Efficacy of Willis covered stent of intracranial pseudoaneurysms in the internal carotid artery: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of a novel coated stent in the treatment of intracranial pseudoaneurysm.Methods:MEDLINE,EMBASE,and PubMed databases were searched for literature published between 1990 and April 2022 according to PRISMA guidelines.All studies with≥10 patients reporting successful implantation of Willis covered stent,therapeutic effect,complications,and postoperative follow-up were included.The combined incidence and corresponding 95%confidence intervals were assessed using a generalized linear mixed method and random effects model.Results:Five studies(116 patients with pseudoaneurysms)were included.The experimental groups in the selected studies showed a combined technical success rate of 81.03%(OR=18.31,95%CI=9.39-35.69,I^(2)=79%,P<0.001).Clinical follow-up showed that the complete cure rate was as high as 94.4%after the follow-up(OR=106.81,95%CI=39.08-291.88,I^(2)=0%,P=0.71).Conclusions:Willis covered stent is feasible,safe,and effective in the treatment of intracranial pseudoaneurysm. 展开更多

Background:We aimed to prepare a non-invasive,reproducible,and controllable rat model of intracerebral hemorrhage with focused ultrasound(FUS).Methods:A rat intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)model was established by combining FUS and microbubbles(μBs),and edaravone was used to verify whether the free radical scavenger had a protective effect on the model.The brain tissue of each group was sectioned to observe the gross histology,blood-brain barrier(BBB)permeability,cerebral infarction volume,and histopathological changes.Results:Compared with the FUS group,the BBB permeability was significantly increased in the FUS+μBs(F&B)group(p=0.0021).The second coronal slice in the F&B group had an obvious hemorrhage lesion,and the FUS+μBs+edaravone(F&B&E)group had smaller hemorrhage areas;however,ICH did not occur in the FUS group.The cerebral infarction volume in the F&B group was significantly larger than that in the FUS group(p=0.0030)and F&B&E group(p=0.0208).HE staining results showed that nerve fibrinolysis,neuronal necrosis,microglia production,and erythrocytes were found in both the F&B group and the F&B&E group,but the areas of the nerve fibrinolysis and neuronal necrosis in the F&B group were larger than the F&B&E group.Conclusions:A rat ICH model was successfully prepared using theμBs assisted FUS treatment,and edaravone had a therapeutic effect on this model.This model can be used to study the pathophysiological mechanism of ICH-related diseases and in preclinical research on related new drugs. 展开更多

A Noise Reduction Method for Multiple Signals Combining Computed Order Tracking Based on Chirplet Path Pursuit and Distributed Compressed Sensing

With the development of multi-signal monitoring technology,the research on multiple signal analysis and processing has become a hot subject.Mechanical equipment often works under variable working conditions,and the acquired vibration signals are often non-stationary and nonlinear,which are difficult to be processed by traditional analysis methods.In order to solve the noise reduction problem of multiple signals under variable speed,a COT-DCS method combining the Computed Order Tracking(COT)based on Chirplet Path Pursuit(CPP)and Distributed Compressed Sensing(DCS)is proposed.Firstly,the instantaneous frequency(IF)is extracted by CPP,and the speed is obtained by fitting.Then,the speed is used for equal angle sampling of time-domain signals,and angle-domain signals are obtained by COT without a tachometer to eliminate the nonstationarity,and the angledomain signals are compressed and reconstructed by DCS to achieve noise reduction of multiple signals.The accuracy of the CPP method is verified by simulated,experimental signals and compared with some existing IF extraction methods.The COT method also shows good signal stabilization ability through simulation and experiment.Finally,combined with the comparative test of the other two algorithms and four noise reduction effect indicators,the COT-DCS based on the CPP method combines the advantages of the two algorithms and has better noise reduction effect and stability.It is shown that this method is an effective multi-signal noise reduction method. 展开更多

<strong>Purpose:</strong> To investigate how much dose discrepancy would be caused by the anatomy changes during the radiotherapy (RT) course. <strong>Methods:</strong> Ten cervical cancer and ... <strong>Purpose:</strong> To investigate how much dose discrepancy would be caused by the anatomy changes during the radiotherapy (RT) course. <strong>Methods:</strong> Ten cervical cancer and ten nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) CT datasets from RT patients were enrolled. The body contour from different directions changed to simulate the weight loss or gain for cervical cancer patients, who had been treated with external-beam RT using intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). Moreover, the body contour from facial and shoulder superior-inferior positional change had been also assessed for NPC patients using IMRT or VMAT. The new CT (n-CT) was generated by the body contour changes with different directions based on original CT datasets. The dosimetric parameters to target volumes and organs at risk (OARs) were evaluated in Eclipse based on n-CT. <strong>Results:</strong> The target volumes and OARs were influenced by the body contour changes. Body contour expansion resulted in coverage loss, whereas body contour shrinkage increased the dose to the OARs. These findings were generally consistent for both IMRT and VMAT plans. Over a course of research, the dose to 95% of the target volumes for cervical cancer decreased by up to 2.83% per cm for IMRT and 2.87% per cm for VMAT (P < 0.05). And the influence on H&N plans was that the dose to 95% of the target volumes (low risk regions) decreased by up to 4.45% per cm. <strong>Conclusions:</strong> The RT staff could determine whether resimulation and replaning or not according to which body contour directions were changed. 展开更多

