Depositional process of hyperpycnal flow deposits:A case study on Lower Cretaceous Sangyuan outcrop in the Luanping Basin,Northeast China

Sedimentary process research is of great significance for understanding the distribution and characteristics of sediments.Through the detailed observation and measurement of the Sangyuan outcrop in Luanping Basin,this paper studies the depositional process of the hyperpycnal flow deposits,and divides their depositional process into three phases,namely,acceleration,erosion and deceleration.In the acceleration phase,hyperpycnal flow begins to enter the basin nearby,and then speeds up gradually.Deposits developed in the acceleration phase are reverse.In addition,the original deposits become unstable and are taken away by hyperpycnal flows under the eroding force.As a result,there are a lot of mixture of red mud pebbles outside the basin and gray mud pebbles within the basin.In the erosion phase,the reverse deposits are eroded and become thinner or even disappear.Therefore,no reverse grading characteristic is found in the proximal major channel that is closer to the source,but it is still preserved in the middle branch channel that is far from the source.After entering the deceleration phase,normally grading deposits appear and cover previous deposits.The final deposits in the basin are special.Some are reverse,and others are normal.They are superimposed with each other under the action of hyperpycnal flow.The analysis of the Sangyuan outcrop demonstrates the sedimentary process and distribution of hyperpycnites,and reasonably explain the sedimentary characteristics of hyperpycnites.It is helpful to the prediction of oil and gas exploration targets in gravity flow deposits.

Efficiency analysis by mfERG and OCT of intravitreal injection with ranibizumab on diabetic macular edema

AIM: To analyze the clinical efficacy of intravitreal injection of ranibizumab(IVR) on diabetic macular edema(DME) with multifocal electroretinography(mf ERG) and optical coherence tomography(OCT).METHODS: A total of 41 patients(41 eyes) with DME were treated with IVR. The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), mf ERG results, and OCT were analyzed to compare to the baselines at 1 wk, 1, and 3 mo after operation.RESULTS: The BCVA was significantly improved in all eyes at each time point(P<0.001). The macular area leakage and edema were reduced 1 wk and 1 mo after IVR, and the central fovea thickness(CFT) was significantly reduced compared to baseline(P<0.001). The mf ERG, twodimensional and three-dimensional images all showed that the macular fovea(1 ring) response density decreased, and the fovea and macular area spikes significantly decreased or disappeared. The amplitude density of the P1 wave was increased, and the latency of the P1 wave was shortened than preoperation(P<0.001). At 1 wk and 1 mo after the operation, there was a negative correlation between the amplitude density of P1 waves and CFT.CONCLUSION: OCT and mf ERG fully demonstrate the importance of IVR for DME patients from the macular morphology and function, especially the significance of mf ERG in this disease.

Development trend and current situation of acupuncture-moxibustion indications

To discuss the dominant diseases of acupuncture and moxibustion and their trend in development.At present,the concepts of acupuncture and moxibustion disease spectrum include efficacy-based graded disease spectrum of acupuncture and moxibustion and evidence-based graded disease spectrum of acupuncture and moxibustion.Hence,the ranges of dominant diseases are various in terms of the different concepts.Regarding the efficacy-based graded disease spectrum,81 dominant diseases are included.In accordance with the principle of disease spectrum of evidence-based acupuncture and moxibustion,the articles of systematic reviews and meta-analysis of acupuncture and moxibustion published in Chinese medical journals were retrieved,and thus 68 dominant diseases of acupuncture and moxibustion were collected.In view of the retrieval result and the effect characteristics of acupuncture and moxibustion,the authors believe that the following 4 aspects should be involved in the development of the dominant diseases of acupuncture and moxibustion,named(1)painful diseases,(2)neurological disorders,(3)mental,cognitive and affective diseases and(4)immune-endocrine disorders.
