Objective We aimed to explore the association between obesity and depression and the role of systemic inflammation in older adults.Methods Adults≥65 years old(n=1,973)were interviewed at baseline in 2018 and 1,459 we...Objective We aimed to explore the association between obesity and depression and the role of systemic inflammation in older adults.Methods Adults≥65 years old(n=1,973)were interviewed at baseline in 2018 and 1,459 were followed up in 2021.General and abdominal obesity were assessed,and serum C-reactive protein(CRP)levels were measured at baseline.Depression status was assessed at baseline and at follow-up.Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between obesity and the incidence of depression and worsening of depressive symptoms,as well as the relationship between obesity and CRP levels.The associations of CRP levels with the geriatric depression scale,as well as with its three dimensions,were investigated using multiple linear regressions.Results General obesity was associated with worsening depression symptoms and incident depression,with an odds ratio(OR)[95%confidence interval(CI)]of 1.53(1.13-2.12)and 1.80(1.23-2.63),especially among old male subjects,with OR(95%CI)of 2.12(1.25-3.58)and 2.24(1.22-4.11),respectively;however,no significant relationship was observed between abdominal obesity and depression.In addition,general obesity was associated with high levels of CRP,with OR(95%CI)of 2.58(1.75-3.81),especially in subjects free of depression at baseline,with OR(95%CI)of 3.15(1.97-5.04),and CRP levels were positively correlated with a score of specific dimension(life satisfaction)of depression,P<0.05.Conclusion General obesity,rather than abdominal obesity,was associated with worsening depressive symptoms and incident depression,which can be partly explained by the systemic inflammatory response,and the impact of obesity on depression should be taken more seriously in the older male population.展开更多