The method of establishing data structures plays an important role in the efficiency of parallel multilevel fast multipole algorithm(PMLFMA).Considering the main complements of multilevel fast multipole algorithm(MLFMA) memory,a new parallelization strategy and a modified data octree construction scheme are proposed to further reduce communication in order to improve parallel efficiency.For far interaction,a new scheme called dynamic memory allocation is developed.To analyze the workload balancing performance of a parallel implementation,the original concept of workload balancing factor is introduced and verified by numerical examples.Numerical results show that the above measures improve the parallel efficiency and are suitable for the analysis of electrical large-scale scattering objects. 展开更多

Aim To determine the effect of local simvastatin application on the mRNA expression level of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the tooth sockets of rat. Methodology Forty-eight male Wistar rats were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n=24). Polylactic acid/polyglycolic acid copolymer carriers, with or without simvastatin, were implanted into extraction sockets of right mandibular incisors. The expression of TGF-β1, BMP-2 and VEGF mRNA was determined by in situ hybridization in the tooth extraction socket at five days, one week, two weeks and four weeks after implantation. Results The fusiform stroma cells in the tooth extraction socket began to express TGF-β1, BMP-2 and VEGF mRNA in both experimental and control groups from one week after tooth extraction until the end of experiment. The expression of TGF-131 and BMP-2 mRNA in the experimental group was significantly up-regulated after one, two and four weeks, and expression of VEGF mRNA was significantly increased after one and two weeks compared with that in the control group. Conclusion The findings indicate that local administration of simvastatin can influence alveolar bone remodeling by regulating the expression of a school of growth factors which are crucial to osteogenesis in the tooth extraction socket. 展开更多

The shape of fruit apex is critical to appearance quality in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.),of which the genetic basis was poorly understood,and the use of marker-assisted breeding for fruit apex improvement is not available yet.In this study,the variation of fruit apex in different cucumber ecotypes was evaluated by fruit apex angle(variation coefficient from 7.1%to 15.7%)and fruit apex index(variation coefficient from 8.8%to 22.6%).Fruit apex associated QTLs were mapped by using 145 F_(2:3) families and 155 F_(2:6) population that were derived from the cross of different ecotype cucumbers.Phenotyping of the mapping populations were conducted in four experiments in 2 years.Four majoreffect QTLs,Bfal4.1,Bfai4.1,Bfad6.1 and Bfai6.1 were consistently and reliably detected across two environments which could explain 11.6%-33.6%phenotypic variations(R^(2))in the F_(2:3) families.Three major-effect QTLs,Ofai4.1(R^(2)=13.4%-15.5%),Ofal4.1(R^(2)=10.7%-12.8%),and Ofad6.1(R^(2)=11.6%-12.4%)were stably detected in the F_(2:6) population in two experiments.Bfai4.1,Bfal4.1,Ofai4.1 and Ofal4.1 were integrated to be consensus QTL fa4.1,within which 11 candidate genes were predicted.Bfai6.1 and Bfad6.1 were integrated to be consensus QTL fa6.1.QTL interaction analysis showed that Bfai6.1 has epistatic effect with Bfai4.1.This study revealed two reliable major-effect fruit apex related QTLs across multi-genetic backgrounds and environments in cucumber.The possible candidate genes regulating the shape of fruit apex,and the relationship between cell division and fruit apex morphogenesis were discussed. 展开更多

