Light plays an important role in the photosynthesis and metabolic process of microalgae.However,how different light conditions regulate the biomass production and protein accumulation of microalgae is mostly unknown.In this study,the influence of different light conditions,including light colors,densities,and light:dark cycles on the cell growth and biochemical composition of Spirulina platensis was symmetrically characterized.Under different colored lights,S.platensis all shows an increase trend within the increased light intensity ranges;however,each showing different optimal light intensities.At the same light intensity,different colored lights show different growth rate of S.platensis following the sequence of red>white>green>yellow>blue.The maximum growth rate and protein accumulation were determined as 21.88 and 5.10 mg/(L·d)when illuminated under red LED.The energy efficiency of different light sources was calculated and ranked as red>white>blue≈green>yellow.Transcriptomic analysis suggests that red light can promote cell growth and protein accumulation by upregulating genes related to photosynthesis,carbon fixation,and C-N metabolism pathways.This study provides a conducive and efficient way to promote biomass production and protein accumulation of S.platensis by regulating light conditions. 展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the effects of seeding rate and light on the seed yield and active ingredients of Vernonia anthelmintica.[Methods]With V.anthelmintica L.Willd as the research object,the seed yield was determined by staged harvesting combined with the actual cutting and measuring method;and the caffeoylquinic acids(CQA)were used as the characterization indexes,and high performance liquid chromatography was used to determine the contents of 3,4-CQA,3,5-CQA and 4,5-CQA of V.anthelmintica seeds under different seeding rate+light treatments,so as to compare the changes in seed yield and chemical composition of V.anthelmintica under different seeding rates and light factors.[Results]In Moyu County,Hetian and similar areas,the suitable planting rate of V.anthelmintica was in the range of 13.5-15.0 kg/hm^(2).For different harvesting purposes,the optimal seeding rate and light conditions of V.Anthelmintica were different.[Conclusions]The seeding rate and light conditions can be used to interfere with the seed yield and quality of V.anthelmintica. 展开更多

Diabetes is a common endocrine and metabolic disease,which is mainly caused by insufficient insulin secretion and improper secretion of glucagon by the pancreas.The mortality of diabetes and its complications is only second to tumors and cardiovascular diseases.At present,the research on natural drugs related to diabetes attracts much attention,and roses,as a traditional Chinese medicine that can be used as both medicine and food,are considered to be a new therapeutic agent for diabetes research in the future.In this paper,progress in research on the treatment of diabetes by rose was reviewed from the aspects of chemical constituents,pharmacological effects and their relationship with diabetes.The review includes Rosa rugosa Thunb.,Branchlets R.rugosa Thunb.,R.damascena Miller and R.damascena‘Hetian’.It can be seen that roses are rich in polyphenols,flavonoids,pectic bee pollen polysaccharide,quercetin,tannins,organic acids and other hypoglycemic chemical components.Modern pharmacological studies show that roses have hypoglycemic effects.It has been reported in animal experiments that rose extract can reduce blood sugar and improve diabetes symptoms.However,the clinical hypoglycemic effect and hypoglycemic mechanism of rose have yet to be clarified,and the comparative study of hypoglycemic effects of different rose varieties has not been published. 展开更多
