Therefore, the Solar Upper Transition Region Imager(SUTRI) was proposed by Chinese scientists and launched in 2022 July. Right now, the first imaging observation of the upper transition region around 46.5 nm has been carried out by SUTRI. To ensure the spectral and temporal resolution of the SUTRI telescope, we have developed a narrowband Sc/Si multilayer. Based on the extreme ultraviolet(EUV)reflectivity measurements, the multilayer structure has been modified for ensuring the peak position of reflectivity was at 46.5 nm. Finally, the narrowband Sc/Si multilayer was successfully deposited on the hyperboloid primary mirror and secondary mirrors. The deviation of multilayer thickness uniformity was below than 1%, and the average EUV reflectivity at 46.1 nm was 27.8% with a near-normal incident angle of 5°. The calculated bandwidth of the reflectivity curve after primary and secondary mirrors was 2.82 nm, which could ensure the requirements of spectral resolution and reflectivity of SUTRI telescope to achieve its scientific goals.展开更多

Proteins secreted from bone cells, namely osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts exert regulation on osteoblastogenesis, osteclastogenesis, and angiogenesis in a paracrine manner. Osteoblasts secrete a range of different molecules including RANKL/OPG, M-CSF, SEMA3A, WNT5A, and WNT16 that regulate osteoclastogenesis. Osteoblasts also produce VEGFA that stimulates osteoblastogenesis and angiogenesis. Osteocytes produce sclerostin(SOST) that inhibits osteoblast differentiation and promotes osteoclast differentiation. Osteoclasts secrete factors including BMP6, CTHRC1, EFNB2, S1P, WNT10B, SEMA4D, and CT-1 that act on osteoblasts and osteocytes, and thereby influencea A osteogenesis. Osteoclast precursors produce the angiogenic factor PDGF-BB to promote the formation of Type H vessels, which then stimulate osteoblastogenesis. Besides, the evidences over the past decades show that at least three hormones or "osteokines"from bone cells have endocrine functions. FGF23 is produced by osteoblasts and osteocytes and can regulate phosphate metabolism. Osteocalcin(OCN) secreted by osteoblasts regulates systemic glucose and energy metabolism, reproduction, and cognition. Lipocalin-2(LCN2) is secreted by osteoblasts and can influence energy metabolism by suppressing appetite in the brain. We review the recent progresses in the paracrine and endocrine functions of the secretory proteins of osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts, revealing connections of the skeleton with other tissues and providing added insights into the pathogenesis of degenerative diseases affecting multiple organs and the drug discovery process.展开更多

Subjects’ information, including demographics, medical history, and use of medications were recorded. Their serum samples were collected for measuring the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP), serum lipid and glycosylated hemoglobin. Apelin-13 and VEGF serum levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Kruskal-Wallis test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the differences among these groups. Chi-square test was used to assess categorical variables.Correlations between variables were investigated by Spearman rho correlation test and stepwise regression analysis. All statistical analyses were performed through SPSS 17.0 software.RESULTS: Sex, age, body mass index(BMI), blood pressure, CRP, hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c) have no significantly difference in the three groups. Serum level of apelin-13 was significantly elevated in PDR group as compared with T2 DM group(P =0.041). Differences of VEGF serum concentration in the three groups were statistically significant(P =0.007, P =0.007 and P 【0.001,respectively). Spearman rho correlation test showed that serum apelin-13 was positively correlated with BMI,serum triglycerides, VEGF, but not with age, duration of diabetes, blood pressure, CRP, Hb A1 c and total-cholesterol. Stepwise regression analysis showed that BMI also significantly associated with serum apelin-13(P =0.002), while VEGF and serum triglycerides were irrelevant. CONCLUSION: This study elucidated a positive association of apelin-13 serum level with PDR, but not with VEGF. Apelin-13 may influence the promotion of PDR but unrelated with VEGF.展开更多

In this study, we performed a positive selection analysis of the VP1 genes of capsid proteins from Enterovirus 71 viruses. Our results showed that although most sites were under negative or neutral evolution, four positions of the VP1 genes were under positive selection pressure. This might account for the spread and frequent outbreaks of the viruses and the enhanced neurovirulence. In particular, position 98 might be involved in neutralizing antibodies, modulating the virus-receptor interaction and enhancing the virulence of the viruses. Moreover, both positions 145 and 241 might correlate to determine the receptor specificity. However, these positions did not display much difference in amino acid polymorphism. In addition, no position in the VP1 genes of viruses isolated from China was under positive selection.展开更多

