Based on wave theory, the equation of the lateral wave-field stacking for generalized-offset Fresnel zones is derived. For zero and nonzero offsets, the lateral stacking amplitude of diffraction bins of different sizes is analyzed by referring to the shape of the Fresnel zones of different order. The results suggest the following. First, the contribution of diffraction bins to wave- field stacking is related to the offset, surface relief, interface dip, the depth of the shot point to the reflection interface, the observational geometry, and the size of the interference stacking region. Second, the first-order Fresnel zone is the main constructive interference, and its contribution to the reflection amplitude is slightly smaller than half the contribution of all Fresnel zones. Finally, when the size of the diffraction bin is smaller than the first- order Fresnel zone, the larger the size of the diffraction bin, the larger is the amplitude of the receiver, even in the nonzero offset-case.展开更多

Based on conflicting-point method, the internal mechanism of left-turn flow after stopping line was analyzed through taking postposition left-turn lane waiting-zone intersection for instance. The relationship between the first left-turn vehicle and the last vehicle of previous phase passing the conflicting point was expounded. According to the time of successive arriving of two vehicle flows at conflicting-point, the reasonable layout for waiting area of left-turn vehicles was researched when the clearance index was less than O. The results suggest that the appropriate layout for waiting area of left-turning vehicles can improve the operation efficiency of intersections.展开更多

The technique is based on the impedance seen by distance relays when faults are simulated on the reach of zone-1 relays. The approach checks the relay operation for the maximum as well as the minimum generation outputs of the power system. The proposed technique can be used for different reach setting for zone-1. Results show that it is possible to increase the coverage provided by zone-2 distance relays without causing coordination problems with the primary relays that protect the lines emanating from the remote bus. The proposed method is modified for use in an adaptive protection system. It is shown that further improvements can be achieved when settings are calculated using the proposed method and the prevailing system conditions. The proposed method and its adaptive version were applied to a part of the Power system. The simulation of the system is done by using PSCAD-EMTDC software. The simulated results are observed and compared with the conventional and proposed technique.展开更多

MT models across the CITZ, including the new resistivity model across the 1938 Satpura lower crustal earthquake epicenter, show low resistive (〈80 Ωm) mid-lower crust and infer small volume (〈1 vol%) of aqueous fluids existing in most part of lower crust. This in conjunction with xenoliths and other geophysical data supports a predominant brittle/semi-brittle lower crustal theology. However, the local deep crustal zones with higher fluid content of 2.2%-6.5% which have been mapped imply high pore pressure conditions. The observation above and the significant strain rate in the region provide favorable conditions (strong/ moderate rock strength, moderate temperature, high pore pressure and high strain rate) for brittle failure in the lower crust. It can be inferred that the fluid-rich pockets in the mid-lower crust might have catalyzed earthquake generation by acting as the source of local stress (fluid pressure), which together with the regional stress produced critical seismogenic stress conditions. Alternatively, fluids reduce the shear strength of the rocks to favor tectonic stress concentration that can be transferred to seismogenic faults to trigger earthquakes.展开更多

The geophysical data processing approach adopted concentrated on mapping geological boundaries, geological structures and possible gold mineralization zones is link to hydrothermally altered zones. The application of the enhancement filtering algorithms such as the reduction to the pole and analytic signal to the magnetic data, as well as the ternary radiometric image aided in the mapping of the mafic metavolcanics, basin metasediments and the belt-type granitoid complexes. The first vertical derivative and tilt angle derivative filters helped to delineate fractures, folds, and the contact zones of the formations such as that of the metavolcanics-metasediments that host the main Bibiani Shear Zone. Lineament analysis of the structures using rose diagram, reveals two main tectonic episodes in the area. These are NE-SW and NNW-SSE trending regional structures which account for about 90% of the extracted structures and are associated with the D1 and D2 deformational episodes of the Birimian Formation respectively. These structures are major fracture systems and play a pivotal role in the localization of gold mineralization in the study area.展开更多

It is shown that the proposed ternary ZCZ sequence sets can reach the upper bound on the ZCZ sequences. The performance of the proposed sequences set in asynchronous Direct Sequence-Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) system is evaluated. In the simulation we used two types of channels: Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and frequency non-selective fading with AWGN noise. The proposed ternary ZCZ sequence sets show better results, in term of Bit Error Rate (BER), than Hayashi’s ternary ZCZ sequence sets.展开更多

