AIM: To study the chemical constituents of the roots and stem bark of Kadsura coccinea. METHOD: Compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20, and finally purified by prep-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D- and 2D-NMR, and HR-ESI-MS. RESULTS: Two compounds were determined as(7′S,8′S,8R)-(8β,8′α)- dimethyl-4,4′-dihydroxy-5,3′-dimethoxy-5′-cyclolignan glucoside(1) and micrandiactone H(2), respectively. CONCLUSION: Compunds 1 and 2 are new and neither showed inhibitory effects on nitric oxide(NO) production in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 macrophages. 展开更多

Six new lignans(1-6),as well as five known ones(7-11)were isolated from the leaves and stems of Schisandra chinensis.The structures of 1-6 were established on the basis of spectroscopic methods including 1D-and 2D-NMR techniques and CD experiments.Compound 1 was the first example of naturally occurring N-containing lignans featuring a nicotinoyl group.All the new compounds were evaluated for their anti-HIV-1 activities and showed EC50 values in the range 17.89-138.23μg/mL. 展开更多

In the course of our study of bioactive natural products from Schisandra plants, we isolated a neolignan from an EtOAc extract of the stems of Schisandra propinqua (Wall.) Baill. The structure of the new com- pound was determined to be 4, 4-di (4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenly)-2, 3-dimethylbutanol (compound 1) on the basis of 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra and 2D NMR methods. Eight known compounds, compounds 2-9, were also isolated and identified, of which compounds 3, 4, 6 and 9 were isolated for the first time from this plant. In addition, compounds 1-4 were evaluated for cytotoxicity by an 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2 thiazoyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H- tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Compound 1 showed significant potential cytotoxic ability in the bioassay. 展开更多

Objective: To identify Kadsura interior(Dian Ji Xue Teng, Schisandraceae) by using DNA barcoding.Methods: We analyzed five DNA barcodes(ITS, ITS2, psb A-trn H, mat K and rbc L) using DNA barcoding in terms of distance-based,tree-based and character-based identification to distinguish Kadsura interior and its adulterants.Results: In distance-based and tree-based identification, K. interior could be distinguished easily from the species of Schisandra and K. coccinea.In character-based identification, there are two single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in ITS and one SNP in psb A-trn H which can be used to distinguish K. interior from K. heteroclita and K. longipedunculata.Conclusion: The results indicate that DNA barcoding can be used to identify K. interior. ITS and psb A-trnH sequence can be the most ideal DNA barcode for discriminating K. interior and its adulterants by the combination analysis of distance-based, tree-based and character-based identification(SNPs). 展开更多

Abstract: Schisandra rubriflora Rehd. et Wils. is a traditional Chinese medicine. To search for new and bioactive components from traditional Chinese medicines and provide scientific evidence for taxonomy, the chemical constituents of the plant were investigated by various column chromatography methods (silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and RP-18). From the aerial parts of S. rubriflora, three new megastigmane glycosides, namely (3S, 5R, 6S, 9R)-megastigmane-3, 9-diol 3-O-[α-L-arabionfuranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside] (1), 7-megastigmene-3-ol-9-one 3-O-[α-L-arabionfuranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside] (2), and megastigmane-3α, 4β, 9σ-triol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), along with 14 known compounds, were isolated. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic and chemical methods. 展开更多
