In particular, burst inte...This paper investigates the fundamental data detection problem with burst interference in massive multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM) systems. In particular, burst interference may occur only on data symbols but not on pilot symbols, which means that interference information cannot be premeasured. To cancel the burst interference, we first revisit the uplink multi-user system and develop a matrixform system model, where the covariance pattern and the low-rank property of the interference matrix is discussed. Then, we propose a turbo message passing based burst interference cancellation(TMP-BIC) algorithm to solve the data detection problem, where the constellation information of target data is fully exploited to refine its estimate. Furthermore, in the TMP-BIC algorithm, we design one module to cope with the interference matrix by exploiting its lowrank property. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively mitigate the adverse effects of burst interference and approach the interference-free bound.展开更多
As a revolutionary hardware technology that can reconfigure the propagation environment,reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)have been regarded as a promising solution to enhance wireless networks.In this paper,we...As a revolutionary hardware technology that can reconfigure the propagation environment,reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)have been regarded as a promising solution to enhance wireless networks.In this paper,we consider a multiuser multiple-input single-output(MISO)wireless power transfer(WPT)system,which is assisted by several RISs.In order to improve energy efficiency and reduce hardware cost,we consider that the energy transmitter(ET)in the WPT system is equipped with a constant-envelope analog beamformer,instead of a digital beamformer.Focusing on user fairness,we study a minimum received power maximization problem by jointly optimizing the ET beamforming and the RIS phase shifts,subject to the constant-envelope constraints.We iteratively solve this non-convex maxmin problem by leveraging both the successive convex approximation(SCA)method and the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)algorithm.Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and show attractive performance gain brought by RISs.展开更多
It is known that the high level of sugar including glucose suppresses seed germination through ABA signal.ABI5 is an essential component to mediate ABA-dependent seed germination inhibition,but underlying mechanism ne...It is known that the high level of sugar including glucose suppresses seed germination through ABA signal.ABI5 is an essential component to mediate ABA-dependent seed germination inhibition,but underlying mechanism needs more investigation.Previous study demonstrated the PIF4 activated the expression of ABI5 to suppress seed germination in darkness.Here we reported that PIF4 also mediated the seed germination inhibition through ABI5 under high concentration of glucose treatment.Furthermore,we found that PIF4 interacted with PAP1,the central factor to control anthocyanin biosynthesis.Such interaction was confirmed in vitro and in planta.Biochemical and physiological analysis revealed that PAP1 bond the promoter of ABI5 to suppress its expression,thus enhanced seed germination under high concentration of glucose treatment.Specially,PAP1 competed with PIF4 to antagonize the activation of PIF4 on ABI5 expression,thus promoted seed germination under high glucose treatment.Given these,we uncover a novel role for PIF4 and PAP1 in controlling seed germination under high glucose treatment,and reveal their antagonistic mechanism by which coordinates ABI5 expression to control seed germination in response to the glucose signal.展开更多
Objective The aim of this study is to report the treatment result of childhood excranial malignant germ cell tumors and discuss the experience for recurrent and refractory cases treatment from our center.Methods We ha...Objective The aim of this study is to report the treatment result of childhood excranial malignant germ cell tumors and discuss the experience for recurrent and refractory cases treatment from our center.Methods We have retrospectively analyzed 58 extracranial malignant germ cell tumor patients treated with surgery and chemotherapy from our center over a 9-year period.Another 14 recurrent and refractory cases referred from other centers were added to the study for salvage approach.We evaluated the treatment results for primary cases and relapsed cases with a median follow-up of 61.5 months.Several factors were analysed to evaluate their power to the outcome of these cases.Results The 5-year event-free and overall survival for primary cases were 74.1±5.7%and 86.2±4.5%,respectively.25 recurrent or refractory cases entered the salvage approach study,and 17 patients were alive till the end of follow-up.We demonstrated superior survival outcome for those with successful local control through pre-operative and post-operative radiotherapy,second-look surgery and multi-drug secondline chemotherapies.Conclusion The outcome for childhood extracranial malignant germ cell tumors is generally favorable.For recurrent and refractory cases,multi-modality treatment approaches including radiotherapy,salvage chemotherapy and secondlook surgery are important for better local control.展开更多
