Titanium monocarbide(TiC),which is the most stable titanium-based carbide,has attracted considerable interest in the fields of energy,catalysis,and structural materials due to its excellent properties.Synthesis of high-quality TiC powders with low cost and high efficiency is crucial for industrial applications;however major challenges face its realization.Herein,the methods for synthesizing TiC powders based on a reaction system are reviewed.This analysis is focused on the underlying mechanisms by which synthesis methods affect the quality of powders.Notably,strategies for improving the synthesis of highquality powders are analyzed from the perspective of enhancing heat and mass transfer processes.Furthermore,the critical issues,challenges,and development trends of the synthesis technology and application of high-quality TiC powder are discussed. 展开更多

This paper presents the first-ever investigation of Menger fractal cubes'quasi-static compression and impact behaviour.Menger cubes with different void ratios were 3D printed using polylactic acid(PLA)with dimensions of 40 mm×40 mm×40 mm.Three different orders of Menger cubes with different void ratios were considered,namely M1 with a void ratio of 0.26,M2 with a void ratio of 0.45,and M3with a void ratio of 0.60.Quasi-static Compression tests were conducted using a universal testing machine,while the drop hammer was used to observe the behaviour under impact loading.The fracture mechanism,energy efficiency and force-time histories were studied.With the structured nature of the void formation and predictability of the failure modes,the Menger geometry showed some promise compared to other alternatives,such as foams and honeycombs.With the increasing void ratio,the Menger geometries show force-displacement behaviour similar to hyper-elastic materials such as rubber and polymers.The third-order Menger cubes showed the highest energy absorption efficiency compared to the other two geometries in this study.The findings of the present work reveal the possibility of using additively manufactured Menger geometries as an energy-efficient system capable of reducing the transmitting force in applications such as crash barriers. 展开更多

Sandwich structures with tapered tubes as core:A quasi-static investigation

In this article,the experimental and finite element analysis is utilized to investigate the quasi-static compression features of sandwich constructions built with tapered tubes.3D printing technology was utilized to create the hollow centers of the tapering tubes,with and without corrugations.The results demonstrate that the energy absorption(EA)and specific energy absorption(SEA)of the single corrugated tapered tube sandwich are 51.6% and 19.8% higher,respectively,than those of the conical tube sandwich.Furthermore,the results demonstrate that energy absorbers can benefit from corrugation in order to increase their efficiency.Additionally,the tapered corrugated tubes'resistance to oblique impacts was studied.Compared to a straight tube,the tapered tube is more resistant to oblique loads and has a lower initial peak crushing force(PCF),according to numerical simulations.After conducting a parametric study,it was discovered that the energy absorption performance of the sandwich construction is significantly affected by the amplitude,number of corrugations,and wall thickness.EA and SEA of DTS with corrugation number of 8 increased by 17.4%and 29.6%,respectively,while PCF decreased by 9.2% compared to DTS with corrugation number of 10. 展开更多

A series of adsorbent materials(WPU-HAx-y)with a three-dimensional porous structure,green sustainability,and excellent performance were prepared and evaluated for the removal of methylene blue using nontoxic and environmentally friendly waterborne polyurethane as the matrix material and humic acid,a biomass material,as the functional material.The newly synthesized adsorbents were characterized by infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,specific surface area,and thermogravimetric.The effects of contact time(0-8 h),starting concentration(10-100 mg·L^(-1)),pH(3-11),solution temperature(30-60℃),and coexisting ions(Ca2+,Na+,K+,Mg2+)on the performance were investigated.Pseudo-first-order,pseudo-second-order,elovich,and intra-particle diffusion models were used to analyze the adsorption kinetics;the Langmuir,Freundlich,Temkin,and Dubin-Radushkovich adsorption isotherms were evaluated;and the adsorption behavior of the adsorbent materials was found to be more appropriate for the pseudo-second-order model for chemical pollutant removal than the Langmuir model,which depends on monolayer adsorption.WPU-HA2-3 stood out with a maximum adsorption capacity of 813.0081 mg·g^(-1) fitted to the pseudo-second-order and 309.2832 mg·g^(-1) fitted to the Langmuir model,showing superior adsorption performance and regenerability. 展开更多

目的 制备卟啉基共价有机框架(COFs)纳米载体;探究纳米载体光动力抗肿瘤性质。方法 采用溶剂热法合成COFs,通过调控反应体系中催化剂用量、反应温度和反应时间,优化合成条件,进而调控COFs尺寸;对优化后的COFs纳米粒子进行表征,确定其结... 目的 制备卟啉基共价有机框架(COFs)纳米载体;探究纳米载体光动力抗肿瘤性质。方法 采用溶剂热法合成COFs,通过调控反应体系中催化剂用量、反应温度和反应时间,优化合成条件,进而调控COFs尺寸;对优化后的COFs纳米粒子进行表征,确定其结构。对所合成的纳米颗粒进行细胞相容性和光动力性能等性质研究。结果 所制备纳米粒子对细胞具有良好的生物相容性,且在655 nm的激光照射下,对癌细胞杀伤作用明显。在催化剂0.25 mL、反应温度为120℃、时间为48 h的条件下,获得的COFs形貌更均一、粒径最小且具有优秀的细胞相容性和光动力抗肿瘤性质。结论 通过调控制备条件成功获得COFs纳米粒子,通过MTT实验与光动力性能实验发现该纳米粒子具有良好的抗肿瘤性质。 展开更多

