly associated with knowledge of PrEP and PEP(both P<0.05).CONCLUSION The findings show that both onsite and online health education significantly improved the knowledge of,and increased willingness to use,PrEP and PEP in individuals utilizing PEP services.展开更多
BACKGROUND Retinal microcirculation alterations are early indicators of diabetic microvascular complications.Optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)is a noninvasive method to assess these changes.This study ana...BACKGROUND Retinal microcirculation alterations are early indicators of diabetic microvascular complications.Optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)is a noninvasive method to assess these changes.This study analyzes changes in retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients during short-term increases in blood glucose using OCTA.AIM To investigate the changes in retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients experiencing short-term increases in blood glucose levels using OCTA.METHODS Fifty volunteers were divided into three groups:Group 1[impaired fasting glucose(IFG)or impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)],Group 2(both IFG and IGT),and a control group.Retinal microcirculation parameters,including vessel density(VD),perfusion density(PD),and foveal avascular zone(FAZ)metrics,were measured using OCTA.Correlations between these parameters and blood glucose levels were analyzed in both the fasting and postprandial states.RESULTS One hour after glucose intake,the central VD(P=0.023),central PD(P=0.026),and parafoveal PD(P<0.001)were significantly greater in the control group than in the fasting group.In Group 1,parafoveal PD(P<0.001)and FAZ circularity(P=0.023)also increased one hour after glucose intake.However,no significant changes were observed in the retinal microcirculation parameters of Group 2 before or after glucose intake(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,Group 1 had a larger FAZ area(P=0.032)and perimeter(P=0.018),whereas Group 2 had no significant differences in retinal microcirculation parameters compared with the control group(P>0.05).Compared with Group 1,Group 2 had greater central VD(P=0.013)and PD(P=0.008)and a smaller FAZ area(P=0.012)and perimeter(P=0.010).One hour after glucose intake,Group 1 had a larger FAZ area(P=0.044)and perimeter(P=0.038)than did the control group,whereas Group 2 showed no significant differences in retinal microcirculation parameters compared with the control group(P>0.05).Group 2 had greater central VD(P=0.042)and PD(P=0.022)and a smaller FAZ area(P=0.015)and perimeter(P=0.016)than Group 1.At fasting,central PD was significantly positively correlated with blood glucose levels(P=0.044),whereas no significant correlations were found between blood glucose levels and OCTA parameters one hour after glucose intake.CONCLUSION A short-term increase in blood glucose has a more pronounced effect on retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients with either IFG or IGT.展开更多
BACKGROUND Patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor prognosis.In the previous cohor...BACKGROUND Patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor prognosis.In the previous cohort study on mCRC conducted by our team,it was observed that integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment could significantly prolong the overall survival(OS)of patients with colorectal cancer.Therefore,we further explored the survival benefits in the population with BRAF V600E mutant mCRC.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer.METHODS A cohort study was conducted on patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer admitted to Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to December 2022.The patients were divided into two cohorts.RESULTS A total of 34 cases were included,with 23 in Chinese-Western medicine cohort(cohort A)and 11 in Western medicine cohort(cohort B).The median overall survival was 19.9 months in cohort A and 14.2 months in cohort B,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.038,hazard ratio=0.46).The 1-3-year survival rates were 95.65%(22/23),39.13%(9/23),and 26.09%(6/23)in cohort A,and 63.64%(7/11),18.18%(2/11),and 9.09%(1/11)in cohort B,respectively.Subgroup analysis showed statistically significant differences in median OS between the two cohorts in the right colon,liver metastasis,chemotherapy,and first-line treatment subgroups(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Integrated Chinese and Western medicine can prolong the survival and reduce the risk of death in patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer,with more pronounced benefits observed in patients with right colon involvement,liver metastasis,combined chemotherapy,and first-line treatment.展开更多