In this study, the microstructure and surface roughness of gold films were investigated for the purpose of developing high-reflectivity mirrors. The deposition process was first optimized. Films were fabricated at different sputtering powers (15, 40, 80, and 120 W) and characterized using grazing incidence X-ray reflectometry, X-ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy. The results showed that all the films were highly textured, having a dominant Au (111) orientation, and the film deposited at 80 W had the lowest surface roughness. Subsequently, post-deposition annealing from 100 to 200℃ in a vacuum was performed on the films deposited at 80 W to investigate the effect of annealing on the microstructure and surface roughness of the films. The grain size, surface roughness, and their relationship were investigated as a function of annealing temperature. AFM and XRD results revealed that at annealing temperatures of 175 ℃ and below, microstructural change of the films was mainly manifested by the elimination of voids. At annealing temperatures higher than 175℃, grain coalescence occurred in addition to the void elimination, causing the surface roughness to increase.展开更多

After MDCK cell culture, 57 Influenza A Pandemic (H1N1) viruses were isolated and submitted for whole genome sequencing. A total of 39 HA sequences, 52 NA sequences, 36 PB2 sequences, 31 PB1 sequences, 40 PA sequences, 48 NP sequences, 51 MP sequences and 36 NS sequences were obtained, including 20 whole genome sequences. Sequence comparison revealed they shared a high degree of homology (96%-99%) with known epidemic strains (A/Califomia/04/2009(H1N1). Phylogenetic analysis showed that although the sequences were highly conserved, they clustered into a small number of groups with only a few distinct strains. Site analysis revealed three substitutions at loop 220 (221-228) of the HA receptor binding site in the 39 HA sequences: A/Hubei/86/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQEA, A/Zhejiang/08/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQER, A/Hubei/75/2009 PKVRDQEG→PKVRDQGG, the A/Hubei/75/2009 was isolated from an acute case, while the other two were from patients with mild symptoms. Other key sites such as 119, 274, 292 and 294 amino acids of NA protein,627 of PB2 protein were conserved. Meanwhile, all the M2 protein sequences possessed the Ser32Asn mutation, suggesting that these viruses were resistant to adamantanes. Comparison of these sequences with other H1N1 viruses collected from the NCBI database provides insight into H1N1 transmission and circulation patterns.展开更多

This often results in the phenomena of identical object with dissimilar spectrum and different objects with similar spectrum. In this paper, an integrated classification method that combines a decision tree with slope data, tasseled cap transformation indices and maximum likelihood classifier is introduced, to find an optimal classification method for thematic mapper imagery of plain and highland terrains. A Landsat 7 ETM+ image acquired over Hangzhou Bay, in eastern China was used to test the method. The results indicate that the performance of the inte- grated classifier is acceptably good in comparison with that of the existing most widely used maximum likelihood classifier. The integrated classifier depends on hypsography (variation in topography) and the characteristics of ground truth objects (plant and soil). It can greatly reduce the influence of the homogeneous spectrum caused by topographic variation. This integrated classifier might potentially be one of the most accurate classifiers and valuable tool for land cover and land use mapping of plain and highland terrains.展开更多

Results showed that, although most positions in HAs were under neutral or purifying evolution, a few positions located in the antigenic regions and receptor binding sites were subject to positive selection and some of them were even positively selected at the population level. In addition, there were always some positions differentially selected for viruses from different hosts. Both selection pressure working on HA codons and positions differentially selected might account for the extension of the host range and adaptations to different hosts of H9N2 influenza viruses.展开更多

The magnetization inc...In this work we report that after single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) are sheared with a pair of titanium scissors, the magnetization becomes larger than that of the corresponding pristine ones. The magnetization increases proportionally with the number of SWNTs with sheared ends, suggesting that there exist magnetic moments at the sheared ends of SWNTs.By using the coefficient of this linear relation, the average magnetic moment is estimated to be 41.5 ± 9.8 μB(Bohr magneton) per carbon atom in the edge state at temperature of 300.0 K, suggesting that ultrahigh magnetic fields can be produced. The dangling sigma and pi bonds of the carbon atoms at sheared ends play important roles in determining the unexpectedly high magnetic moments, which may have great potential applications.展开更多

We review the recent progresses in the paracrine and endocrine functions of the secretory proteins of osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts, revealing connections of the skeleton with other tissues and providing added insights into the pathogenesis of degenerative diseases affecting multiple organs and the drug discovery process.

