These constructs were verified using Application Softwar...In this paper we study how organizational learning impacts organizational behavior, and how vendor support quality enhances product adoption and usage behavior. These constructs were verified using Application Software Packages (ASP) - a prewritten, precoded, commercially available set of programs that eliminates the need for individuals or organizations to write their own software programs for certain functions. The relationship between ASP usage, usage outcomes and use processes were also investigated. Two hundred and ninety-five Chinese, Indian, and Malay entrepreneurships were studied. It was found that usage outcome strongly determines usage, while use process has only an indirect relationship (via outcome) on usage. The impact of organizational learning and vendor service quality on usage, usage outcome, and use process were robust. Theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed.展开更多

New models presented here have been set up and two-dimensional numerical modeling research on the possibility of continental subduction has been made with the finite element software, ANSYS, based on documentary evidence and reasonable assumptions that the subduction of oceanic crust has occurred, the subduction of continental crust can take place and the process can be simplified to a discontinuous plane strain theory model. The modeling results show that it is completely possible for continental crust to be subducted to a depth of 120 km under certain circumstances and conditions. At the same time, the simulations of continental subduction under a single dynamical factor have also been made, including the pull force of the subducted oceanic lithosphere, the drag force connected with mantle convection and the push force of the mid-ocean ridge. These experiments show that the drag force connected with mantle convection is critical for continent subduction.展开更多

It considers existing tools and models and their applications in various sectors. The advantage is that the statistical data could be combined with geographic views, maps and also additional data derived from the GIS. As a result, a programming system is developed, using GIS for analysis of marketing, statistical, macroeconomic data, and risk assessment in real time and prevention. The system has been successfully implemented as web-based software application designed for use with a variety of hardware platforms (mobile devices, laptops, and desktop computers). The software is mainly written in the programming language Python, which offers a better structure and supports for the development of large applications. Optimization of the analysis, visualization of macroeconomic, and statistical data by region for different business research are achieved. The system is designed with Geographical Information System for settlements in their respective countries and regions. Information system integration with external software packages for statistical calculations and analysis is implemented in order to share data analyzing, processing, and forecasting. Technologies and processes for loading data from different sources and tools for data analysis are developed. The successfully developed system allows implementation of qualitative data analysis.展开更多
BACKGROUND About 25%of the general population in Japan are reported to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).NAFLD and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis carry a risk of progressing further to hepatocellular carcinom...BACKGROUND About 25%of the general population in Japan are reported to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).NAFLD and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis carry a risk of progressing further to hepatocellular carcinoma.The primary treatment for NAFLD is dietary therapy.Dietary counseling plays an essential role in dietary therapy.Although artificial intelligence(AI)-based nutrition management software applications have been developed and put into practical use in recent years,the majority focus on weight loss or muscle strengthening,and no software has been developed for patient use in clinical practice.AIM To examine whether effective dietary counseling is possible using AI-based nutrition management software.METHODS NAFLD patients who had been assessed using an AI-based nutrition management software application(Calomeal)that automatically analyzed images of meals photographed by patients and agreed to receive dietary counseling were given dietary counseling.Blood biochemistry tests were performed before(baseline)and 6 mo after(6M follow-up)dietary counseling.After the dietary counseling,the patients were asked to complete a questionnaire survey.RESULTS A total of 29 patients diagnosed with NAFLD between August 2020 and March 2022 were included.There were significant decreases in liver enzyme and triglyceride levels at the 6M follow-up compared to baseline.The food analysis capability of the AI used by Calomeal in this study was 75.1%.Patient satisfaction with the AIbased dietary counselling was high.CONCLUSION AI-based nutrition management appeared to raise awareness of dietary habits among NAFLD patients.However,it did not directly alleviate the burden of registered dietitians,and improvements are much anticipated.展开更多
Blockchain and the programs running on it,called smart contracts,are increasingly applied in all fields where trust and strong certifications are required.Our work focuses on industrial applications of blockchains and...Blockchain and the programs running on it,called smart contracts,are increasingly applied in all fields where trust and strong certifications are required.Our work focuses on industrial applications of blockchains and not on cryptocurrencies or tokens.We use frameworks to compare public and permissioned blockchains specifically suited for industrial applications.We also propose a complete solution based on Ethereum to implement a decentralized application,putting together in an original way,components and patterns already used and proven.This solution is characterized by a set of validator nodes running the blockchain using Proof-of-Authority or similar efficient consensus algorithms,by the use of an explorer enabling users to check the blockchain state,and the source code of the smart contracts running on it.From time to time,the hash digest of the last mined block is written into a public blockchain to guarantee immutability.The right to send transactions is granted by validator nodes to users by endowing them with the Ethers mined locally.Overall,the proposed approach has the same transparency and immutability as a public blockchain,largely reducing its drawbacks.展开更多

The disparate nature of data for electric power utilities complicates the emergency recovery and response process.The reduced efficiency of response to natural hazards and disasters can extend the time that electrical...The disparate nature of data for electric power utilities complicates the emergency recovery and response process.The reduced efficiency of response to natural hazards and disasters can extend the time that electrical service is not available for critical end-use loads,and in extreme events,leave the public without power for extended periods.This article presents a methodology for the development of a semantic data model for power systems and the integration of electrical grid topology,population,and electric distribution line reliability indices into a unified,cloud-based,serverless framework that supports power system operations in response to extreme events.An iterative and pragmatic approach to working with large and disparate datasets of different formats and types resulted in improved application runtime and efficiency,which is important to consider in real time decision-making processes during hurricanes and similar catastrophic events.This technology was developed initially for Puerto Rico,following extreme hurricane and earthquake events in 2017 and 2020,but is applicable to utilities around the world.Given the highly abstract and modular design approach,this technology is equally applicable to any geographic region and similar natural hazard events.In addition to a review of the requirements,development,and deployment of this framework,technical aspects related to application performance and response time are highlighted.展开更多