In this paper, we will investigate whether atorvastatin can alleviate myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and verify its molecular mechanism. Methods: We successfully constructed a hypoxia-reperfusion (H/R) H9c2 cell model and transfected miR-26a-5p mimic, miR-26a-5p inhibitor and its negative control NC-mimic or NC-inhibitor into H9c2 cells using a transfection kit. The expression of miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 were detected by RT-qPCR assay, the expression of related proteins by Western blot assay, the cell viability of H9c2 cells by CCK-8 assay, the apoptosis rate of H9c2 cells by flow cytometry, the CK and LDH activity in cells by CK and LDH assay kits. The targeting relationship between miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 was verified by dual luciferase reporter gene assay. Results: MiR-26a-5p expression was decreased in H/R-induced cells and FOXO1 expression was increased in H/R-induced cells. Atorvastatin alleviated H/R injury in cardiomyocytes and was most effective at a concentration of 1 μM. Atorvastatin alleviated H/R injury in cardiomyocytes by upregulating miR-26a-5p expression, miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 were negatively regulated by targeting. Conclusion: Atorvastatin can alleviate H/R injury in cardiomyocytes by regulating miR-26a-5p/FOXO1.展开更多

An anti-collision early warning technology method based on vibration wave propagation attenuation monitoring is proposed to prevent collision accidents between road headers and natural gas wells. Through the steel pipe and steel pipe concrete knocking vibration test and underground digging vibration test, the research results show that: The exponential decay coefficients of the vibration wave in steel pipe, steel pipe concrete and coal rock respectively are 0.1, 0.1140 and 0.03, which are all in accordance with the exponential decay law, and the vibration wave firstly decays sharply and then decays slowly;the formula for the distance from the road header to the natural gas well was derived based on the vibration attenuation formula, to provide a new method for realizing the problem of precise and coordinated extraction by surface monitoring of the distance from down hole road headers to gas wells, collision prevention prediction and warning and prevention of collision of extraction equipment with gas wells.展开更多

