The necessity and feasibility to develop that system in China are illustrated on the basis of prediction of the demand of energy source in the first half of the 21th century, the status of current fission energy supply and the progress in fusion technology in the world. The characteristics of fusion neutron driver and the potential for transmutation of long-lived nuclear wastes and breeding of fissile nuclear fuel in a blanket are analyzed. Thermal sources from the reactor have strongly constrained the cycle configu...Brayton power cycles for fusion reactors have been investigated, using Helium in classical configurations and CO2 in a recompression layout. Thermal sources from the reactor have strongly constrained the cycle configurations, hindering use of a recuperator in Helium cycles and conditioning the outlet turbine temperature in CO2 ones. In both cycles, it is possible to take advantage of the exhaust thermal energy by coupling the Brayton to a Rankine cycle, with an organic fluid in the helium case (iso-butane has been investigated) and steam in the CO2 case. The highest efficiency achieved with Helium cycle is 38.5% using Organic Rankine Cycle and 32.6% with Helium alone. The efficiency changes from 46.7% using Rankine cycle to 41% with CO2 alone. The Helium cycle is highly sensitive to turbine efficiency and in a moderate way to compressor efficiency and pressure drops, being nearly insensitive to thermal effectiveness in heat exchangers. On the other hand, CO2 is nearly insensitive to all the parameters.展开更多
Objective:Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(MP-MRI)helps to identify lesion of prostate with reasonable accuracy.We aim to describe the various uses of MP-MRI for prostate biopsy comparing different technique...Objective:Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(MP-MRI)helps to identify lesion of prostate with reasonable accuracy.We aim to describe the various uses of MP-MRI for prostate biopsy comparing different techniques of MP-MRI guided biopsy.Materials and methods:A literature search was performed for“multiparametric MRI”,“MRI fusion biopsy”,“MRI guided biopsy”,“prostate biopsy”,“MRI cognitive biopsy”,“MRI fusion biopsy systems”,“prostate biopsy”and“cost analysis”.The search operation was performed using the operator“OR”and“AND”with the above key words.All relevant systematic reviews,original articles,case series,and case reports were selected for this review.Results:The sensitivity of MRI targeted biopsy(MRI-TB)is between 91%e93%,and the specificity is between 36%e41%in various studies.It also has a high negative predictive value(NPV)of 89%e92%and a positive predictive value(PPV)of 51%e52%.The yield of MRI fusion biopsy(MRI-FB)is similar,if not superior to MR cognitive biopsy.In-bore MRI-TB had better detection rates compared to MR cognitive biopsy,but were similar to MR fusion biopsy.Conclusions:The use of MRI guidance in prostate biopsy is inevitable,subject to availability,cost,and experience.Any one of the three modalities(i.e.MRI cognitive,MRI fusion and MRI in-bore approach)can be used.MRI-FB has a fine balance with regards to accuracy,practicality and affordability.展开更多

The recent achievement of fusion ignition with laser-driven technologies at the National Ignition Facility sets a historic accomplishment in fusion energy research.This accomplishment paves the way for using laser ine...The recent achievement of fusion ignition with laser-driven technologies at the National Ignition Facility sets a historic accomplishment in fusion energy research.This accomplishment paves the way for using laser inertial fusion as a viable approach for future energy production.Europe has a unique opportunity to empower research in this field internationally,and the scientific community is eager to engage in this journey.We propose establishing a European programme on inertial-fusion energy with the mission to demonstrate laser-driven ignition in the direct-drive scheme and to develop pathway technologies for the commercial fusion reactor.The proposed roadmap is based on four complementary axes:(ⅰ)the physics of laser-plasma interaction and burning plasmas;(ⅱ)high-energy high repetition rate laser technology;(ⅲ)fusion reactor technology and materials;and(ⅳ)reinforcement of the laser fusion community by international education and training programmes.We foresee collaboration with universities,research centres and industry and establishing joint activities with the private sector involved in laser fusion.This project aims to stimulate a broad range of high-profile industrial developments in laser,plasma and radiation technologies along with the expected high-level socio-economic impact.展开更多
This paper describes the analysis and design of an assistive device for elderly people under development at the EgyptJapan University of Science and Technology(E-JUST) named E-JUST assistive device(EJAD).Several e...This paper describes the analysis and design of an assistive device for elderly people under development at the EgyptJapan University of Science and Technology(E-JUST) named E-JUST assistive device(EJAD).Several experiments were carried out using a motion capture system(VICON) and inertial sensors to identify the human posture during the sit-to-stand motion.The EJAD uses only two inertial measurement units(IMUs) fused through an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems(ANFIS) algorithm to imitate the real motion of the caregiver.The EJAD consists of two main parts,a robot arm and an active walker.The robot arm is a 2-degree-of-freedom(2-DOF) planar manipulator.In addition,a back support with a passive joint is used to support the patient s back.The IMUs on the leg and trunk of the patient are used to compensate for and adapt to the EJAD system motion depending on the obtained patient posture.The ANFIS algorithm is used to train the fuzzy system that converts the IMUs signals to the right posture of the patient.A control scheme is proposed to control the system motion based on practical measurements taken from the experiments.A computer simulation showed a relatively good performance of the EJAD in assisting the patient.展开更多