The opportunity to provide integrated EXW management options has opened a new vista and is enhanced by well-informed communities who are aware of the management approach available to them. We hypothesized that differential success in EXW control is mainly due to approach used in the EXW control. It is the responsibility of the research institute to adequately inform these communities via a combination of community mobilization and awareness creation. This paper therefore assessed the importance of stake holders’ mobilization and awareness creation for the promotion of technologies for EXW control in Ethiopia among 2010-2012. Individual interviews and direct on-farm participatory monitoring and observation with 60 farm households, key informant interviews, relevant secondary data, literature and inter-personal data were collected from unpublished progress report from National Enset Research Project, elderly people and senior experts. Results showed that about 25.6% of farmers’ field was infected by the disease in 2007 and the level reached 54.5% in 2010. End line assessment has shown that the disease prevalence declined to 10 percent in 2013. Disease incidence has shown that the intensity was highest in 2010;that is on average more than 17 enset were infected by the disease and shown significant decline in 2013 to about 1 infected enset on the infected fields. The intervention brought about promising step-ups in controlling the devastation by EXW. This intervention demonstrated that the disease impact can be minimized to a significant level if community mobilization and awareness creation with other local formal and informal institutions go hand in hand to out scale the experience to a wider range of enset farming communities.展开更多

文摘The Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone(YZSZ)in southern Tibet includes the remnants of Neotethyan oceanic lithosphere and marks a major suture between the Indian Plate to the south and the Lhasa Terrane of Tibet to the north(Dupuis et al.,2005;Yang et al.,2011).In the western part of the YZSZ,the Northern and the Southern sub-belts form two sub-parallel zones of mafic–ultramaficrockassemblageswithoverlapping crystallization ages(Xiong et al.,2011;Hebért et al.,2012;Liu et al.,2015).The upper mantle section of the Cuobuzha ophiolite in the northern sub-belt of the Yarlung–Zangbo Suture Zone(YZSZ)in SW Tibet comprises mainly clinopyroxene(cpx)–rich and depleted harzburgites.Spinels in the cpx-harzburgites show lower Cr#values(12.6–15.1)than the spinels in the harzburgites(26.1–34.5),and the cpx-harzburgites display higher heavy rare earth element concentrations than the depleted harzburgites. The harzburgites have subchondritic Os isotopic compositions(0.11624–0.11699),whereas the cpx-harzburgites have suprachondritic 187Os/188Os ratios(0.12831–0.13125)with higher Re concentrations(0.380-0.575 ppb). The cpx-harzburgites plot in a Re vs.Al2O3 diagram as a result of subsequent addition of Re following the last partial melting event that occurred during mid-ocean ridge melt evolution processes(Uysal et al.,2015).Although these geochemical and isotopic signatures suggest that both peridotite types in the ophiolite represent mid-ocean ridge type upper mantle units, their melt evolution trends reflect different mantle processes. The cpx-harzburgites formed from low-degree partial melting(;%)of a primitive mantle source, and they weresubsequently modified by melt–rock interactions in a mid-ocean ridge environment. The depleted harzburgites,on the other hand, were produced by re-melting of the cpx-harzburgites,which later interacted with MORB-or island arc tholeiite(IAT)-like melts(Fig.1)possibly in a trench-distal backarc spreading center. Our new isotopic and geochemical data from the Cuobuzha peridotites confirm that the Neotethyan upper mantle had highly heterogeneous Os isotopic compositions as a result of multiple melt production and melt extraction events during its seafloor spreading evolution.

文摘To unify different seismic geometries, the concept of generalized offset is defined and the expressions for Fresnel zones of different order on a plane are presented. Finally, when the size of the diffraction bin is smaller than the first- order Fresnel zone, the larger the size of the diffraction bin, the larger is the amplitude of the receiver, even in the nonzero offset-case.

文摘To maximize the number of vehicles passing by the stop-line in a cycle and improve the operation efficiency of intersection in China, the settlement of left-turn lane waiting-zone is becoming prevailing. The results suggest that the appropriate layout for waiting area of left-turning vehicles can improve the operation efficiency of intersections.

