A Coherent Interpretation of Economic Compensation for Divorce:Taking Gender Equality as the Basis

Article 1088 of China's Civil Code grants the right to seek economic compensation in divorce cases.However,significant confusion persists regarding the values,interpretations of doctrine,and legal techniques related to this compensation.Various viewpoints have emerged on the nature of compensation,including notions of household wages,human capital investment,moral obligation,and damages recovery.Concerning compensation standards,there are proposals such as the“humanitarian assistance”theory,“household wages”theory,“expected interest”theory,or“loss of interest”theory.By examining the evolution,legal principles,and practical applications of economic compensation for divorce from a human rights perspective,we aim to establish the legal foundation for this compensation,grounded in principles of gender equality.It clarifies that the compensation essentially confirms and restores individual development opportunities and the right to development in the context of gender inequality.This approach aims to provide a more coherent interpretation of clauses of economic compensation for divorce in terms of legal purposes,legal doctrines,and legal techniques,thus offering a more reasonable perspective to reconcile theoretical and practical discrepancies in economic compensation for divorce.

The Rise of China’s Women’s Basketball Team:An Exploration of Gender Equality in Professional Basketball

This article explores the rise of the Chinese women’s basketball team in professional basketball and its relationship to gender equality issues.In view of the gender differences in salary,market value,social status,and other aspects,the article proposes a series of strategies to promote the realization of gender equality for female basketball players in professional basketball.This article points out that the rise of the Chinese women’s basketball team will lead the process of gender equality and lay the foundation for a more equitable and inclusive future.To achieve this goal,this article highlights the importance of improving the competitive level of female athletes,improving basic education,promoting basketball culture,and promoting gender equality.

Analysis of gender equality in climate governance

Gender equality is a yardstick for measuring the progress of social civilization and an important goal for mankind to achieve sustainable development.The importance of women in the global governance of climate change is self-evident.During the global climate change governance,it is very crucial to focus on achieving gender equality.Under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,which is the main channel of global climate change governance,the gender-specific climate change agenda started later than other topics and the progress is limited.This article summarized the progress,deficiencies and future directions of gender issues under the main channels of global climate governance,analyzed the current status of gender equality in Chinese climate response actions,and pointed out the progress and deficiencies of women in the fundamental scientific research and the participation in global governance and decision-making.Our research finds that in the current process of international climate change governance,gender issues have received adequate attention.While in China,despite the attention paid to gender issues,the practical action on gender equality is still out of the mainstream agenda.In the past few decades,Chinese women have made gratifying progress in basic scientific research on climate change and global climate governance,but there are still great insufficiencies in the field of decision-making.In the future,China needs to pay more attention to emphasize gender equality at the strategic level,and promote the formulation of policies and regulations in the field of gender and climate change.Increasing the proportion of women participating in decision-making and management in the field of climate change and disaster prevention and mitigation is also important.China also needs to focus on enabling a gender friendly environment and strengthening research on gender and climate change,support women's participation in relevant work,strengthen capacity-building,and enhance women's access to resources,funds,knowledge and information related to climate adaptation or mitigation.

Economic Consequences of Gender Equality in Europe

This paper shows influence of gender equality on economy where it analyzed how gender equality in Europe has affected on the development of the frozen food industry and services related to childcare. The development of these industries has given a positive impulse to the development of the whole economy. In this analysis, it is used multiple regressions as one of the most important statistical methods. In the first part of this paper, it shows the connection among the growth of female employment, growth in frozen food expenditure and growth of GDP in United Kingdom. In the second part of paper, it shows the relationship among the growth of labor force participation of women, growth of number of kindergarten and growth of GDP in Hungary. To proof these relationships, it used a multiple regression model. This statistical model was tested by using the T schedule which showed that the model in both the analyses is correct. At the end of the paper, it presents that employment rate and GDP behaves in the same way in European Union. These analyses show that it is necessary to continue to strengthen gender equality if the policy makers want to achieve even greater economic growth. The issue of gender equality is a very important factor in creating employment policy, and statisticians should be more involved in process of employment policy and gender equality