以单分散聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯微球为模板剂,用溶胶-凝胶法分别制备了三维有序大孔3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(0.7)M_(0.3)O_(3+δ)(M=Cu、Co和Fe)钙钛矿氧化物,并用XRD、TEM、SEM、XPS和H2-TPR等对3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(x)Co_(1-x)O_(3+δ)的晶体结构、... 以单分散聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯微球为模板剂,用溶胶-凝胶法分别制备了三维有序大孔3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(0.7)M_(0.3)O_(3+δ)(M=Cu、Co和Fe)钙钛矿氧化物,并用XRD、TEM、SEM、XPS和H2-TPR等对3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(x)Co_(1-x)O_(3+δ)的晶体结构、形貌、元素价态和比表面积等性能进行了表征。研究结果表明:3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(0.7)M_(0.3)O_(3+δ)均能形成钙钛矿结构,金属离子M掺杂引起M/NiO_(6)八面体的变形和Ni的混合价态改变,导致晶体结构发生畸变;钙钛矿结构中氧空位的形成与B位金属离子的掺杂种类有关,Co离子的掺杂促进了B位金属还原性能,同时影响金属中心的形成;有序的三维孔结构有效降低了传质阻力,提高脱氧反应活性和选择性;苯酚的加氢脱氧反应以直接脱氧反应为主,同时发生部分异构化和加氢反应。在常压、350℃条件下3DOM La_(0.9)Ni_(0.7)Co_(0.3)O_(3+δ)催化剂的单程转化率为29.79%,苯的选择性为91.00%。 展开更多

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),a family of highly porous materials possessing huge surface areas and feasible chemical tunability,are emerging as critical functional materials to solve the growing challenges associated with energy-water systems,such as water scarcity issues.In this contribution,the roles of MOFs are highlighted in electrochemical-based water applications(i.e.,reactions,sensing,and separations),where MOF-based functional materials exhibit outstanding performances in detecting/removing pollutants,recovering resources,and harvesting energies from different water sources.Compared with the pristine MOFs,the efficiency and/or selectivity can be further enhanced via rational structural modulation of MOFs(e.g.,partial metal substitution)or integration of MOFs with other functional materials(e.g.,metal clusters and reduced graphene oxide).Several key factors/properties that affect the performances of MOF-based materials are also reviewed,including electronic structures,nanoconfined effects,stability,conductivity,and atomic structures.The advancement in the fundamental understanding of these key factors is expected to shed light on the functioning mechanisms of MOFs(e.g.,charge transfer pathways and guest-host interactions),which will subsequently accelerate the integration of precisely designed MOFs into electrochemical architectures to achieve highly effective water remediation with optimized selectivity and long-term stability. 展开更多

In order to pursue good crushing load uniformity and enchance energy absorption efficiency of conventional honeycombs, a kind of bio-inspired hierarchical honeycomb model is proposed by mimicking the arched crab shell structures. Three bio-inspired hierarchical honeycombs(BHHs) with different topologies are designed by replacing each vertex of square honeycombs with smaller arc-shaped structures. The effects of hierarchical topologies and multi-material layout on in-plane dynamic crushings and absorbed-energy capacities of the BHHs are explored based on the explicit finite element(FE) analysis.Different deformation modes can be observed from the BHHs, which mainly depend upon hierarchical topologies and impact velocities. According to energy efficiency method and one-dimensional(1D) shock theory, calculation formulas of densification strains and plateau stresses for the BHHs are derived to characterize the dynamic bearing capacity, which is consistent well with FE results. Compared with conventional honeycombs, the crushing load efficiency and energy absorption capacity of the BHHs can be improved by changing the proper hierarchical topology and multi-material layout. These researches will provide theoretical guidance for innovative design and dynamic response performance controllability of honeycombs. 展开更多

Although zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)have bright prospects in wide fields like gas storage/separation,catalysis and medicine,etc.,their large-scale applications are bottlenecked by the absence of their low-cost commercial production technique.Here,we report an uncon ventional method suitable for environmentally friendly and low-cost mass-production of ZIFs.In this method,taking the synthesis of ZIF-8 as an example,ZnO was used instead of Zn(NO_(3))_(2) in traditional solvent synthesis methods and CO_(2) was introduced to dissolve ZnO in aqueous solution of 2-methylimidazole(HMeim)and form water soluble salt([ZnMeim]^(+)[MeimCOO]^(-))at room temperature.Then,by removing CO_(2) through heating or vacuuming,Meim-ions are produced and instantaneously assemble with[ZnMeim]^(+)s to generate ZIF-8 without any by product.Due to the absence of strong acid anions(such as NO^(-)_(3) and Cl^(-) et al.)in solution,the washing of filter cake required in the conventional approaches could be omitted and the filtrate containing only water and HMeim could be reused completely.This method is really green as no waste gas or liquid generates because CO_(2) and water could be recycled perfectly.It overcomes almost all bottlenecks occurred in commercial production of ZIF-8 when using traditional methods.A pilot plant was established for mass-production of ZIF-8 and hundreds kilograms of ZIF-8 was produced,which indicates that the new method is not only environmentally friendly but also low cost and commercial accessibility.It is expected that the new method would open an avenue for commercial applications of ZIFs. 展开更多