文摘Sheet-bulk metal forming(SBMF)is a promising process for manufacturing complex sheet components with functional elements. In this study, the entire forming process for a typical thin-walled component with external gearing is investigated, including sheet forming and bulk forming processes.Deep drawn cups are prepared during sheet forming;subsequently, upsetting is performed on the sidewall to form external gearing. The upsetting method performed is known as upsetting with a controllable deformation zone(U-CDZ).Compared with the conventional upsetting method,a floating counter punch with a counter force is used in the U-CDZ method such that the forming mechanism is changed into the accumulation of the deformation zone instead of deformation throughout the entire sidewall. The effects of the counter force and material flow are investigated to understand the mechanism. The forming quality,i.e.,the formfilling and effective strain distribution, improved, whereas a high forming load is avoided. In addition,a punch with a lock bead is used to prevent folding at the inner corner during the experiment.
文摘This paper presents a technique that increases the second-zone coverage of distance relays without causing overreach problems. The simulated results are observed and compared with the conventional and proposed technique.
文摘Lower crustal earthquake occurrence in the Central Indian Tectonic Zone (CITZ) of the Indian sub-continent was investigated using magnetotelluric (MT) data. Alternatively, fluids reduce the shear strength of the rocks to favor tectonic stress concentration that can be transferred to seismogenic faults to trigger earthquakes.
文摘Airborne magnetic and radiometric datasets are used to interpret the geology and geological structural patterns which serve as potential gold mineralization zones in the Kyerano area located at south-western boundary of the prospective Sefwi Gold Belt and the Kumasi Basin in south-western Ghana. These structures are major fracture systems and play a pivotal role in the localization of gold mineralization in the study area.
文摘In this paper we propose a new class of ternary Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) sequence sets based on binary ZCZ sequence sets construction. The proposed ternary ZCZ sequence sets show better results, in term of Bit Error Rate (BER), than Hayashi’s ternary ZCZ sequence sets.

文摘In this study, zircon U-Pb dating of volcanic rocks from the Zhongba ophiolite of the Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone(YZSZ)in southern Xizang(Tibet)yielded an age of 247±3 Ma.According to whole rock geochemical and Sr-NdPb isotopic data, the Early Triassic samples could be divided into two groups:Group 1 with P-MORB affinity, showing initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of 0.70253–0.70602,ε_(Nd)(t)values of 4.2–5.3,(^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 16.353–18.222,(^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 15.454–15.564,and(^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 35.665–38.136;Group 2 with OIB affinity, showing initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of 0.70249–0.70513,ε_(Nd)(t)values of 4.4–4.9,(^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 17.140–18.328,(^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 15.491–15.575,and(^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb)_(t)ratios of 36.051–38.247.Group 2 rocks formed by partial melting of the mantle source enriched by a former plume, and assimilated continental crustal material during melt ascension. The formation of Group 1 rocks corresponds to the mixing of OIB melts, with the same components as Group 2 and N-MORBs.The Zhongba Early Triassic rocks belong to the continental margin type ophiolite and formed in the continental–oceanic transition zone during the initial opening of the Neo-Tethys in southern Xizang(Tibet).
文摘Enset bacterial wilt (EXW) caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. musacearum is the major constraint in enset-based farming system. This intervention demonstrated that the disease impact can be minimized to a significant level if community mobilization and awareness creation with other local formal and informal institutions go hand in hand to out scale the experience to a wider range of enset farming communities.

文摘The infamous type Ⅳ failure within the fine-grained heat-affected zone (FGHAZ) in G115 steel weldments seriously threatens the safe operation of ultra-supercritical (USC) power plants. In this work, the traditional thermo-mechanical treatment was modified via the replacement of hot-rolling with cold rolling,i.e.,normalizing,cold rolling, and tempering (NCT),which was developed to improve the creep strength of the FGHAZ in G115 steel weldments. The NCT treatment effectively promoted the dissolution of preformed M_(23)C_(6)particles and relieved the boundary segregation of C and Cr during welding thermal cycling, which accelerated the dispersed reprecipitation of M_(23)C_(6) particles within the fresh reaustenitized grains during post-weld heat treatment. In addition, the precipitation of Cu-rich phases and MX particles was promoted evidently due to the deformation-induced dislocations. As a result, the interacting actions between precipitates, dislocations, and boundaries during creep were reinforced considerably.Following this strategy, the creep rupture life of the FGHAZ in G115 steel weldments can be prolonged by 18.6%,which can further push the application of G115 steel in USC power plants.

