In this paper,a simple method to plate a hydrophobic coating on the inner surface of a small-scaled tube was proposed,where the coating consisted of carbon microspheres.Three common plastics polystyrene,polycarbonate ...In this paper,a simple method to plate a hydrophobic coating on the inner surface of a small-scaled tube was proposed,where the coating consisted of carbon microspheres.Three common plastics polystyrene,polycarbonate and polyethylene were used as the feedstocks to be processed in supercritical water in a quartz tubular reactor.After reaction,the contact angle of droplet on the inner surface of the quartz tube was turned out to be over 100°,significantly larger than that of the blank tube 54°.When processing polystyrene in the 750℃ supercritical water for 10 min,the largest contact angle was obtained,up to 145°.Besides,in this sample,the size of carbon spheres was smallest,about 2.09μm diameter on average.When comparing among different types of plastics under the same condition,the contact angle of surface made from PC took the dominant position over that of PS and PE,124°,100°and 90°,respectively.In the sample made from PC,carbon spheres adhered into a mountainlike shape,producing a binary geometric structure.Furthermore,this research could be helpful in the discussion of plastic waste management and carbon spheres fabrication with low cost.展开更多

Objectives:In order to improve the prediction accuracy of forced-air pre-cooling for blueberries,a mathematical model of forced-air pre-cooling for blueberries based on the micro-cluster method was established.Materia...Objectives:In order to improve the prediction accuracy of forced-air pre-cooling for blueberries,a mathematical model of forced-air pre-cooling for blueberries based on the micro-cluster method was established.Materials and Methods:In order to determine the optimal micro-cluster model parameters suitable for forced air pre-cooling of blueberries,three factors controlling the micro-cluster geometry parameters were evaluated by 7/8 pre-cooling time,uniformity,and convective heat transfer coeffcient.Results:It was found that the optimal values of the number of micro-clusters(n3),the distance between individual units within a micro-cluster(a)and the distance between micro-clusters(c)were 3,0.75,and 0.2,respectively.Under these optimal values,the temperature error of the micro-cluster method remained below 1°C,achieving highly accurate temperature predictions during the blueberry pre-cooling process.The results showed that the micro-cluster method effectively solved the challenges of complex confguration,long simulation time,and low accuracy compared to the porous medium and equivalent sphere methods.Conclusion:Based on the above analysis,it can be concluded that the micro-cluster method provids a theoretical basis for optimizing forced-air pre-cooling processes and making informed control decisions.展开更多
In order to treat dyes in the wastewater of the printing industry and to reutilize walnut shell(WS)waste gener-ate economic benefits,supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-CO_(2))pretreatment technology was developed to prep...In order to treat dyes in the wastewater of the printing industry and to reutilize walnut shell(WS)waste gener-ate economic benefits,supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-CO_(2))pretreatment technology was developed to prepare porous biochar as a precursor for adsorption material.Orthogonal experiments were conducted at the temperatures of 200,300,and 400℃with durations of 20,40,and 60 min,and a control group was set up using N_(2)pretreatment.Then,KOH activation was employed to prepare biochar adsorption material.The biochars were analyzed and characterized using TGA,BET,SEM,FT-IR,and XRD,and the liquid and gas phase products of the pretreatment process were analyzed semi-quantitatively and quantitatively using GC-MS and gas chromatography.Methylene blue(MB)dye was selected as an indicator to measure the adsorption capacity of biochar,and adsorption kinetics were analyzed based on the data.The results indicate that pretreatment with SC-CO_(2)effectively enhanced the performance and yield of the activated carbon.The highest specific surface area increased by 18%,and the maximum adsorption of MB increased by 23%compared to the N_(2)control group.The yield increased by 8-262%and the specific surface area increased by 50-192%compared to the direct activation of walnut shell(WS).During the pretreatment processes for the preparation of biochar adsorption material with the best specific surface area,phenol-enriched bio-oil was produced as a by-product which has economic value.展开更多