Antibiotic resistance,which is encoded by antibiotic-resistance genes(ARGs),has proliferated to become a growing threat to public health around the world.With technical advances,especially in the popularization of met...Antibiotic resistance,which is encoded by antibiotic-resistance genes(ARGs),has proliferated to become a growing threat to public health around the world.With technical advances,especially in the popularization of metagenomic sequencing,scientists have gained the ability to decipher the profiles of ARGs in diverse samples with high accuracy at an accelerated speed.To analyze thousands of ARGs in a highthroughput way,standardized and integrated pipelines are needed.The new version(v3.0)of the widely used ARGs online analysis pipeline(ARGs-OAP)has made significant improvements to both the reference database-the structured ARG(SARG)database-and the integrated analysis pipeline.SARG has been enhanced with sequence curation to improve annotation reliability,incorporate emerging resistance genotypes,and determine rigorous mechanism classification.The database has been further organized and visualized online in the format of a tree-like structure with a dictionary.It has also been divided into sub-databases for different application scenarios.In addition,the ARGs-OAP has been improved with adjusted quantification methods,simplified tool implementation,and multiple functions with userdefined reference databases.Moreover,the online platform now provides a diverse biostatistical analysis workflow with visualization packages for the efficient interpretation of ARG profiles.The ARGs-OAP v3.0 with an improved database and analysis pipeline will benefit academia,governmental management,and consultation regarding risk assessment of the environmental prevalence of ARGs.展开更多
Schisandrin B(Sch B)is a monomer with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects,which are isolated from the plant Schisandra chinensis(Turcz)Baillon.We investigated the anti-gastric cancer(GC)effects of Sch B and its ...Schisandrin B(Sch B)is a monomer with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects,which are isolated from the plant Schisandra chinensis(Turcz)Baillon.We investigated the anti-gastric cancer(GC)effects of Sch B and its underlying molecular mechanisms.The Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to determine the effects of Sch B on the viability of GC and normal cell lines.Hoechst/propidium iodide staining and flow cytometry were used to assess the apoptosis induction of Sch B.Western blotting was used to evaluate the effects of Sch B on downstream apoptotic proteins.The DCFH-DA fluorescent probe was used to assess the regulatory effects of Sch B on reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels and related signaling pathways in GC cells.The results showed that Sch B could regulate the phosphorylation level of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)by upregulating ROS accumulation in gastric cancer cells,and then reduce the expression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and phosphorylated transcription 3(p-STAT3).In addition,Sch B downregulated the cell cycle proteins cyclin-dependent kinase 2/4/6 and cyclin D1/E,and arrested cells in the G0/G1 phase.Moreover,it also inhibited cell migration,which was reversed with Nacetylcysteine pretreatment.In summary,Sch B has killing effects on GC cells by upregulating the production of intracellular ROS and regulating the MAPK/STAT3/NF-κB signaling pathway,leading to the migration arrest and apoptosis of GC cells.展开更多
AIM:To evaluate the safety,effectiveness,and predictability of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the treatment of anisometropia,and to explore the personalized design scheme of SMILE in correcting adult my...AIM:To evaluate the safety,effectiveness,and predictability of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the treatment of anisometropia,and to explore the personalized design scheme of SMILE in correcting adult myopia anisometropia based on the nomogram.METHODS:It’s a prospective cohort study.Patients with anisometropic myopia of refractive difference≥2.0 diopters(D)who underwent SMILE between September 2020 and March 2021 were enrolled.Clinical features and visual function were assessed preoperatively and at 1wk,1,3,and 6mo after the operation.The examination included tests for uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),refractive errors,effectiveness index(preoperative CDVA/postoperative UDVA),safety index(postoperative CDVA/preoperative CDVA),nomogram and stereoscopic function.Paired t-test,Wilcoxon signed-rank test and repeated-measures analyses of variance were used for continuous variables,and Pearson Chi-squared test was used for categorical variables.RESULTS:The study involved 45 consecutive patients(average age:25.0±6.9y;82 out of 90 eyes underwent SMILE,while 8 eyes were not operated).The average preoperative spherical equivalent(SE)was-4.74±0.22 D.Six months after surgery,the effectiveness index was 1.05±0.12,and the safety index was 1.09±0.11.Seventy eyes(85.4%)exhibited SE correction error within±0.5 D.The percentage of eyes with Titmus stereoscopic function equal to or less than 200”significantly increased from 55.6%preoperatively to 88.9%postoperatively(P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference between higher myopia eyes and contralateral eyes in average nomogram value/spherical refraction ratio.CONCLUSION:SMILE is safe,effective and predictable in correcting myopic anisometropia,and it improves stereoscopic visual function of anisometropia patients.The precise and individualized design of the nomogram is a vital element to ensure the balance of both eyes after SMILE.展开更多
Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes containing crown ether parts have been widely used in a variety of chemical applications,such as cation detectors,because of their ability to selectively bind to alkali metal cations,Bis(15-c...Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes containing crown ether parts have been widely used in a variety of chemical applications,such as cation detectors,because of their ability to selectively bind to alkali metal cations,Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes and its derivatives with complexation of one-or two-alkali metal cation(Li^(+),Na^(+)and K^(+))have been theoretically investigat-ed by quantum chemistry methods.The coordination of alkali cations results in partial shrinkage of crown ethers,which directly affected natural distribution analysis charges and molecular orbital energy levels.The number of alkali metal ions has significant effects on absorption spectra and mean second hyperpolarizability.When one alkali metal ion was added to the anticonformer of bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were obvious-ly redshifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values were slightly increased;while two alkali metal ions were added to bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were ob-viously blue shifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values decreased.On the other hand,as the radius of the alkali ions increased,the mean second hyperpolarizability values of the compounds increased gradually.It is indicated that the mean second hyperpolarizability value is sensitive to the number and radius of the alkali metal cations,thus the third order nonlinear optical response can be used as a signal to detect the number and type of alkali met-al ions.展开更多

文摘Li metal batteries using high-voltage layered oxides cathodes are of particular interest due to their high energy density.However,they suffer from short lifespan and extreme safety concerns,which are attributed to the degradation of layered oxides and the decomposition of electrolyte at high voltage,as well as the high reactivity of metallic Li.The key is the development of stable electrolytes against both highvoltage cathodes and Li with the formation of robust interphase films on the surfaces.Herein,we report a highly fluorinated ether,1,1,1-trifluoro-2-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methoxy]ethane(TTME),as a cosolvent,which not only functions as a diluent forming a localized high concentration electrolyte(LHCE),but also participates in the construction of the inner solvation structure.The TTME-based electrolyte is stable itself at high voltage and induces the formation of a unique double-layer solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film,which is embodied as one layer rich in crystalline structural components for enhanced mechanical strength and another amorphous layer with a higher concentration of organic components for enhanced flexibility.The Li||Cu cells display a noticeably high Coulombic efficiency of 99.28%after 300 cycles and Li symmetric cells maintain stable cycling more than 3200 h at 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and 1.0m Ah/cm^(2).In addition,lithium metal cells using LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2) and Li CoO_(2) cathodes(both loadings~3.0 m Ah/cm^(2))realize capacity retentions of>85%over 240 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.4 V and 90%for 170 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.5 V,respectively.This study offers a bifunctional ether-based electrolyte solvent beneficial for high-voltage Li metal batteries.

