Significance of combined detection of LunX mRNA and tumor markers in diagnosis of lung carcinoma

Objective：To evaluate the significance of combined detection of LunX mRNA,carcinoembryonic antigen （CEA）,neuron-specific enolase （NSE）,and cytokeratin 21-1 fragment （CYFRA21-1） in clinical diagnosis of lung carcinoma.Methods：Based on the quantitative RT-PCR and chemiluminescence immunoassay,the expression levels of LunX mRNA,CEA,NSE,and CYFRA21-1 in 113 patients with lung carcinoma （case group） and 30 healthy participants （control group） were detected.Meantime,the sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy of the combination detection were also explored.Results：The positive rates of LunX mRNA in peripheral blood and CEA,NSE,and CYFRA21-1 in serum were significandy higher in case group than those in control group （x2=17.295,16.825,19.148,and 17.450; P＜0.05）.There was no statistical significance when positive rate of LunX mRNA was evaluated among different pathological types （x2=0.047,P＞0.05）.The positive rate of LunX mRNA in stage Ⅰ ＋ Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ had a significandy increasing tendency （x2=10.565,32.462,P＜0.05）.The positive rate of CYFRA21-1 was highest in squamous carcinoma （78.5％）,the positive rate of NSE was highest in small cell carcinoma （86.7％）,and the positive rate of CEA wag highest in lung adenocarcinoma （80.4％）.The sensitivity and accuracy of the combination detection were 91.1％ and 88.1％,respectively.Conclusions：The combined detection of LunX mRNA and tumor markers （TMs） including CEA,NSE,and CYFRA21-1 in peripheral blood is helpful to increase the diagnostic accuracy of lmg cancer.Also,it can inform the pathological typing of lung carcinoma.

Development of Functional Foods with Cordyceps militaris as a Raw Material

Cordyceps militaris,as a rare edible fungus,has high medicinal and nutritional value,and has attracted much attention.This paper summarized a series of functional foods developed with C.militaris as a raw material from the perspective of Cordyceps drinks,dry C.militaris products,Cordyceps seasonings,and other Cordyceps foods in four broad categories and ten sub-categories,providing reference for continuous development and utilization.

Clinical Pathological Analysis in 104 Ductal Breast Cancer Cases

Ductal breast cancer is a clinically heterogeneous disease;we investigate the correlation between tumor size, comedo necrosis, number of cell mitoses and axillary lymph node metastasis in ductal breast cancer. In this study, 104 ductal breast cancer specimens were collected and divided into 3 groups: T1 group (tumor size ≤ 2 cm), T2 group (2 5.0 cm). Among those specimens, 95 cases were diagnosed with invasive ducted carcinoma, and 9 cases were ductal carcinoma in-situ (DCIS). Results show that T3 group has a higher rate of axillary lymph node metastasis than T2 group and T1 group;T2 group has a higher rate of lymph node metastasis than T1 group. The patients with the number of cell mitoses (≥10) were also has a higher rate of axillary lymph node metastasis (P = 0.0139) than the patients with the number of cell mitoses (<10). No significance was found between comedo necrosis lesions and axillary lymph node metastasis, though the frequency of comedo necrosis lesions in patients with axillary lymph node metastasis was higher than those in non-metastatic patients. It is concluded that the tumor size and the number of cell mitoses were risk factors for axillary lymph node involvement in ductal breast cancer.

Effects of Light Time, Light Intensity and Light Color on the Growth and Quality of Cordyceps militaris

Cordyceps militaris,which is a precious edible fungus,contains effective ingredients such as cordycepin and adenosine,and can treat a variety of diseases.However,light has the greatest effect on the growth of C.militaris in the process of artificial cultivation.In this study,the effects of light time,light intensity and light color on the growth,physiology,yield and quality of C.militaris were discussed to provide reference for the efficient artificial cultivation of C.militaris.