Gender Equality in Northern Province Hospitality Sector in Sri Lanka

The term ＂gender equality＂ describes the equal valuing of the different characters assumed by male and female. At present in Northern part of Sri Lanka, there is huge improvement in the field of hospitality. Nowadays, gender equality is very important in every workforce especially in the hospitality sector. Many countries are accepting the gender equality. After the ethnic war in Northern Province Tamil people without any discrimination, male and female are taking part in the field of hospitality. The main reasons for this change are economical breakdown and the interest of people towards hospitality field. There are more than 10 women staffs working in the hotel industry in the Northern part of Sri Lanka. The hospitality industry helps the women staffs to balance their families. Because Northern Province has many women leadership families. Most of the female workers （Captain of the families） are working as cleaning staff, front office assistance, assistance managers, managers, and training instructors in the Northern Province hotel sector. According to the authors＇ field visit, Northern Province hospitality sectors provide some security service for the female staffs such as hostel arrangements, no night shift works, and high security inside the hotel. The Northern Province hospitality outlet not only hotels but also catering service, self-employments such as sweets delivery for the fimctions and food cooking for the parties, house works are done by both genders because after the war, many families are affected by the economic poverty. According to the authors＇ data collection, more than 200 families are doing the self-employment jobs such as catering service for the parties, food issuing for the university students, sweets issuing for the functions. Female staffs are able to work with the good mentality as they come to the working field. Though there are educated people in Northern part of Sri Lanka, only a few are qualified in this particular field. Nevertheless, at present many Northern Province female students are studying hospitality degree at University College of Jaffna. They come from different districts, mostly from Northern Province. The women hoteliers are not only capable in front office but they are also able to work in human resource department, account department, kitchen department, housekeeping department and security service department. At last, it is noted that hospitality is the key factor in the long-lasting sustainability of the economic system of the Northern part of Sri Lanka. In the future, the Northern part of Sri Lanka hospitality sector will improve a lot without any gender discrimination, because at present, the students are studying hospitality degree for their great future. It is a sustainable activity for the Northern Province hospitality sector without gender discrimination.

The National Program on the Development of Chinese Women （2011-2020）, herein- after referred to as the ＂NewProgram,＂ was published in August 2011. This is an important document designed to ensure implementation of the basic state strategy of gender equal- ity and the all-round development of Chinese women. The New Program is a part of China＇s policy program for the protection of human rights. It sets 57 major targets to be attained over the decade. China Tops List for Executive Gender Equality

China has the world＇s highest proportion of women in se nior management positions, according to a new study thatshows more than 51 percent of top posts are held by femalesa huge jump from the survey＇s previous figure of 25 per cent, and well above the global average of 21 percent. According to the report, by interna tional accounting firm Grant Thornton, women now hold 81 percent of human resources director positions in China, and 61 percent of chief financial officer roles, which its researchers said were roles which particularly require detail control and communications skills. The survey, conducted among 200 businesses in China, also shows that women now take up 21 percent of board director positions, slightly above the global average of 19 percent.

Advancement Towards Spatial Justice:The Barrier-Free Environment Construction from a Gender Perspective

Space is both a product and a producer of social relations.In the spatial domain,gender blindness has long existed,limiting women’s rights of access to and use of space,leading to structural oppression of women’s rights,and giving rise to new gender inequalities.The barrier-free environment construction has the functions of eliminating physical barriers and generating societal norms,and when combined with social changes,can facilitate justice correction across multiple dimensions.However,barrier-free environment construction itself,as a means of justice correction,also suffers from gender blindness.There remains room for improvement in the areas of facility construction,information exchange,and social services within the realm of barrier-free environments.In response to this phenomenon,gender equality offers a new critical perspective.Therefore,integrating a gender perspective into the barrier-free environment construction,focusing on the spatial rights of women,especially groups with multiple vulnerabilities,such as disabled women and elderly women,can contribute to the advancement towards spatial justice.

GENDER EQUALITY IN CHINA'S OVERSEAS INVESTMENT: CASE STUDIES ON CHINESE TEXTILE AND APPAREL ENTERPRISES IN VIETNAM, MYANMAR, AND BANGLADESH

With the progressive implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative,the Chinese textile and apparel sector has extended investments in many Southeast Asian countries,of which Vietnam,Myanmar,and Bangladesh are the most prominent examples.Furthermore,the impacts of Chinese-invested textile and apparel companies on local female workers have become more important and pervasive.This paper uses data accumulated in a survey project conducted in 20 Chinese-invested textile and apparel enterprises to present the on-site situation of gender equality performance in Chinese textile and apparel investment in these three countries.It finds that,despite quick progress and sporadic good practice,Chinese textile and apparel enterprises face challenges in gender equality at both the policy and practice levels.It concludes that gender equality is critical for China's responsible overseas investment and local social development,and Chinese enterprises must go beyond legal compliance in dealing with gender equality.In so doing,they must realize that awareness raising and gender-sensitive management mechanisms must be the core and long-term measures to address gender equality challenges.

