Although biomass-derived carbon(biochar)has been widely used in the energy field,the relation between the carbonization condition and the physical/chemical property of the product remains elusive.Here,we revealed the ...Although biomass-derived carbon(biochar)has been widely used in the energy field,the relation between the carbonization condition and the physical/chemical property of the product remains elusive.Here,we revealed the carbonization condition's effect on the morphology,surface property,and electrochemical performance of the obtained carbon.An open slit pore structure with shower-puff-like nanoparticles can be obtained by finely tuning the carbonization temperature,and its unique pore structure and surface properties enable the Li–O_(2) battery with cycling longevity(221 cycles with 99.8%Coulombic efficiency at 0.2 mA cm^(−2) and controlled discharge–charge depths of 500 mAh g^(−1))and high capacity(16,334 mAh g^(−1) at 0.02 mA cm^(−2)).This work provides a greater understanding of the mechanism of the biochar carbonization procedure under various pyrolysis conditions,paving the way for future study of energy storage devices.展开更多
Objective This study aimed to analyze the clinical efficacy of the Jianpi Shengxue tablet for treating renal anemia.Methods A total of 200 patients with renal anemia from December 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled a...Objective This study aimed to analyze the clinical efficacy of the Jianpi Shengxue tablet for treating renal anemia.Methods A total of 200 patients with renal anemia from December 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups.Patients in the control group were treated with polysaccharide-iron complex,and those in the experimental group were administered Jianpi Shengxue tablet.After 8 weeks of continuous treatment,the therapeutic outcomes regarding anemia were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the red blood cell(RBC)count,hematocrit(HCT),reticulocyte percentage(RET),ferritin(SF),serum iron(SI),transferrin saturation(TSAT),and serum albumin(ALB)all increased(P<0.01),and the clinical symptom score and total iron binding capacity decreased(P<0.01)in the experimental group.Moreover,the improvements in RBC,HCT,RET,SF,SI,TAST,ALB,and clinical symptoms(fatigue,anorexia,dull skin complexion,numbness of hands and feet)in the experimental group were significantly greater than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate for treating renal anemia was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The Jianpi Shengxue tablet demonstrates efficacy in treating renal anemia,leading to significant improvements in the laboratory examination results and clinical symptoms of patients with renal anemia.展开更多
Peroxisomes are organelles enclosed by a single membrane and are present in various species.The abruption of peroxisomes is correlated with peroxisome biogenesis disorders and single peroxisomal enzyme deficiencies th...Peroxisomes are organelles enclosed by a single membrane and are present in various species.The abruption of peroxisomes is correlated with peroxisome biogenesis disorders and single peroxisomal enzyme deficiencies that induce diverse diseases in different organs.However,little is known about the protein compositions and corresponding roles of heterogeneous peroxisomes in various organs.Through transcriptomic and proteomic analyses,we observed heterogenous peroxisomal components among different organs,as well as between testicular somatic cells and different developmental stages of germ cells.As Pex3 is expressed in both germ cells and Sertoli cells,we generated Pex3 germ cell-and Sertoli cell-specific knockout mice.While Pex3 deletion in Sertoli cells did not affect spermatogenesis,the deletion in germ cells resulted in male sterility,manifested as the destruction of intercellular bridges between spermatids and the formation of multinucleated giant cells.Proteomic analysis of the Pex3-deleted spermatids revealed defective expressions of peroxisomal proteins and spermiogenesis-related proteins.These findings provide new insights that PEX3-dependent peroxisomes are essential for germ cells undergoing spermiogenesis,but not for Sertoli cells.展开更多
The rational design of large-area exposure,nonagglomeration,and longrange dispersion of metal nanoparticles(NPs)in the catalysts is critical for the development of energy storage and conversion systems.Little attentio...The rational design of large-area exposure,nonagglomeration,and longrange dispersion of metal nanoparticles(NPs)in the catalysts is critical for the development of energy storage and conversion systems.Little attention has been focused on modulating and developing catalyst interface contact engineering between a carbon substrate and dispersed metal.Here,a highly dispersed ultrafine ruthenium(Ru)NP strategy by double spatial confinement is proposed,that is,incorporating directed growth of metal–organic framework crystals into a bacterial cellulose templating substrate to integrate their respective merits as an excellent electrocatalytic cathode catalyst for a quasi-solid-state Li–O_(2) battery.The porous carbon matrix with highly dispersed ultrafine Ru NPs is well designed and used as cathode catalysts in a Li–O_(2) battery,demonstrating a high discharge areal capacity of 6.82 mAh cm^(–2) at 0.02 mA cm^(–2),a high-rate capability of 4.93 mAh cm^(–2) at 0.2 mA cm^(–2),and stable discharge/charge cycling for up to 500 cycles(2000 h)with low overpotentials of~1.4 V.This fundamental understanding of the structure–performance relationship demonstrates a new and promising approach to optimize highly efficient cathode catalysts for solid-state Li–O_(2) batteries.展开更多
