This may be an important factor in maintaining a sound campus life. Participants were 47 physically and mentally healthy students (average age 19.0 ± 0.6). We first investigated the developmental level of mental defensive functioning as an indicator of participants’ adaptive state at the time of the study. We used the Defensive Functioning Scale proposed in the 4th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). We attempted to quantify this scale by summing scores of seven Defense Levels based on individual defense mechanisms. We then measured physical and mental symptoms using the Cornell Medical Index (CMI), and compared the relationships between symptoms and defensive functioning (defensive functioning scale and physical symptoms, defensive functioning scale and mental symptoms, and physical symptoms and mental symptoms). Finally, we compared male and female results. Although there was no statistical difference, males showed higher average scores than females on the Defensive Functioning Scale vs physical/mental symptoms, which may indicate the relative suppression of women that characterizes the social and cultural background in Japan. In addition, there was a relatively high unisex positive correlation between physical symptoms and mental symptoms, which suggests that university health administrative staff need to provide mental as well as physical care to help students manage stress effectively. However, larger, more comparative studies on the social and cultural background are needed to further explore these issues.展开更多

Methods: 40 patients with ascites of liver cirrhosis admitted to our department from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected. According to a random number table, all patients were divided into an observation group treated with Yao Medicine and a control group treated with conventional Western medicine, with 20 cases in each group. The improvement of adverse emotions was evaluated before and after treatment using the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS). The changes in liver function indicators were observed to judge the efficacy and safety. Results: The effective rate in the observation group was 95.00%, and in the control group was 90.00%. The comparison between the two groups showed a significant increase in the effective rate in the observation group, with a statistically significant difference (P P P > 0.05). After treatment, compared with the control group, the observation group showed a significant decrease in SDS and SAS scores, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Yao Medicine can effectively improve the physical and mental symptoms of patients with ascites of liver cirrhosis, with good effectiveness and high safety.展开更多

Methods In the current study, 391 subjects who had undergone forensic identification of the organic mental disorders due to TBI were included, both the demographic and post-traumatic information collected. The relevant data were statistically analyzed in those confirmed as organic psychotic syndrome according to Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders 3rd version(CCMD-3). Results Fifty-two subjects(13.3%) were identified as organic psychotic symptoms. The chi-square test showed that the detectable organic psychotic symptoms were associated with the marriage status, damage nature, injury severity and treatment, and the multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed good fitness of treatment and injury severity with the regression model(OR=0.044, 95% CI: 0.017-0.114; OR=2.145,95% CI: 1.201-3.832, respectively). Conclusion The risks of organic psychotic symptoms following TBI can be involved in the alternative of craniotomy for the cases with trauma and moderate brain injury.展开更多

This study examines the complex relationship between mobile phone addiction and its impact on college students’ insomnia, symptoms of depression, and anxiety. A sample of 399 college students from traditional Chinese medicine colleges in Guangxi, China, completed the Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale questionnaire. Among them, 155 students with high Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency scores were selected for the correlation study. The analysis revealed a strong association between mobile phone addiction and insomnia. Furthermore, mobile phone addiction was significantly associated with symptoms of depression, including feelings of sadness, worthlessness, and hopelessness, as well as heightened anxiety symptoms, such as excessive worry and restlessness. These findings emphasized the importance of targeted interventions and preventive measures to address the negative impact of mobile phone addiction on college students’ mental health.展开更多