文摘AIM: To compare apelin-13, a ligand of G-proteincoupled receptor which has been shown to be involved in retinal angiogenesis, and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) serum levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) with or without retinopathy, and to investigate the relationship between the serum concentration of apelin-13 and diabetes retinopathy.METHODS: Sixty-nine patients with T2 DM were enrolled.Of the 69 patients, 16 had proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR group), 23 had non-PDR(NPDR group)and 30 had no retinopathy(T2DM group). Apelin-13 may influence the promotion of PDR but unrelated with VEGF.

文摘Human enterovirus 71 viruses have been long circulating throughout the world. In addition, no position in the VP1 genes of viruses isolated from China was under positive selection.

文摘Chondrocyte differentiation is a critical process for endochondral ossification, which is responsible for long bone development and fracture repair.Considerable progress has been made in understanding the transcriptional control of chondrocyte differentiation;however, epigenetic regulation of chondrocyte differentiation remains to be further studied.NSD1 is a H3K36(histone H3 at lysine 36)methyltransferase.Here,we showed that mice with Nsd1 deficiency in Prx1+mesenchymal progenitors but not in Col2+chondrocytes showed impaired skeletal growth and fracture healing accompanied by decreased chondrogenic differentiation.Via combined RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing(ChIP-seq)analysis,we identified sex determining region Y box 9(Sox9),the key transcription factor of chondrogenic differentiation,as a functional target gene of NSD1.Mechanistically,NSD1 regulates Sox9 expression by modulating H3K36me1 and H3K36me2 levels in the Sox9 promoter region, constituting a novel epigenetic regulatory mechanism of chondrogenesis. Moreover,we found that NSD1 can directly activate the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF1α),which plays a vital role in chondrogenic differentiation through its regulation of Sox9 expression.Collectively, the results of our study reveal crucial roles of NSD1 in regulating chondrogenic differentiation, skeletal growth, and fracture repair and expand our understanding of the function of epigenetic regulation in chondrogenesis and skeletal biology.

文摘Gold films deposited by direct current magnetron sputtering are used for synchrotron radiation optics. At annealing temperatures higher than 175℃, grain coalescence occurred in addition to the void elimination, causing the surface roughness to increase.

文摘A total of 100 H1N1 flu real-time-PCR positive throat swabs collected from fever patients in Zhejiang, Hubei and Guangdong between June and November 2009, were provided by local CDC laboratories. Comparison of these sequences with other H1N1 viruses collected from the NCBI database provides insight into H1N1 transmission and circulation patterns.

文摘Thermo-elastic analysis of simply-supported orthotropic laminated beams subjected to high temperature and mechanical load is presented on the basis of the exact two-dimensional thermoelasticity theory. The beam is composed of several orthotropic layers, each with temperaturedependent material properties. The governing equation for each layer is analytically solved using the state space method. The displacement and stress solutions of the beam are obtained using the transfer-matrix method.A numerical example is included to study the effects of temperature on the mechanical responses of a sandwich beam. The results reveal two main effects of temperature:(i)inducing deformations and stresses by itself;(ii)affecting the deformations and stresses induced by the mechanical load.
文摘The classification of thematic mapper imagery in areas with strong topographic variations has proven problematic in the past using a single classifier, due to the changing sun illumination geometry. This integrated classifier might potentially be one of the most accurate classifiers and valuable tool for land cover and land use mapping of plain and highland terrains.