It is desirable to develop highly efficient and sustainable catalytic systems for CO_(2) photoreduction using efficient heterogeneous photosensitizers(PSs);however,this remains a great challenge.In this study,we doped[Ru(bpy)3]^(2+) into UiO-metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)to facilitate the separation and reuse of noble metal PS.By simply adjusting the loading amount,a series of heterogeneous photoactive MOFs,namely,UiO-Ru-1,UiO-Ru-2,and UiO-Ru-3,were constructed to act as heterogeneous PSs to drive the efficient CO_(2) photoreduction under visible-light irradiation.Remarkably,UiO-Ru-2 exhibited the best photosensitizing ability among the prepared MOFs in sensitizing the iron quarterpyridine catalyst(C-l),and the CO yield reached as high as 171 mmol/g with ca.100%selectivity,which is a record value among all the MOF-based photocatalysts.This photoactive MOF can be recycled and reused three times without any obvious activity loss,signifying its good photochemical stability.Experimental investigations confirmed that the strong visible absorption,long-lived excited state,appropriate redox potential,good photocatalytic stability,and excellent collaboration with C-l were attributable to the superior catalytic activity.This work highlights an avenue for constructing heterogeneous PSs with excellent recyclability using MOF as the platform for efficient CO_(2) reduction. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: An immortal microglial cell line, BV2, was treated with varying concentrations of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to induce a pathological situation. Supernatant was harvested and incubated with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and, concomitantly, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell differentiation was observed. DESIGN: A controlled observation, in vitro experiment. SETTING: Department of Neurology, First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University. MATERIALS: Five male 2-3-week-old Sprague Dawley rats were purchased from Animal Laboratory Center of China Medical University and included in this study. The protocol was performed in accordance with ethical guidelines for the use and care of animals. The microglial cell line BV2 was produced by Cell Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences. LPS was produced by Sigma Company, USA. METHODS: This study was performed in the Central Laboratory of China Medical University from September 2006 to March 2007. Rat femoral and tibial bone marrow was collected for separation and primary culture of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell cultures were divided into 5 groups: control group, non-activated group, as well as low-, medium-, and high-dose LPS groups. In the control group, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were cultured with Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM) supplemented with fetal bovine serum (volume fraction 0. 1). In the non-activated group, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were incubated with non-activated BV2 supernatant. In the low-, medium-, and high-dose LPS groups, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were incubated with LPS (0.01,0.1 and 1 μg/L, respectively)-activated BV2 supernatant. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells was detected by immunofluorescence staining. RESULTS: GFAP-positive cells were detected in each group; however, the greatest number were found in the high-dose LPS group. The number of GFAP-positive cells was significantly greater in the high- and medium-dose groups, compared to the control, non-activated, and low-dose LPS groups (P 〈 0.05). However there was no significant difference between the medium- and high-dose LPS groups (P 〉 0.05). NSE-positive cells were also detected in each group. However, there was no significant difference between any two groups (P 〉 0.05). CONCLUSION: Microglia, when activated to some ertent, could induce neuroglial cell differentiation from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells; however, they did not exhibit the capacity to markedly promote neuronal cell differentiation. When microglia are activated, the capacity to induce bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell differentiation reaches a peak level, but is not increased with greater activation rates. 展开更多

Surface preparation and isotropic shear bond strength properties of superficial bovine dentin

The effect of different types of surface preparation with SiC abrasive paper on the shear bond strength (SBS) of superficial bovine dentin obtained from the incisal, middle and cervical thirds were evaluated. Dentin substrates were obtained with twenty specimens for each locationgrit combination. Superficial dentin was exposed and prepared to 120-, 320-, or 600-grit SiC;the dentin surfaces were treated with Optibond Solo Plus (Kerr) and polymerized for 20 s. The specimens were placed in a jig, filled with resin composite Z100 (3M-ESPE), polymerized for 40 s according to manufacturer’s instructions, and stored for 24 h at 37℃ and 100% humidity. After 24 h, SBS was measured using a loading testing machine (Ul-tradent) and expressed in megapascals. A two-way ANOVA and Tukey test were used for data analysis. No statistically significant effect of the location (P = 0.254) or interaction grit-location (P = 0.629) were observed on SBS. Statistically significant effect of the grit on the SBS was detected (P < 0.001) with 320-grit being statistically different from 600-grit (P = 0.011) and 120-grit (P < 0.001). No significant differences were observed between 600-grit and 120-grit (P = 0.413). Regardless of the location, 320-grit consistently showed the lowest SBS indicating that different surface grit preparations have an effect on dentin SBS values. 展开更多

The results showed that the rooting rate of cuttings of the ten clones ranged from 30.9% to 83.0%. Among them, the rooting rate of cuttings of clones SM01 and SM06 was higher than that of other clones, and there were significant differences between different clones in the rooting rate of cuttings. The rooting rate of the semi-lignified shoots having two leaves could be improved significantly. The treatment of the cuttings by GGR6 solutions had significant effects on their rooting rate. 展开更多

(G) effects on bovine immature oocyte in vitro maturation culture. Methods: In total, 2000 bovine cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were purchased commercially and cultured in media with ovulation stimulation drugs Gonal-F and Luveris (0, 5, 10, 20, 40 IU/mL), individually, for maturation in vitro. 2000 Oocytes were divided evenly into two groups, Luveris and Gonal-F groups, individually, 1000 Oocytes. After 24 and 48h culture, cumulus expansion was assessed under dissecting microscopes. Oocyte maturation (GV, MI, MII) was determined by examining nuclear maturation and polar body formation under inverted microscopes. Results: Luveris and Gonal-F enhanced oocyte maturation in vitro in a dose-dependently manner. Culture media supplemented with L or G significantly improved MⅡ Oocyte maturation rates after culture for 24 h and 48 h in comparison with the control group. Oocyte maturation rates were 33.3% and 37.5%(20 IU/mL), individually, 33.3% and 53.6% (40 IU/mL);20 IU/mL G was 15.1% and 16.2%;40 IU/mL G was 38.9% and 39.5%, respectively. Conclusion: LH (Luveris) can promote prophase bovine immature oocytes developmental competence in vitro, which is mostly likely stimulated by FSH(Gonal-F ). Furthermore, LH can delay oocytes GVBD that is very useful for IVF clinical medication guidance. 展开更多
