The aim was to evaluate the transversal competences developed by graduates, specialists in nursing with the accompaniment of clinic tutorship. Methods: Qualitative, phenomenological, and interpretative research. The informants were seven graduates from the Unique Program of Nursing Specialties (UPNS), from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), one participant from each knowledge field: Nursing in the Elderly, Public Health, Neurology, Physical and Sports Culture, Oncology, and two participants from Adult in Critical Condition. Information collection was through a focal group, and data analysis according to the principles of Souza Minayo. Signed informed consent was obtained previously. Results: Five categories with 24 sub-categories emerged. Category 1, Student’s perception on clinic tutorship specialty. Category 2, Competences promoted by clinic tutorship according to student’s experience. Category 3, Experiences about clinic tutorship planning. Category 4, Challenges faced by the student in the evaluation of clinic tutorship. Category 5, Opportunity fields in clinic tutorship from students’ experiences. Conclusion: Graduate students from the specialties describe transversal competences related with decision taking, collaborative work, and increase of population welfare, as well as generic disciplinary competences. The analogy of a social hinge between the clinic tutor and the student is highlighted, which allows to identify mobile and fixed components while the bolt that binds mentor with mentee is learning, by means of the accompaniment by an expert. .展开更多

Three patterns emerged during the constructivist inquiry: readiness to reflect, valuing of clinical supervision, and sustainability of the clinical supervision model. The researchers suggest generational sensitivity as a key perspective to consider when developing engaging workplace strategies for millennial nurses. The article offers recommendations for the implementation of clinical supervision and would be of interest to nurse leaders in a clinical setting.展开更多

Alteration of the training objectives and training curricula,.as well as the clinical department training plans,.will allow POCs to obtain a systematic and standardized education to establish their general attitude toward medical life and career plans. This will help to improve their clinical skills and establish professional ethics that will protect the interests of patients and promote the healthy and harmonious development of the Eye Hospital. Furthermore, the Ophthalmology Center could cultivate a number of outstanding postgraduate students that match its tier, to describe the quality of the training for the master's degree in Ophthalmology.展开更多

Methods: All 28 MNS 2020th graduate students in a university were selected as subjects by convenient sampling method, using the improved 4-station objective structured examination (Objective Structured Clinical Examination, OSCE) model. The assessment content included nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, basic nursing operation, specialist nursing operation, theoretical written test and oral test and overall evaluation. And self-made questionnaire was used to evaluate the effect of the assessment model and the improvement of clinical practice ability of graduate students. Results: The overall satisfaction rate of graduation assessment was 89.51%, the overall satisfaction rate of graduation assessment mode and practical ability improvement evaluation was 84.66%, the pass rate of assessment results was 100%, and the excellent rate was 71.42%. Conclusion: The MNS graduation practical ability assessment model has a high degree of satisfaction, objectively evaluates the knowledge, skills, attitudes and emotions of graduate students, promotes the comprehensive quality and ability of graduate students, which is worthy of promotion.展开更多

Background: There is evidence RN’s do not consider NGRN’s as adequately prepared for practice. However, there does not appear to be consensus on what characterizes work-readiness. Methods: An adapted online questionnaire was sent to RNs in a range of clinical settings. They rated NGRNs’ skills and the applicability of those skills to their clinical setting using a 5-point Likert scale. Results: Perceptions of transferability of skills across settings varied. In the skills grouping of routine assessment, basic clinical skills, advanced clinical skills the percentage rated as “not applicable” was over 40% in 75% of the skills. The low or zero non-applicable responses to communication skills indicate this skill group contains transferable skills regardless of the setting. The zero non-applicable responses for preparedness for practice for all but two skills indicate these groups contain transferable skills across settings. Conclusion: There appears to be some alignment between expectations from RNs and current NGRN preparation. The lack of transferability of more advanced technical skills raises questions about the role of education in preparing the NGRN versus that of industry-based graduate programmes. The increase in nursing roles and the increased emphasis on aged care and primary health care dictates that generalist preparation of NGRNs emphasising the attributes of an RN should be the focus rather competency in advanced technical skills.展开更多