文摘In the assessment of car insurance claims, the claim rate for car insurance presents a highly skewed probability distribution, which is typically modeled using Tweedie distribution. The traditional approach to obtaining the Tweedie regression model involves training on a centralized dataset, when the data is provided by multiple parties, training a privacy-preserving Tweedie regression model without exchanging raw data becomes a challenge. To address this issue, this study introduces a novel vertical federated learning-based Tweedie regression algorithm for multi-party auto insurance rate setting in data silos. The algorithm can keep sensitive data locally and uses privacy-preserving techniques to achieve intersection operations between the two parties holding the data. After determining which entities are shared, the participants train the model locally using the shared entity data to obtain the local generalized linear model intermediate parameters. The homomorphic encryption algorithms are introduced to interact with and update the model intermediate parameters to collaboratively complete the joint training of the car insurance rate-setting model.Performance tests on two publicly available datasets show that the proposed federated Tweedie regression algorithm can effectively generate Tweedie regression models that leverage the value of data fromboth partieswithout exchanging data. The assessment results of the scheme approach those of the Tweedie regressionmodel learned fromcentralized data, and outperformthe Tweedie regressionmodel learned independently by a single party.

文摘An observer-based adaptive backstepping boundary control is proposed for vibration control of flexible offshore riser systems with unknown nonlinear input dead zone and uncertain environmental disturbances. The control algorithm can update the control law online through real-time data to make the controller adapt to the environment and improve the control precision.Specifically, based on the adaptive backstepping framework, virtual control laws and Lyapunov functions are designed for each subsystem.Three direction interference observers are designed to track the timevarying boundary disturbance. On this basis, the inverse of the dead zone and linear state transformation are used to compensate for the original system and eliminate the adverse effects of the dead zone.In addition, the stability of the closed-loop system is proven by Lyapunov stability theory. All the system states are bounded, and the vibration offset of the riser converges to a small area of the initial position. Finally, four examples of flexible marine risers are simulated in MATLAB to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

文摘AIM:To present the 1-year results of a prospective cohort study investigating the efficacy, potential mechanism, and safety of orthokeratology(ortho-k)with different back optic zone diameters(BOZD)for myopia control in children.METHODS:This randomized clinical study was performed between Dec.2020 and Dec.2021.Participants were randomly assigned to three groups wearing ortho-k:5 mm BOZD(5-MM group),5.5 mm BOZD(5.5-MM group),and 6 mm BOZD(6-MM group). The 1-year data were recorded, including axial length, relative peripheral refraction(RPR,measured by multispectral refractive topography,MRT),and visual quality. The contrast sensitivity(CS)was evaluated by CSV-1000 instrument with spatial frequencies of 3,6,12,and 18 cycles/degree(c/d);the corneal higher-order aberrations(HOAs)were measured by iTrace aberration analyzer. The one-way ANOVA was performed to assess the differences between the three groups. The correlation between the change in AL and RPR was calculated by Pearson’s correlation coefficient.RESULTS:The 1-year results of 20,21,and 21 subjects in the 5-MM,5.5-MM,and 6-MM groups, respectively, were presented. There were no statistical differences in baseline age, sex,or ocular parameters between the three groups(all P>0.05).At the 1-year visit, the 5-MM group had lower axial elongation than the 6-MM group(0.07±0.09 vs 0.18±0.11 mm,P=0.001).The 5-MM group had more myopic total RPR(TRPR,P=0.014),with RPR in the 15°–30°(RPR 15–30,P=0.015),30°–45°(RPR 30–45,P=0.011),temporal(RPR-T,P=0.008),and nasal area(RPR-N,P<0.001)than the 6-MM group.RPR 15–30 in the 5.5-MM group was more myopic than that in the 6-MM group(P=0.002),and RPR-N in the 5-MM group was more myopic than that in the 5.5-MM group(P<0.001).There were positive correlations between the axial elongation and the change in TRPR(r=0.756,P<0.001),RPR 15–30(r=0.364,P=0.004),RPR 30–45(r=0.306,P=0.016),and RPR-N(r=0.253,P=0.047).The CS decreased at 3 c/d(P<0.001),and the corneal HOAs increased in the 5-MM group(P=0.030).CONCLUSION:Ortho-k with 5 mm BOZD can control myopia progression more effectively. The mechanism may be associated with greater myopic shifts in RPR.