The low temperature molten salt method was used to extract potassium from K-feldspar ore, and some related factors including mass ratio between NaNO_3, NaOH, H_2O and K-feldspar ore, particle size of K-feldspar ore,re...The low temperature molten salt method was used to extract potassium from K-feldspar ore, and some related factors including mass ratio between NaNO_3, NaOH, H_2O and K-feldspar ore, particle size of K-feldspar ore,reaction temperature and time were investigated, respectively. In addition, the optimum condition for this method was determined by a series of condition experiments. What was more, the K-feldspar ore and the leach residue after reaction based on the above optimum condition were analyzed by XRD, SEM and EDS,separately. The results of which indicated that the mechanism of extraction of potassium for this method was according to the ion exchange reaction between sodium ion and potassium ion, and the extraction ratio of potassium had an obvious improvement than that of traditional methods, which could reach up to 96.25%.Therefore, this method can be a feasible solution to extract potassium from K-feldspar ore for its low energy consumption and high efficiency.展开更多

Objective This study assessed the weight loss changes and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with advanced tumors receiving platinum-containing chemotherapy.Methods We retrospectively reviewed 297 patients with adv...Objective This study assessed the weight loss changes and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with advanced tumors receiving platinum-containing chemotherapy.Methods We retrospectively reviewed 297 patients with advanced cancers[124 gastrointestinal(GI)cancer patients,119 lung cancer patients and 54 head and neck cancer(HNC)patients]receiving first-line chemotherapy at Tongji Hospital.The patients’changes in body weight,body mass index(BMI),and biochemical parameters(serum haemoglobin and albumin levels)were compared before and after two chemotherapy cycles.Results More than half[54.88%(163/297)]of the patients had experienced unintentional weight loss in the 6 months before chemotherapy,and weight loss≥5%and≥10%of the body mass was noted in 35.69%and 20.20%of the patients,respectively.After two cycles of platinum-based chemotherapy,the proportions of patients with a>5%reduction in body weight among patients with GI,lung,and head and neck cancers were 47.5%(59/124),44.53%(53/119),and 46.2%(25/54),respectively.The patients with GI and lung cancers were more vulnerable to extreme weight loss(≥10%)than those with HNC(P=0.025).The serum hemoglobin levels were also remarkably decreased relative to those before chemotherapy(all P<0.05).Common GI symptoms reported by all patients included anorexia(61.28%),vomiting(52.53%),and nausea(51.18%).A higher proportion of patients with≥10%weight loss experienced anorexia and vomiting(OR=12.21 and 3.61,P=0.008 and 0.047,respectively).Conclusions For advanced cancer patients receiving platinum-based chemotherapy,the GI symptoms are the major factor related to their nutritional status.Appropriate nutritional screening,evaluation and treatment should be applied during the treatment of cancer in order to reduce GI symptoms and improve the patient’s nutritional status.展开更多

Specifically, the DF...In this paper, we consider a multi-relay cooperative communication network that consists of a source node transmitting to its destination with the help of multiple decode-and- forward (DF) relays. Specifically, the DF relays that succeed in decoding the source signal are allowed to re-transmit their decoded results simultaneously to the destination in a cooperative beamforming manner. In order to carry out the cooperative beamforming, the destination needs to send the quantized channel state information (CSI) to the relays through a limited feedback channel in the face of channel quantization errors (CQE). We propose a CQE oriented multi-relay beamforming (MRB) scheme, denoted CQE-MRB for short, for the sake of improving the throughput of relay-destination transmissions. An effective throughput defined as the difference between the transmission rate and the feedback rate is used to measure an outage probability of the source-destination transmission. Simulation results demonstrate that the outage performance of proposed CQEMRB scheme is improved substantially with an increasing number of relays. Moreover, it is shown that the number of channel quantization bits can be further optimized to minimize the outage probability of proposed CQE-MRB scheme.展开更多