TiO_(2) nanoparticles(nano-TiO_(2))are widely used in the world,and a considerable amount of nano-TiO_(2) is released into the environment,with toxic effects on organisms.In the various species of higher plants,growth...TiO_(2) nanoparticles(nano-TiO_(2))are widely used in the world,and a considerable amount of nano-TiO_(2) is released into the environment,with toxic effects on organisms.In the various species of higher plants,growth,including seed germination,root elongation,and biomass accumulation,is affected by nano-TiO_(2).However,the underlying molecular mechanisms remain to be elucidated.In this study,we observed that nano-TiO_(2) promoted root elongation in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,we found that nano-TiO_(2) elevated auxin accumulation in the root tips of the auxin marker lines DII-VENUS and DR5::GUS,and,correspondingly,quantitative real-time PCR analysis revealed that nano-TiO_(2) increased the expression levels of auxin biosynthesis-and transport-related genes.GFP fluorescence observation using transgenic PIN2-GFP indicated that nano-TiO_(2) promoted root growth by inducing PIN2 accumulation.Thus,we propose that nano-TiO_(2) promote root growth in Arabidopsis thaliana by altering the expression levels of auxin biosynthesis-and transport-related genes.展开更多

Tides play a key role in regulating the circulation and water properties around Antarctica,yet tidal currents and the corresponding influences in Prydz Bay have not been quantified with observational datasets.This stu...Tides play a key role in regulating the circulation and water properties around Antarctica,yet tidal currents and the corresponding influences in Prydz Bay have not been quantified with observational datasets.This study focuses on the observed characteristics of tidal currents and quantifies the tidal contribution to the basal melting of the Amery Ice Shelf(AIS).Long-term hydrography observations are provided by 10 moorings over the continental shelf and 6 borehole sites drilled through the AIS.Based on the mooring observations,we analyze the observed tidal currents,and evident seasonality in the mixed diurnal–semidiurnal tidal currents is identified.Barotropic tides dominate the tidal currents at the AIS front,except at the western corner where the seabed is abruptly deeper.The spatially and temporally averaged magnitude of tidal currents for all the current meter records is only~3 cm s^(−1).However,an observed maximum tidal velocity of~11 cm s^(−1) occurs at the AIS front,and the maximal time-averaged tidal kinetic energy reaches~31%of the total kinetic energy over the outer continental shelf.Based on the borehole observations,tide-like pulsing is identified in the ocean layer adjacent to the AIS basal surface.The maximal tidal contribution of the AIS basal melting is estimated at 69%based on a simple model.Due to the paucity of long-term velocity observations in the sub-ice-shelf cavity,the uncertainties of the estimated tide-induced melting in this study could be attributed to the simulated velocity.展开更多

The performance of a device-to-device(D2D)underlay communication system is limited by the co-channel interference between cellular users(CUs)and D2D devices.To address this challenge,a reconfigurable intelligent surfa...The performance of a device-to-device(D2D)underlay communication system is limited by the co-channel interference between cellular users(CUs)and D2D devices.To address this challenge,a reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)aided D2D underlay system is studied in this paper.A two-timescale optimization scheme is proposed to reduce the required channel training and feedback overhead,where transmit beamforming at the base station(BS)and power control at the D2D transmitters are adapted to instantaneous effective channel state information(CSI);and the RIS phase shifts are adapted to slow-varying channel mean.Based on the two-timescale optimization scheme,we aim to maximize the D2D ergodic weighted sum-rate(WSR)subject to a given outage probability constrained signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio(SINR)target for each CU.The two-timescale problem is decoupled into two sub-problems,and the two sub-problems are solved iteratively.Numerical results verified that the two-timescale based optimization performs better than two baselines,and also demonstrated a favourable trade-off between system performance and CSI overhead.展开更多