文摘Exercise-with-melatonin therapy has complementary and synergistic effects on spinal cord injury and Alzheimer's disease,but its effect on stroke is still poorly understood.In this study,we established a rat model of ischemic stroke by occluding the middle cerebral artery for 60 minutes.We treated the rats with exercise and melatonin therapy for 7 consecutive days.Results showed that exercise-with-melatonin therapy significantly prolonged sleep duration in the model rats,increased delta power values,and regularized delta power rhythm.Additionally,exercise-with-melatonin therapy improved coordination,endurance,and grip strength,as well as learning and memory abilities.At the same time,it led to higher hippocampal CA1 neuron activity and postsynaptic density thickness and lower expression of glutamate receptor 2 than did exercise or melatonin therapy alone.These findings suggest that exercise-withmelatonin therapy can alleviate sleep disorder and motor dysfunction by increasing glutamate receptor 2 protein expression and regulating hippocampal CA1 synaptic plasticity.

文摘Antibiotic resistant bacteria(ARB)with antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)can reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of antibiotics and thus threaten human health.The United Nations Environment Programme considers antibiotic resistance the first of six emerging issues of concern.Advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)that combine ultraviolet(UV)irradiation and chemical oxidation(primarily chlorine,hydrogen peroxide,and persulfate)have attracted increasing interest as advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies.These integrated technologies have been reported to significantly elevate the efficiencies of ARB inactivation and ARG degradation compared with direct UV irradiation or chemical oxidation alone due to the generation of multiple reactive species.In this study,the performance and underlying mechanisms of UV/chlorine,UV/hydrogen peroxide,and UV/persulfate processes for controlling ARB and ARGs were reviewed based on recent studies.Factors affecting the process-specific efficiency in controlling ARB and ARGs were discussed,including biotic factors,oxidant dose,UV fluence,pH,and water matrix properties.In addition,the cost-effectiveness of the UV-based AOPs was evaluated using the concept of electrical energy per order.The UV/chlorine process exhibited a higher efficiency with lower energy consumption than other UV-based AOPs in the wastewater matrix,indicating its potential for ARB inactivation and ARG degradation in wastewater treatment.Further studies are required to address the trade-off between toxic byproduct formation and the energy efficiency of the UV/chlorine process in real wastewater to facilitate its optimization and application in the control of ARB and ARGs.

文摘As information acquisition terminals for artificial olfaction,chemiresistive gas sensors are often troubled by their cross-sensitivity,and reducing their cross-response to ambient gases has always been a difficult and important point in the gas sensing area.Pattern recognition based on sensor array is the most conspicuous way to overcome the cross-sensitivity of gas sensors.It is crucial to choose an appropriate pattern recognition method for enhancing data analysis,reducing errors and improving system reliability,obtaining better classification or gas concentration prediction results.In this review,we analyze the sensing mechanism of crosssensitivity for chemiresistive gas sensors.We further examine the types,working principles,characteristics,and applicable gas detection range of pattern recognition algorithms utilized in gas-sensing arrays.Additionally,we report,summarize,and evaluate the outstanding and novel advancements in pattern recognition methods for gas identification.At the same time,this work showcases the recent advancements in utilizing these methods for gas identification,particularly within three crucial domains:ensuring food safety,monitoring the environment,and aiding in medical diagnosis.In conclusion,this study anticipates future research prospects by considering the existing landscape and challenges.It is hoped that this work will make a positive contribution towards mitigating cross-sensitivity in gas-sensitive devices and offer valuable insights for algorithm selection in gas recognition applications.

文摘Background:In facial plastic surgery,patients with nasal deformity are often treated by rib cartilage transplantation.In recent years,cartilage tissue engineering has developed as an alternative to complex surgery for patients with minor nasal defects via injection of nasal filler material.In this study,we prepared an injectable nasal filler material containing poly-L-l actic acid(PLLA)porous microspheres(PMs),hyaluronic acid(HA)and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSCs).Methods:We seeded ADMSCs into as-prepared PLLA PMs using our newly invented centrifugation perfusion technique.Then,HA was mixed with ADMSC-i ncorporated PLLA PMs to form a hydrophilic and injectable cell delivery system(ADMSCincorporated PMH).Results:We evaluated the biocompatibility of PMH in vitro and in vivo.PMH has good injectability and provides a favorable environment for the proliferation and chondrogenic differentiation of ADMSCs.In vivo experiments,we observed that PMH has good biocompatibility and cartilage regeneration ability.Conclusion:In this study,a injectable cell delivery system was successfully constructed.We believe that PMH has potential application in cartilage tissue engineering,especially in nasal cartilage regeneration.

