Results show that: 1) from the perspective of spatial patterns of landforms at a macro scale, there is a significant difference in land use intensity between the north and the south of China′s coastal zone. Hotspots of changes mainly concentrated in metropolitan areas, estuaries and coastal wetlands; 2) elevation is an important factor that controlling land use spatial patterns at local scale. Land use intensity is much higher within areas below the elevation of 400 m and it decreased significantly as the elevation increasing; 3) there is a significant land-ocean gradient for land use intensity, which is low in island and near-shore areas, but high in the regions that 4–30 km far away the coastline because of much intensive human activities; however, in recent decades land use intensity had been promoted significantly in low near-shore area due to extensive sea reclamations; 4) significant differences of land use intensity were also found among provincial administrative units. A rising trend of land use intensity was found in provincial-level administrative units from 2000 to 2010. To sum up, elevation, land-ocean gradient, socio-economic status and policy are all influencing factors to the spatial patterns and temporal variations of land use intensity in China′s coastal zone.展开更多

Both area-distributed and linearly distributed GCPs were used to rectify a Landsat TM image of a coastal zone. Rectification accuracy was checked against 99 independent points over the intertidal mudflats with no ground control. Results indicate that the root-mean-square error of residuals over these areas is several times larger than its GCPs-measured counterpart. If the GCPs are spatially dispersed over an area, residuals fluctuate but increase steadily with distance to the source of control in easting (R^2= 0. 827). in northing they fluctuate around 150 m until 15 km, beyond which they rise steadily at a small range of fluctuation. These residuals are less predictable from distance to the source of control than in easting (R^2= 0.517 ). If the GCPs are distributed along a control line, residuals rise with distance to it linearly and predictably (R^2 = 0. 877) in the direction perpendicular to it. In a direction parallel to it, the distance has little impact on rectification residuals.展开更多

A management plan is required to minimize the environmental destruction resulting from the complexity of the property in coastal areas, of human activities and of natural systems and to utilize the coastal resources effectively. The utilization of coasts, besides becoming very important particularly in views of tourism, has faced pressures caused by huge. These areas are mostly self-contradictory demands for the environmental protection. The project is an EU Life Long Learning Programme Project and the project duration is 24 months. The aim of the CoastLearn in Black Sea (CLBS) is to mobilize the human resources in the tourism and coastal management sector in Black Sea in general and notably Sinop, Varna and Constanta by raising awareness among the local decision making mechanisms of the integrated coastal zone management in order to encourage people to utilize the coastal resources in a coherent and balanced way.展开更多

However, the traditional pixel-based image analysis methods cannot meet the needs of this development trend. The paper attempts to present an information extraction approach in terms of image segmentation based on an object-oriented algorithm for high-resolution remote sensing images. An aim of the author’ research is to establish an identification system of "pixel-primitive-object". Through extraction and combination of micro-scale coastal zone features, some objects are classified or recognized, e.g., tidal flat, water line, sea wall, and mariculture pond. Firstly, the authors extract various internal features of relatively homogeneous primitive objects using an image segmentation algorithm based on both spectral and shape information. Secondly, the features of those primitives are analyzed to ascertain an optimal object by adopting certain feature rules. The results from this research indicate that our model is practical to realize and the extraction accuracy of the coastal information is significantly improved as compared with the traditional approaches. Therefore, this study provides a potential way to serve the author’ highly dynamic coastal zones for monitoring, management, development and utilization.展开更多

Overall, 22 OCPs were detected with total concentrations of OCPs ranging widely from 0.96 to 12.14 ng/g (dry wt). Total hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) and total dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) levels varied from 〈0.01 to 0.67 ng/g and from 0.23 to 4.85 ng/g, respectively. DDTs were the predominant compounds. The dominance of β-HCH indicated a history of HCH pollution. According to the ratios of (p,p'-DDD+p,p'-DDE)/p,p'DDT and o,p'-DDT/p,p'- DDT, new input of DDTs did not occur in most sites, and the main sources were historical usage of technical DDTs. OCPs such as dieldrin, endrin, p,p'-DDD, and p,p'-DDT exceeded the effects range low, showing adverse biological effects that would occasionally occur at some sites of the study area.展开更多