Historical Transition of Gender Roles in China

This article delves into the intricate landscape of gender roles within China,employing a historical lens to dissect the evolution of these roles throughout key periods of Chinese societal transformation.The study centres on three pivotal epochs in contemporary China:the pre-liberation era(prior to 1949),the era of socialist construction(1949-1978),and the phase of economic reform(post-1978).Despite the undeniably persistent underpinning of traditional gender roles throughout history,this analysis offers insight into the essence of feminist movements-an ongoing struggle against the subjugation of women.While notable strides have been made in enhancing the status and rights of women in recent decades,it becomes evident that achieving genuine gender equality necessitates a more nuanced approach beyond the mere expansion of educational and occupational opportunities for women.True transformation mandates heightened awareness of gender inequality across all societal domains,catalysing collective participation in social initiatives by both genders.This article underscores the imperative of multifaceted engagement to drive meaningful and lasting shifts in gender dynamics.

Reflections of Gender Morality on the Character Maggie in The Mill on the Floss

As an excellent novelist of Victorian Age, George Eliot is famous for her brilliance and anti traditional thoughts. Eliot's views on morality and rich life experiences are also drawing people's attention. The Mill on the Floss is Eliot's early works,which describes the heroine Maggie's short life experiences. She's brave enough to struggle for the outer strength. And from Maggie's behaviors, we can realize the standard of Eliot's views on morality. George Eliot is a faithful believer in the importance of morality in society. She acted by high moral standards in her own life and developed her moral ideas in her books.Eliot's moral ideas will be of great help in studying Eliot's works.

Gender Mainstreaming and Human Rights

Gender mainstreaming is a strategy for achieving gender equality that emerged in the United Nations in the 1970s and consists of integrating gender equality issues into all public policies. In the 1990s, the same strategy began to be applied to human rights to draw attention to the fact that the enjoyment of human rights is different for men and women, and that some human rights violations specifically affect women. This is a reflection and a result of the patriarchal organization of society and men＇s position of dominance over women. The European and Inter-American Courts of Human Rights have begun to incorporate gender mainstreaming or a gender perspective in some judgments, especially in cases of violence against women.

Gender Mainstreaming Policy： Development and Culture in Taiwan

The gender mainstreaming policy has developed with the change of culture in Taiwan from 2001 to 2012. Based on literature review, this paper discusses the change of culture and the development of gender mainstreaming policy with ＂Gender at Work Framework＂ to explain the difference between change at the formal, organizational level and change at the informal and personal level for addressing the root causes of gender equality. This research finds that to achieve gender mainstreaming policy goal, the government has to foster robust, and sound cultural basis for the society.

Organizational Justice and Gender Equity:The Contingent Effect of Islamic Work Ethics

Organizations are facing challenges to cope with gender equity in the presence of a diverse workforce.The present study investigates the moderating impact of Islamic work ethics on the organizational justicegender equity relationship.Self-administered questionnaires were sent to employees working in a large private university in a State of Qatar.This study collected data from 250 employees with 66.12%response rate.The present study employed structural equation modelling to analyse data in SmartPLS 3.0 and SPSS version 24.Empirical findings revealed the significant relationship of distributive justice and interactional justice with gender equity.Procedural justice did not relate to gender equity.Furthermore,Islamic work ethics also moderated the relationship of interactional justice with gender equity.Limitations and implications have been added at the end of paper.This study is first in its nature revealing the conditional factor of Islamic work ethics on the organizational justicegender equity relationship.

Women Entrepreneurship Index Prediction Model with Automated Statistical Analysis

Recently,gender equality and women’s entrepreneurship have gained considerable attention in global economic development.Prior to the design of any policy interventions to increase women’s entrepreneurship,it is significant to comprehend the factors motivating women to become entrepreneurs.The non-understanding of the factors can result in the endurance of low living stan-dards and the design of expensive and ineffectual policies.But female involve-ment in entrepreneurship becomes higher in developing economies compared to developed economies.Women Entrepreneurship Index(WEI)plays a vital role in determining the factors that enable theflourishment of high potential female entrepreneurs which enhances economic welfare and contributes to the economic and social fabric of society.Therefore,it is needed to design an automated and accurate WEI prediction model to improve women’s entrepreneurship.In this view,this article develops an automated statistical analysis enabled WEI predic-tive(ASA-WEIP)model.The proposed ASA-WEIP technique aims to effectually determine the WEI.The proposed ASA-WEIP technique encompasses a series of sub-processes such as pre-processing,WEI prediction,and parameter optimiza-tion.For the prediction of WEI,the ASA-WEIP technique makes use of the Deep Belief Network(DBN)model,and the parameter optimization process takes place using Squirrel Search Algorithm(SSA).The performance validation of the ASA-WEIP technique was executed using the benchmark dataset from the Kaggle repo-sitory.The experimental outcomes stated the better outcomes of the ASA-WEIP technique over the other existing techniques.