文摘Wastewater surveillance(WWS)can leverage its wide coverage,population-based sampling,and high monitoring frequency to capture citywide pandemic trends independent of clinical surveillance.Here we conducted a nine months daily WWS for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)from 12 wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),covering approximately 80%of the population,to monitor infection dynamics in Hong Kong,China.We found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus concentration in wastewater was correlated with the daily number of reported cases and reached two pandemic peaks three days earlier during the study period.In addition,two different methods were established to estimate the prevalence/incidence rates from wastewater measurements.The estimated results from wastewater were consistent with findings from two independent citywide clinical surveillance programmes(rapid antigen test(RAT)surveillance and serology surveillance),but higher than the cases number reported by the Centre for Health Protection(CHP)of Hong Kong,China.Moreover,the effective reproductive number(R_(t))was estimated from wastewater measurements to reflect both citywide and regional transmission dynamics.Our findings demonstrate that large-scale intensive WWS from WWTPs provides cost-effective and timely public health information,especially when the clinical surveillance is inadequate and costly.This approach also provides insights into pandemic dynamics at higher spatiotemporal resolutions,facilitating the formulation of effective control policies and targeted resource allocation.

文摘Internal insulation of high-voltage power modules is facing interesting failure risks,including high temperature overheating,breakdown fault,material cracking etc.,so it is imperative to urgently develop new dielectric materials with high thermal conductivity(λ),outstanding electrical insulation,and thermal stability properties.A method to construct controllable liquid crystalline cross-linking networks based on the synthesis of biphenyl epoxy monomer and the change of curing agent structures and curing temperature is proposed.The uniform nematic rod-like liquid crystalline domains were obtained by using 4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane as a curing agent under a pre-curing temperature of 105°C.The resulting film(abbreviated as TD-105)exhibitedλup to 0.53 W m^(-1) K^(-1) and a dielectric breakdown strength of 57.69 kV mm^(-1),which showed a simultaneous enhancement of 178%and 16%,respectively,compared to traditional bisphenol A epoxy resin.Moreover,it also exhibited lower dielectric loss and magnitude of partial discharge while having higher glass-transition temperature(190°C).A novel idea for the development of high-performance epoxy insulating materials for the application of high-voltage and large-power electrical equipment is provided.

文摘BACKGROUND Enhancing awareness and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)and postexposure prophylaxis(PEP)is vital to curb human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)spread.High-risk behaviors prevalent among sexually transmitted infection clinic outpatients underscore the need for increased PrEP/PEP education in this group.AIM To investigate the effects of both onsite and online health education on the knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP and PEP among individuals receiving PEP services.METHODS Participants were drawn from a cohort study on PEP service intervention at an STD/AIDS outpatient clinic in designated HIV/AIDS hospitals in Beijing,conducted from January 1 to June 30,2022.Health education was provided both onsite and online during follow-up.Surveys assessing knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP/PEP were administered at baseline and again at 24 wk post-intervention.RESULTS A total of 112 participants were enrolled in the study;105 completed the follow-up at week 24.The percentage of participants with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PrEP significantly increased from 65.2%and 69.6%at baseline to 83.8%and 82.9%at the end of the intervention(both P<0.05).Similarly,those with adequate knowledge of,and willingness to use,PEP increased from 74.1%and 77.7%at baseline to 92.4%and 89.5%at week 24(P<0.05).Being between 31 years and 40 years of age,having a postgraduate degree or higher,and reporting a monthly expenditure of RMB 5000 or more were found to be significantly associated with knowledge of PrEP and PEP(both P<0.05).CONCLUSION The findings show that both onsite and online health education significantly improved the knowledge of,and increased willingness to use,PrEP and PEP in individuals utilizing PEP services.