文摘Based on remote sensing and GIS techniques, land use maps in 2000, 2005 and 2010 in China′s coastal zone were produced, and structural raster data of land use were further generated to calculate land use intensity comprehensive index(LUICI) for analyzing land use spatial-temporal characteristics at 1 km scale. To sum up, elevation, land-ocean gradient, socio-economic status and policy are all influencing factors to the spatial patterns and temporal variations of land use intensity in China′s coastal zone.

To facilitate the development and protection of marine resources, taking coastal zone as research object, via collection and review of literatures, we firstly analyzed status quo of integrated coastal zone management in China and the problems in coastal zone management process, such as environmental pollution, ecosystem destruction and the occurrence of natural disaster, then illustrated the reasons for these problems, such as institutional, policy and legal deficiencies on coastal zone issue, and finally discussed the countermeasures enhancing coastal zone management by referring to construction experience of ecological civilization demonstration area under the background of ecological civilization construction, to promote ecological civilization construction in China and realize "maritime power country".
文摘The importance attached to the need for sustainable development in the coastal areas is increasing. The aim of the CoastLearn in Black Sea (CLBS) is to mobilize the human resources in the tourism and coastal management sector in Black Sea in general and notably Sinop, Varna and Constanta by raising awareness among the local decision making mechanisms of the integrated coastal zone management in order to encourage people to utilize the coastal resources in a coherent and balanced way.

文摘Due to the need of rapid and sustainable development in China’s coastal zones, the high-resolution information theory using data mining technology becomes an urgent research focus. Therefore, this study provides a potential way to serve the author’ highly dynamic coastal zones for monitoring, management, development and utilization.

文摘The coastal zone and offshore are clearly of major economic and social importance, in thesame time it causes a series of problems of resources and ecosystem too. The research on and development of integrated application techniques for remote sensing provide not only a microcosmic and dynamic and synchronous technical means to the monitor, but also an integrated technical scheme to harmonically solve the ecological environment problem. The system is designed to focus on the application techniques of multi-sources remote sensing data. By developing remote sensing information extraction module, integrated user platform, and application module objected to the real ocean procedure for China' s coastal zone and offshore, the information system consists of the management of prodigious amount of data, display, analysis, simulation and output will be constructed and implemented. The final objective is to transform the research on ocean remote sensing into application.
文摘This paper concerns two important environmental problems in China's coastal zone, i.e.,Sea Level Rise (SLR) and Groundwater Table Decline, as the response to climatic chanes/globalwarming due to greenhouse effect. on the basis of possible twacts of these two problems on theregional natural, environmental and social systems, some response strategies were advised.

文摘Sixteen surface sediment samples were collected and analysed to evaluate the residues of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) from intertidal fiat in Jiangsu Province. OCPs such as dieldrin, endrin, p,p'-DDD, and p,p'-DDT exceeded the effects range low, showing adverse biological effects that would occasionally occur at some sites of the study area.
文摘Coastal zone, a boundary shared by land and occo and the baseline to understand the earth, has become a very important part of earth system science and for global change study. From the viewpoint of society and economy, the coastal zone is the prosperous forefront for social development Butis also gives rise to a series of abuses, leading to destruction of resources and environment Theseproblems have become serious obstacles restricting the sustainability in thes area. Therefore, we mustemphasize on the study of the coastal zone, not ouly on its land part but also its ocean part. In order torealise sustainable development of coastal zone, multi-disciplinery studies and integration of naturalsciences with social sciences are necessary and more attention shoud be focused on monitoring, andplanning of coastal zone by utilizing GIS (geographical information system), satellite geo-observationsystem, GPS (global position system) and global communication network technologies.
文摘The advantages of the eastern coastal economic zone and its role in the country’s economic construction as well as its relationship with the western zone are discussed.