Objective:Patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models have shown great promise in preclinical and translational applications,but their consistency with primary tumors in phenotypic,genetic,and pharmacodynamic heterogeneity h...Objective:Patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models have shown great promise in preclinical and translational applications,but their consistency with primary tumors in phenotypic,genetic,and pharmacodynamic heterogeneity has not been well-studied.This study aimed to establish a PDX repository for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and to further elucidate whether it could preserve the heterogeneity within and between tumors in patients.Methods:A total of 75 surgically resected NSCLC specimens were implanted into immunodeficient NOD/SCID mice.Based on the successful establishment of the NSCLC PDX model,we compared the expressions of vimentin,Ki67,EGFR,and PD-L1 proteins between cancer tissues and PDX models using hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemical staining.In addition,we detected whole gene expression profiling between primary tumors and PDX generations.We also performed whole exome sequencing(WES)analysis in 17 first generation xenografts to further assess whether PDXs retained the patient heterogeneities.Finally,paclitaxel,cisplatin,doxorubicin,atezolizumab,afatininb,and AZD4547 were used to evaluate the responses of PDX models to the standard-of-care agents.Results:A large collection of serially transplantable PDX models for NSCLC were successfully developed.The histology and pathological immunohistochemistry of PDX xenografts were consistent with the patients’tumor samples.WES and RNA-seq further confirmed that PDX accurately replicated the molecular heterogeneities of primary tumors.Similar to clinical patients,PDX models responded differentially to the standard-of-care treatment,including chemo-,targeted-and immuno-therapeutics.Conclusions:Our established PDX models of NSCLC faithfully reproduced the molecular,histopathological,and therapeutic characteristics,as well as the corresponding tumor heterogeneities,which provides a clinically relevant platform for drug screening,biomarker discovery,and translational research.展开更多
The heterogeneous nodes in the Internet of Things(IoT)are relatively weak in the computing power and storage capacity.Therefore,traditional algorithms of network security are not suitable for the IoT.Once these nodes ...The heterogeneous nodes in the Internet of Things(IoT)are relatively weak in the computing power and storage capacity.Therefore,traditional algorithms of network security are not suitable for the IoT.Once these nodes alternate between normal behavior and anomaly behavior,it is difficult to identify and isolate them by the network system in a short time,thus the data transmission accuracy and the integrity of the network function will be affected negatively.Based on the characteristics of IoT,a lightweight local outlier factor detection method is used for node detection.In order to further determine whether the nodes are an anomaly or not,the varying behavior of those nodes in terms of time is considered in this research,and a time series method is used to make the system respond to the randomness and selectiveness of anomaly behavior nodes effectively in a short period of time.Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of the data transmitted by the network and achieve better performance.展开更多
Hebei is one of the most air polluted provinces in China. According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) for the severe fog-haze month of Jan. 2013, seven of the top ten most polluted cities in China are ...Hebei is one of the most air polluted provinces in China. According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) for the severe fog-haze month of Jan. 2013, seven of the top ten most polluted cities in China are located in Hebei Province. In this study, the air pollution history and status of the Hebei Province are reviewed and discussed, using the governmental published Air Pollution Index (API), the academic observations by various scientific research groups and the long-term statistics of visibility and haze frequencies. It is found that within the Hebei Province, the air pollution in the southern cities is much more severe than the northern cities. Particulate matter (PM) is undoubtedly the major air pollutant, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) pollutions are also unnegligible. Ozone (O3) pollution in larger cities, such as Shijiazhuang, is significant. Air pollution control history from 1998 is discussed as well. Although Hebei Province has made a great effort on air quality, the pollutant emissions, such as SO2 and fly ash, showed a notable increase in 2001 to 2006. However, after 2006 the emissions started to decrease due to the strict implementation of the national 11th Five Year Plan (FYP). In addition, regional jointly air pollution control and prevention strategies are expected in the future to substantially change the severe air pollution status in Hebei Province.展开更多
To develop suitable nicotine derivatives for potential use in next generation tobacco products,mixtures of nicotine with tartaric acid were prepared.The prepared freeze-dried product was a white powder with good water...To develop suitable nicotine derivatives for potential use in next generation tobacco products,mixtures of nicotine with tartaric acid were prepared.The prepared freeze-dried product was a white powder with good water solubility.The structure of nicotine tartrate was evaluated with X-ray powder diffraction,near infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(ss-NMR).The crystal structure of nicotine tartrate was analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.According to the obtained atomic coordinates,equivalent temperature factor,bond length and torsion angles,the chemical formula of nicotine tartrate was proposed as 2(C4H5O6)· C10H16N2·H2O.The relative molecular mass was 480.42,and the crystal density was 1.501 mg/m^3 The crystal structure of nicotine tartrate belongs to the orthorhombic system and the monoclinic space group is P212121.Nicotine tartrate was used in gum-based chewing tobacco to substitute pure nicotine,which showed a sustained nicotine release when compared to traditional ultrafine tobacco powder as assessed by an in situ dissolution method.展开更多
The present study was designed to investigate the influence of the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate on pharmacokinetic parameters of methotrexate in methotrexate-induced renal injury rats.A simple and efficient hig...The present study was designed to investigate the influence of the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate on pharmacokinetic parameters of methotrexate in methotrexate-induced renal injury rats.A simple and efficient high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS)method was developed to determine methotrexate in rat plasma.Methotrexate and syringic acid(internal standard)were extracted from rat plasma samples by protein precipitation with acetonitrile.The analysis was performed on a CAPCELL PAK C18column(150 mm×4.6 mm,5μm)with acetonitrile and 5 mmol/l ammonium acetate aqueous(10:90,v/v).The linear range was 5.0×10-2to 100.0μg/ml for methotrexate.Other parameters were all within the acceptance criteria.The validated method was successfully applied the pharmacokinetic study of methotrexate between two methotrexate treated groups(with and without the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate).Compared with the methotrexate treated alone group,the pharmacokinetic parameters in the methotrexate with the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate group showed significantly lower MRT(0-t),MRT(0-∞) and T1/2.Results suggested that methotrexate can be rapidly eliminated,cleared or metabolized in rat blood,which might be related to the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate.The method provided deeper insights into rational clinical use of methotrexate with the pretreatment of piperazine ferulate on cancer patients with renal dysfunction.展开更多

In this paper,based on sound statistical theories,a negative binominal distribution method in the reputation direct update for WSNs is proposed. Results show that the proposed method is more suitable and time-saving for the reputation update of the resource constraint WSNs and can improve the computation power efficiency as well.展开更多

It is often difficult to quickly and efficiently search by using simple data management software, such as excel. In order to solve the problem, our team used Python development tool to build high-performance retrieval software, which enabled the equipment custodian to maintain or redesign the database according to actual needs. Through actual verification, this system not only can greatly improve the accuracy of device access, but also has good expansion portability, which could manage various multimedia data systems.展开更多