文摘BACKGROUND Retinal microcirculation alterations are early indicators of diabetic microvascular complications.Optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)is a noninvasive method to assess these changes.This study analyzes changes in retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients during short-term increases in blood glucose using OCTA.AIM To investigate the changes in retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients experiencing short-term increases in blood glucose levels using OCTA.METHODS Fifty volunteers were divided into three groups:Group 1[impaired fasting glucose(IFG)or impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)],Group 2(both IFG and IGT),and a control group.Retinal microcirculation parameters,including vessel density(VD),perfusion density(PD),and foveal avascular zone(FAZ)metrics,were measured using OCTA.Correlations between these parameters and blood glucose levels were analyzed in both the fasting and postprandial states.RESULTS One hour after glucose intake,the central VD(P=0.023),central PD(P=0.026),and parafoveal PD(P<0.001)were significantly greater in the control group than in the fasting group.In Group 1,parafoveal PD(P<0.001)and FAZ circularity(P=0.023)also increased one hour after glucose intake.However,no significant changes were observed in the retinal microcirculation parameters of Group 2 before or after glucose intake(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,Group 1 had a larger FAZ area(P=0.032)and perimeter(P=0.018),whereas Group 2 had no significant differences in retinal microcirculation parameters compared with the control group(P>0.05).Compared with Group 1,Group 2 had greater central VD(P=0.013)and PD(P=0.008)and a smaller FAZ area(P=0.012)and perimeter(P=0.010).One hour after glucose intake,Group 1 had a larger FAZ area(P=0.044)and perimeter(P=0.038)than did the control group,whereas Group 2 showed no significant differences in retinal microcirculation parameters compared with the control group(P>0.05).Group 2 had greater central VD(P=0.042)and PD(P=0.022)and a smaller FAZ area(P=0.015)and perimeter(P=0.016)than Group 1.At fasting,central PD was significantly positively correlated with blood glucose levels(P=0.044),whereas no significant correlations were found between blood glucose levels and OCTA parameters one hour after glucose intake.CONCLUSION A short-term increase in blood glucose has a more pronounced effect on retinal microcirculation in prediabetic patients with either IFG or IGT.

文摘BACKGROUND Patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor prognosis.In the previous cohort study on mCRC conducted by our team,it was observed that integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment could significantly prolong the overall survival(OS)of patients with colorectal cancer.Therefore,we further explored the survival benefits in the population with BRAF V600E mutant mCRC.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer.METHODS A cohort study was conducted on patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer admitted to Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to December 2022.The patients were divided into two cohorts.RESULTS A total of 34 cases were included,with 23 in Chinese-Western medicine cohort(cohort A)and 11 in Western medicine cohort(cohort B).The median overall survival was 19.9 months in cohort A and 14.2 months in cohort B,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.038,hazard ratio=0.46).The 1-3-year survival rates were 95.65%(22/23),39.13%(9/23),and 26.09%(6/23)in cohort A,and 63.64%(7/11),18.18%(2/11),and 9.09%(1/11)in cohort B,respectively.Subgroup analysis showed statistically significant differences in median OS between the two cohorts in the right colon,liver metastasis,chemotherapy,and first-line treatment subgroups(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Integrated Chinese and Western medicine can prolong the survival and reduce the risk of death in patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer,with more pronounced benefits observed in patients with right colon involvement,liver metastasis,combined chemotherapy,and first-line treatment.
文摘Purpose: Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury exacerbates myocardial cell death (including apoptosis and necrosis), leading to complications such as arrhythmias, myocardial stenosis, microvascular obstruction and heart failure, and it is particularly important to seek new strategies to mitigate reperfusion injury. In this paper, we will investigate whether atorvastatin can alleviate myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and verify its molecular mechanism. Methods: We successfully constructed a hypoxia-reperfusion (H/R) H9c2 cell model and transfected miR-26a-5p mimic, miR-26a-5p inhibitor and its negative control NC-mimic or NC-inhibitor into H9c2 cells using a transfection kit. The expression of miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 were detected by RT-qPCR assay, the expression of related proteins by Western blot assay, the cell viability of H9c2 cells by CCK-8 assay, the apoptosis rate of H9c2 cells by flow cytometry, the CK and LDH activity in cells by CK and LDH assay kits. The targeting relationship between miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 was verified by dual luciferase reporter gene assay. Results: MiR-26a-5p expression was decreased in H/R-induced cells and FOXO1 expression was increased in H/R-induced cells. Atorvastatin alleviated H/R injury in cardiomyocytes and was most effective at a concentration of 1 μM. Atorvastatin alleviated H/R injury in cardiomyocytes by upregulating miR-26a-5p expression, miR-26a-5p and FOXO1 were negatively regulated by targeting. Conclusion: Atorvastatin can alleviate H/R injury in cardiomyocytes by regulating miR-26a-5p/FOXO1.
文摘Aiming at the safety distance between coal mining working face and natural gas wells in the cross-mining area of multiple mineral resources, the cross- mining area of gas and coal resources in the Ordos Basin is taken as the engineering background. An anti-collision early warning technology method based on vibration wave propagation attenuation monitoring is proposed to prevent collision accidents between road headers and natural gas wells. Through the steel pipe and steel pipe concrete knocking vibration test and underground digging vibration test, the research results show that: The exponential decay coefficients of the vibration wave in steel pipe, steel pipe concrete and coal rock respectively are 0.1, 0.1140 and 0.03, which are all in accordance with the exponential decay law, and the vibration wave firstly decays sharply and then decays slowly;the formula for the distance from the road header to the natural gas well was derived based on the vibration attenuation formula, to provide a new method for realizing the problem of precise and coordinated extraction by surface monitoring of the distance from down hole road headers to gas wells, collision prevention prediction and warning and prevention of collision of extraction equipment with gas wells.

