Xiarihamu deposit is the only super-large Ni-Co deposit found in East Kunlun orogenic belt(EKOB)until present.Shitoukengde(STKD)intrusion is considered to have the potential to become a large Ni-Co deposit in East Kunlun. In order to discuss the metallogenic potential, this study present petrographical, geochemical data, and zircon U-Pb dating for the STKD intrusion. The STKD intrusion is hosted within mafic-ultramafic rocks which contain peridotite, pyroxenite and gabbro, and mainly intruded into the marble of the Paleoproterozoic Jinshuikou Group.Harzburgite and orthopyroxenite are the main country rocks for the Cu-Ni sulfide mineralization.Combine with the positiveε_(Hf)(t)values(+1.1 to+8.6)of zircons, the enrichment of LILEs,depletion of HFSEs,and lower Ce/Pb ratios of whole rocks indicate that the parental magma was originated from the depleted asthenospheric mantle and experienced 5%–15%crustal contamination.Troctolite formed during the Early Devonian and it has weighted mean^(206)Pb/^(238)U age of 412 Ma.Regional background information has indicated that the post-collisional extension setting has already existed during the Early Devonian, leading to the formation of STKD intrusion and Cu-Ni sulfide mineralization.STKD intrusion may have the potential to be one economic Cu-Ni sulfide deposit but seems unlikely to be a super-large one. 展开更多

The Truong Son Fold Belt, located at the northeastern margin of the Indochina Block,is considered to be tectonically linked to the subduction of the Paleotethys Ocean and subsequent collision.Sepon is one of the most important super large deposits of the Truong Son Fold Belt. Our LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating results show that granodiorite porphyry samples from the Sepon deposit have ages of 302.1-4-2.9 Ma, which is a crucial phase for magmatic-tectonical activities from the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian and has avital influence on the mineralization of copper and gold.Zircon from granodiorite porphyry yields εHf (t)values of 4.32 to 9.64,and TDM2 has an average age of 914 Ma,suggesting that the source of the granodiorite porphyry in the region were mainly mantle components but underwent mixing and contamination of crust materials. The Ce^4+/Ce^3+ value of zircon in the granodiorite porphyry varys greatly from 2.4 to 1438.29,which shows magma mixing might occur.Considering the characteristics of trace elements in the zircon and the whole rock geochemical characteristics of intrusion rocks as well as the characteristics of regional volcanic-sedimentary association,it is indicated that the tectonic setting may be the continental arc environment. The Sepon Au-Cu deposit is derived from emplacement of calc-alkaline intermediate-acid magma with coming from deep sources in the subduction process of the Paleotethys Ocean, forming porphyry Mo-Cu,skam Cu-Au mineralization and a hydrothermal sedimentary-hosted Au mineralization in the wall rocks. 展开更多

The Narooma-Batemans Bay(NBB)area along the southeast coast of Australia is a part of the eastern zone of the Early Paleozoic Lachlan Orogen. In the NBB,a set of rock association consisting of turbidites, siliceous rock, basic lava, and argillaceous melange zone is mainly developed.According to systematic field geological survey, the deformation of 3 stages(D1,D2,and D3)was identified in the NBB.At stage D1,with the original bedding S0 in a nearly east-west trending as the deformation plane, tight folds, isoclinal folds, and other structures formed in the NBB accompanied by structural transposition. As a result, crenulation cleavage developed along the axial plane of the folds and schistosity S1 formed. At stage D2,with north-south-trending schistosity S1 as the deformation plane,a large number of asymmetrical folds and rotated porphyroclasts formed owing to thrusting and shear. At stage D3,leftlateral strike-slip occurred along the main north-south-trending schistosity.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of tectonic deformation in the NBB and summary of previous research results,it is determined that the early-stage(D1)deformation is related to Ordovician Macquarie arc-continent collision and the deformation at stages D2 and D3 is the result of the westward subduction of Paleo-Pacific Plate. That is,it is not the continuous westward subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate that constitutes the evolution model of the NBB as previously considered. 展开更多
