The Solar Close Observations and Proximity Experiments(SCOPE)mission,which has been proposed by the Yunnan Observatories,Chinese Academy of Sciences,aiming to operate at a distance of 5 to 10 solar radii from the Sun,plans to complete the in situ detection of the solar eruption process and observation of the magnetic field structure response.The solar flux received by the satellite ranges from 10^(3) to 10^(6) Wm^(-2),which poses challenges for thermal management of the solar arrays.In this work,the solar array cooling system of the Parker Solar Probe is discussed,the developments of the fluid loop technique are reviewed,and a research plan for a next-generation solar array cooling system is proposed.This paper provides a valuable reference for novel thermal control systems in spacecraft for solar observation. 展开更多

A novel algorithm named randomized binary gravita- tional search (RBGS) algorithm is proposed for the set covering problem (SCP). It differs from previous SCP approaches because it does not work directly on the SCP matrix. In the proposed algo- rithm, the solution of SCP is viewed as multi-dimension position of objects in the binary search space. All objects in the space attract each other by the gravity force, and this force causes a global movement of all objects towards the objects with heavier masses which correspond to good solutions. Computation results show that the proposed algorithm is very competitive. In addition, the proposed aigodthm is extended for SCP to solve the fault diagno- sis problem in graph-based systems. 展开更多

In video surveillance, there are many interference factors such as target changes, complex scenes, and target deformation in the moving object tracking. In order to resolve this issue, based on the comparative analysis of several common moving object detection methods, a moving object detection and recognition algorithm combined frame difference with background subtraction is presented in this paper. In the algorithm, we first calculate the average of the values of the gray of the continuous multi-frame image in the dynamic image, and then get background image obtained by the statistical average of the continuous image sequence, that is, the continuous interception of the N-frame images are summed, and find the average. In this case, weight of object information has been increasing, and also restrains the static background. Eventually the motion detection image contains both the target contour and more target information of the target contour point from the background image, so as to achieve separating the moving target from the image. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Multi-Objective Optimization of Traffic Signal Timing at Typical Junctions Based on Genetic Algorithms

With the rapid development of urban road traffic and the increasing number of vehicles,how to alleviate traffic congestion is one of the hot issues that need to be urgently addressed in building smart cities.Therefore,in this paper,a nonlinear multi-objective optimization model of urban intersection signal timing based on a Genetic Algorithm was constructed.Specifically,a typical urban intersection was selected as the research object,and drivers’acceleration habits were taken into account.What’s more,the shortest average delay time,the least average number of stops,and the maximum capacity of the intersection were regarded as the optimization objectives.The optimization results show that compared with the Webster method when the vehicle speed is 60 km/h and the acceleration is 2.5 m/s^(2),the signal intersection timing scheme based on the proposed Genetic Algorithm multi-objective optimization reduces the intersection signal cycle time by 14.6%,the average vehicle delay time by 12.9%,the capacity by 16.2%,and the average number of vehicles stop by 0.4%.To verify the simulation results,the authors imported the optimized timing scheme into the constructed Simulation of the Urban Mobility model.The experimental results show that the authors optimized timing scheme is superior to Webster’s in terms of vehicle average loss time reduction,carbon monoxide emission,particulate matter emission,and vehicle fuel consumption.The research in this paper provides a basis for Genetic algorithms in traffic signal control. 展开更多

Backgrounds:Streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic monkey is a wide used preclinical animal model for the investigation of diabetes such as islet transplantation and development of diabetic drugs.There are serious side effects of this method,including nausea,emesis,weight loss,liver damage,renal failure,and metabolic acidosis.In order to reduce the side effects,diabetic monkeys were induced using clinicalgrade STZ.However,clinical-grade STZ is not available in China.Here,we establised a method by using 100 mg/kg analytical-grade STZ to induce complete diabetes in cynomolgus monkey without generating adverse effects to liver and renal.Methods:Three cynomolgus monkeys were used in this study.100 mg/kg STZ dissolved in normal saline and infused through vein line in 5 minutes after indwelling catheter in the carotid artery and jugular vein.After the STZ administration,blood glucose levels were examined every 1 or 2 hours in the first 48 hours.Then,blood glucose levels were examined twice per day during the first week after the STZ injection.Insulin and C-peptide levels were measured by ELISA.Blood chemistry of hepatic and renal function tests were performed.Insulin and glucagon expression in the islet of diabetic monkey and normal monkey were examined by immunohistochemistry assays.Results:The stimulated C-peptide level(Intravenous glucose tolerance test)which is less than 0.5 ng/mL,the triphasic blood glucose response and the destroyed β cell suggested the complete induction of diabetes model.No apparent adverse effects were observed including no signs of vomiting and toxicity after STZ injection.Conclusion:In summary,we established a safe and reproducible STZ-induced diabetic cynomolgus monkey model for islet transplantation which will be used to develop novel approaches for the treatment of diabetes. 展开更多

The comprehensive numerical simulation of the tower shadow effect on floating offshore wind turbines(FOWTs),an area less explored compared to fixed-bottom wind turbines,is presented in this study.The atmospheric boundary layer inflow and the joint north sea wave project random wave are used as the operating conditions for FOWT.The combination of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)software simulator for wind farm applications and turbine simulation tool OpenFAST is used to implement fluid-structure interaction calculations.The output power,platform motion,wake velocity deficit and vortex structures are analyzed to reveal the influence of the tower shadow effect on the FOWT.The results indicate that due to the fluctuation caused by the turbulent wind and the floating platform motion,the tower shadow effect of FOWT is less significant for its periodic power decay than that of fixed-bottom wind turbines.And according to the velocity deficit analysis,the influence area of the tower shadow effect on the wake is mainly in the near wake region. 展开更多

Synthetic biology is an emerging field focusing on engineering genetic devices and biomolecular systems for a variety of applications from basic biology to biotechnology and medicine.Thanks to the tremendous advances in genomics and the chemical synthesis of DNA in the past decade,scientists are now able to engineer genetic devices and circuits for cancer research and intervention,which offer promising therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.In this article,we provide a systemic review on recent development achieved by the synthetic biologists,oncologists and clinicians of one National“973”Plan.We expand the synthetic biology toolkits involving DNA,RNA and protein bio-parts to explore various issues in cancer research,such as elucidation of mechanisms and pathways,creation of new diagnostic tools and invention of novel therapeutic approaches.We claimed that the Chinese synthetic biologists are promoting the basic research productions of tumor synthetic biology into the clinic. 展开更多
