This paper applied the theory and method of non linear dynamic to study the integrated environ economic system( EES ). The results of the numerical computational experiment and theoretical inductions showed that the system behaviour pattern of the EES will be changed with the variation of the force power level. When the force DP become higher, the system loss its stability gradually, until the chaos occurs. Based on these results, this paper presented an explanation for the long wave economic fluctuation, and proposed in order to guarantee the sustainable development of the specific EES, the DP value of the system should be limited within a reasonable range. 展开更多

The robust principal component analysis (RPCA) is a technique of multivariate statistics to assess the social and economic environment quality. This paper aims to explore a RPCA algorithm to analyze the spatial heterogeneity of social and economic environment of land uses (SEELU). RPCA supplies one of the most efficient methods to derive the most important components or factors affecting the regional difference of the social and economic environment. According to the spatial distributions of the levels of SEELU,the total land resources of China were divided into eight zones numbered by Ⅰ to Ⅷ which spatially referred to the eight levels of SEELU. 展开更多

But this is an uneasy job. Since September 11, the world situation has become so complicated that it is hard to grasp its essence even with painstaking efforts. To judge such an already complicated international environment from China’s perspective adds more difficulties, for different people usually have different views due to the different angles from which they see the situation and different methods they adopt. This, understandably, leads to hot debates within the Chinese academic circles. To provide a stage for exchange of views, at the invitation of the CIR Expert Forum, some well-known scholars and experts on international relations from Beijing gathered to hold a symposium on November 5, 2002, with the theme of "How to assess the international environment that China faces". The speeches at the symposium are published in two installments. Following are the second half. 展开更多

Intra-regional trade dynamic can foster economic integration with a contribution of the lead economy. In that way, infrastructure and economic environment play an important role in expanding trade by reducing trade costs. This paper examines the role of infrastructure and the economic environment on Ivory Coast intra-regional trade. The study performs a transformed and advanced gravity model, using panel data over the period 1996 to 2013, modelling exports of Ivory Coast. The analysis shows experts towards the other member states of West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) depend significantly on the availability of transport and communication infrastructures developed as well as variables such as Gross Domestic Product growth, economic similarity within countries, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) net inflows in Ivory Coast. Estimations point out that indeed, the level of economic growth in the other member countries, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) net inflows in Ivory Coast, the number of mobile phone subscribers per 100 inhabitants in Ivory Coast and the proportion of paved roads, have a positive impact on Ivory Coast intra-regional trade. 展开更多

The paper analyzed total factor productivity of Binzhou City, and key factors that influence its economic growth and effluent discharge. The results showed that(i) production efficiency of the city during 2005–2013 kept stable, mean of Malmquist-Luenberger index was 1.044,9 without considering effluent discharge, and the average annual increase rate was 4.49%, and that was 1.020,4 considering effluent discharge, the average annual increase rate was 2.04%, and the increase rate reduced by 2.45%.(ii) GDP growth showed significant negative correlation and positive correlation with capital input and energy input, but insignificant negative correlation and positive correlation with labor force input and technological progress.(iii) Effluent discharge showed insignificant negative correlation and positive correlation with capital input and energy input, but significant negative correlation and positive correlation with labor force input and technological progress. 展开更多

Although Beijing has carried out municipal solid waste (MSW) source separation since 1996, it has largely been ineffective. In 2012, a "Green House" program was established as a new attempt for central sorting. In this study, the authors used material flow analysis (MFA) and cost benefit analysis (CBA) methods to investigate Green House's environment and economic feasibility. Results showed that the program did have significant environmental benefits on waste reduction, which reduced the amount of waste by 34%. If the Green House program is implemented in a residential community with wet waste ratio of 66%, the proportion of waste reduction can reach 37%. However, the Green House is now running with a monthly loss of 1982 CNY. This is mainly because most of its benefits come from waste reduction (i.e., 5878 CNY per month), which does not turn a monetary benefit, but is instead distributed to the whole of society as positive environmental externalities. Lack of government involvement, small program scale, and technical/managerial deficiency are three main barriers of the Green House. We, thus, make three recommendations: involve government authority and financial support, expand the program scale to separate 91.4 tons of waste every month, and use more professional equipment/technologies. If the Green House program can successfully adopt these suggestions, 33.8 tons of waste can be reduced monthly, and it would be able to flip the loss into a profit worth 35034 CNY. 展开更多