文摘Under the carbon neutrality goal,coal enterprises must seek breakthroughs from abandoned mines,develop new resources in the new era,turn problems into countermeasures,and participate in the carbon emissions market,for contributing to the accomplishment of the national strategic goal of carbon neutrality.To this end,we investigated the relevant national policies and regulations to clarify the boundaries disclosed by the carbon information of enterprises,understood the development direction of carbon storage in abandoned mines,and clarified the transformation and development of carbon storage in aban-doned mines.We made a few suggestions:(1)China should learn from its past experience and other countries to develop the energy industry with Chinese characteristics and reform the economic system.(2)Coal enterprises must actively respond to the national carbon information disclosure policy,clarify their own responsibilities and carbon emission boundaries.(3)It is necessary to proactively obtain advanced knowledge and plan carbon storage pathways for abandoned mines.(4)Devel-opment problems of coal enterprises should be deduced using cases.The'dual carbon'goals should be achieved steadily step-by-step.(5)Three measures,i.e.improving the existing resource structure,coordinating the information of abandoned mines,and promoting the cultivation of scientific and technological talents.

文摘Antibiotic resistance,which is encoded by antibiotic-resistance genes(ARGs),has proliferated to become a growing threat to public health around the world.With technical advances,especially in the popularization of metagenomic sequencing,scientists have gained the ability to decipher the profiles of ARGs in diverse samples with high accuracy at an accelerated speed.To analyze thousands of ARGs in a highthroughput way,standardized and integrated pipelines are needed.The new version(v3.0)of the widely used ARGs online analysis pipeline(ARGs-OAP)has made significant improvements to both the reference database-the structured ARG(SARG)database-and the integrated analysis pipeline.SARG has been enhanced with sequence curation to improve annotation reliability,incorporate emerging resistance genotypes,and determine rigorous mechanism classification.The database has been further organized and visualized online in the format of a tree-like structure with a dictionary.It has also been divided into sub-databases for different application scenarios.In addition,the ARGs-OAP has been improved with adjusted quantification methods,simplified tool implementation,and multiple functions with userdefined reference databases.Moreover,the online platform now provides a diverse biostatistical analysis workflow with visualization packages for the efficient interpretation of ARG profiles.The ARGs-OAP v3.0 with an improved database and analysis pipeline will benefit academia,governmental management,and consultation regarding risk assessment of the environmental prevalence of ARGs.