文摘Carbon-based materials have become a research hotspot in the field of energy storage devices in recent years due to their abundant resources, low cost, and environmental friendliness. However, the low capacity and poor high rate performance still constitute great challenges.Metal organic framework-derived carbon has been widely researched because of its high porosity, tunable structure, and good conductivity. In this work,N/S codoped hierarchical porous carbon microspheres were prepared by a high-temperature heat treatment and atomic doping process using a zinc-based organic framework as the precursor. When used as a potassium-ion battery anode,it has a high reversible specific capacity(435.7 mAh g^(-1)),good rate performance(133.5 mAh g^(-1)at 10,000 m A g^(-1)),and long-term cycling stability(73.2%capacity retention after the 2500th cycle). The potassium storage mechanism of the derived carbon was explained by various electrochemical analysis methods and microstructure characterization techniques, and the relationship between the structural characteristics and electrochemical properties was researched. In a supercapacitor, the porous carbon material exhibits a specific capacitance of 307.2 F g^(-1)at a current density of 0.2 A g^(-1)in a KOH aqueous solution and achieves a retention rate of 99.88%after 10,000 cycles. The assembled symmetric supercapacitor device delivers a high energy density of 6.69 Wh kg^(-1),with a corresponding power density of 2500 W kg^(-1).In addition, density functional theory calculations further confirmed that N/S codoping can improve the adsorption capacities of potassium and hydroxyl ions in the derived carbon.
文摘Positive selection and differential selective pressure analyses were carried out to study Haemagglutinin (HA) genes of H9N2 influenza viruses from different hosts in this paper. Results showed that, although most positions in HAs were under neutral or purifying evolution, a few positions located in the antigenic regions and receptor binding sites were subject to positive selection and some of them were even positively selected at the population level. In addition, there were always some positions differentially selected for viruses from different hosts. Both selection pressure working on HA codons and positions differentially selected might account for the extension of the host range and adaptations to different hosts of H9N2 influenza viruses.

文摘In this work we report that after single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) are sheared with a pair of titanium scissors, the magnetization becomes larger than that of the corresponding pristine ones. The dangling sigma and pi bonds of the carbon atoms at sheared ends play important roles in determining the unexpectedly high magnetic moments, which may have great potential applications.

文摘A nonlinear vibration isolation system is promising to provide a high-efficient broadband isolation performance. In this paper,a generalized vibration isolation system is established with nonlinear stiffness, nonlinear viscous damping, and Bouc-Wen(BW)hysteretic damping. An approximate analytical analysis is performed based on a harmonic balance method(HBM)and an alternating frequency/time(AFT)domain technique. To evaluate the damping effect,a generalized equivalent damping ratio is defined with the stiffness-varying characteristics.A comprehensive comparison of different kinds of damping is made through numerical simulations. It is found that the damping ratio of the linear damping is related to the stiffness-varying characteristics while the damping ratios of two kinds of nonlinear damping are related to the responding amplitudes. The linear damping, hysteretic damping, and nonlinear viscous damping are suitable for the small-amplitude,medium-amplitude,and large-amplitude conditions, respectively. The hysteretic damping has an extra advantage of broadband isolation.

文摘We report on a ground X-ray calibration of two X-ray telescope prototypes at the PANTER X-ray Test Facility, operated by the Max-Planck-Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, in Neuried, Germany. The X-ray telescope prototypes were developed by the Institute of Precision Optical Engineering(IPOE)of Tongji University, in a conical Wolter-I configuration, using thermal glass slumping technology.Prototype #1 with three layers and Prototype #2 with 21 layers were tested to assess the prototypes’ onaxis imaging performance. The measurement of Prototype #1 indicates a Half Power Diameter(HPD) of 82′′ at 1.49 keV. As for Prototype #2, we performed more comprehensive measurements of on-axis angular resolution and effective area at several energies ranging from 0.5–10 keV. The HPD and effective area are111′′ and 39 cm^2 at 1.49 keV, respectively, at which energy the on-axis performance of the prototypes is our greatest concern.
文摘Phylogenetic methods have been widely used to detect the evolution of influenza viruses. However, previous phylogenetic studies of influenza viruses do not make full use of the genetic information at the protein level and therefore cannot distinguish the subtle differences among viral genes.Proteotyping is a new approach to study influenza virus evolution. It aimed at mining the potential genetic information of the viral gene at the protein level by visualizing unique amino acid signatures(proteotypes).Neuraminidase gene fragments of some H5N1 avian influenza viruses were used as an example to illustrate how the proteotyping method worked.Bayesian analysis confirmed that the NA gene tree was mainly divided into three lineages. The NA proteotype analysis further suggested there might be multiple proteotypes within these three lineages and even within single genotypes. At the same time, some proteotypes might even involve more than one genotype. In particular,it also discovered some amino acids of viruses of some genotypes might co-reassort.All these results proved this approach could provide additional information in contrast to results from standard phylogenetic tree analysis.