文摘Schisandrin B(Sch B)is a monomer with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects,which are isolated from the plant Schisandra chinensis(Turcz)Baillon.We investigated the anti-gastric cancer(GC)effects of Sch B and its underlying molecular mechanisms.The Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to determine the effects of Sch B on the viability of GC and normal cell lines.Hoechst/propidium iodide staining and flow cytometry were used to assess the apoptosis induction of Sch B.Western blotting was used to evaluate the effects of Sch B on downstream apoptotic proteins.The DCFH-DA fluorescent probe was used to assess the regulatory effects of Sch B on reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels and related signaling pathways in GC cells.The results showed that Sch B could regulate the phosphorylation level of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)by upregulating ROS accumulation in gastric cancer cells,and then reduce the expression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and phosphorylated transcription 3(p-STAT3).In addition,Sch B downregulated the cell cycle proteins cyclin-dependent kinase 2/4/6 and cyclin D1/E,and arrested cells in the G0/G1 phase.Moreover,it also inhibited cell migration,which was reversed with Nacetylcysteine pretreatment.In summary,Sch B has killing effects on GC cells by upregulating the production of intracellular ROS and regulating the MAPK/STAT3/NF-κB signaling pathway,leading to the migration arrest and apoptosis of GC cells.

文摘AIM:To evaluate the safety,effectiveness,and predictability of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the treatment of anisometropia,and to explore the personalized design scheme of SMILE in correcting adult myopia anisometropia based on the nomogram.METHODS:It’s a prospective cohort study.Patients with anisometropic myopia of refractive difference≥2.0 diopters(D)who underwent SMILE between September 2020 and March 2021 were enrolled.Clinical features and visual function were assessed preoperatively and at 1wk,1,3,and 6mo after the operation.The examination included tests for uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),refractive errors,effectiveness index(preoperative CDVA/postoperative UDVA),safety index(postoperative CDVA/preoperative CDVA),nomogram and stereoscopic function.Paired t-test,Wilcoxon signed-rank test and repeated-measures analyses of variance were used for continuous variables,and Pearson Chi-squared test was used for categorical variables.RESULTS:The study involved 45 consecutive patients(average age:25.0±6.9y;82 out of 90 eyes underwent SMILE,while 8 eyes were not operated).The average preoperative spherical equivalent(SE)was-4.74±0.22 D.Six months after surgery,the effectiveness index was 1.05±0.12,and the safety index was 1.09±0.11.Seventy eyes(85.4%)exhibited SE correction error within±0.5 D.The percentage of eyes with Titmus stereoscopic function equal to or less than 200”significantly increased from 55.6%preoperatively to 88.9%postoperatively(P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference between higher myopia eyes and contralateral eyes in average nomogram value/spherical refraction ratio.CONCLUSION:SMILE is safe,effective and predictable in correcting myopic anisometropia,and it improves stereoscopic visual function of anisometropia patients.The precise and individualized design of the nomogram is a vital element to ensure the balance of both eyes after SMILE.

文摘Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes containing crown ether parts have been widely used in a variety of chemical applications,such as cation detectors,because of their ability to selectively bind to alkali metal cations,Bis(15-crown-5)-stilbenes and its derivatives with complexation of one-or two-alkali metal cation(Li^(+),Na^(+)and K^(+))have been theoretically investigat-ed by quantum chemistry methods.The coordination of alkali cations results in partial shrinkage of crown ethers,which directly affected natural distribution analysis charges and molecular orbital energy levels.The number of alkali metal ions has significant effects on absorption spectra and mean second hyperpolarizability.When one alkali metal ion was added to the anticonformer of bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were obvious-ly redshifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values were slightly increased;while two alkali metal ions were added to bis(15-crown-5)-stilbene,the absorption spectra were ob-viously blue shifted and the mean second hyperpolarizability values decreased.On the other hand,as the radius of the alkali ions increased,the mean second hyperpolarizability values of the compounds increased gradually.It is indicated that the mean second hyperpolarizability value is sensitive to the number and radius of the alkali metal cations,thus the third order nonlinear optical response can be used as a signal to detect the number and type of alkali met-al ions.

文摘Marine collagen peptides(MCPs)are natural products prepared by hydrolyzing marine collagen protein through a variety of chemical methods or enzymes.MCPs have a range of structures and biological activities and are widely present in marine species.MCPs also have a small molecular weight,are easily modified,and absorbed by the body.These properties have attracted great interest from researchers studying antioxidant,anti-tumor,and anti-aging activities.MCPs of specific molecular weights have significant anti-tumor activity and no toxic side effects.Thus,MCPs have the potential use as anti-cancer adjuvant drugs.Free radicals produced by oxidation are closely related to human aging,cancer,arteriosclerosis,and other diseases,but their relationship with cancer is not well known.In this review,we focus on the antioxidant properties of MCPs in the treatment of cancer,highlighting their antioxidant molecular structure and potential for clinical practice.
