对阵列波导光栅(AWG)器件的偏振相关波长(PDW)进行理论分析,研究PDW产生的机制以及优化方案。以石英基二氧化硅密集AWG作为研究对象,针对AWG中易于产生PDW的波导部位即与输入/输出平板波导连接处的波导间距在1~5μm范围内的阵列波导进... 对阵列波导光栅(AWG)器件的偏振相关波长(PDW)进行理论分析,研究PDW产生的机制以及优化方案。以石英基二氧化硅密集AWG作为研究对象,针对AWG中易于产生PDW的波导部位即与输入/输出平板波导连接处的波导间距在1~5μm范围内的阵列波导进行分析。利用有限元法分析上述连接处阵列波导的热应力分布,基于热应力仿真分析及相关理论分析,对这部分波导对应的包层进行掺杂以调节包层的热膨胀系数,从而减小波导正交方向的热应力差,达到优化PDW的目的;提出一种新工艺流程以实现AWG不同波导处包层的掺杂,使PDW优化得以实现。研究结果表明:对连接处陈列波导的包层掺入不同氧化物如P_(2)O_(5)和B_(2)O_(3),在保证包层折射率不变的条件下,增加包层的热膨胀系数至2.42×10^(-6)/℃,可将AWG的PDW优化至0.05 nm以下;结合新工艺可制备出低PDW的AWG器件,从而满足商业要求。 展开更多

A new technology for fabrication of silica on silicon arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) based on deep etching and thermal oxidation is presented.Using this method,a silicon layer is remained at the side of waveguide.The stress distribution and effective refractive index of waveguide fabricated by this approach are calculated using finite element and finite difference beam propagation method,respectively.The results of these studies indicate that the stress of silica on silicon optical waveguide can be matched in parallel and vertical direction and AWG polarization dependent wavelength (PDλ) can be reduced effectively due to side-silicon layer. 展开更多

A polarization-dependent supercontinuum spectrum source of light from the UV to infrared region has been generated in our photonic crystal fiber with birefringence B=2.23×10 3.By tuning the polarization direction of the input pulse,it is found that the width of the supercontinuum spectrum changes dramatically with the input polarization directions.At the same time,we qualitatively explain the blue-shift peak and the red-shift peak in the experimental spectrum using phase matching conditions on dispersive waves,stoke waves and the pump wave.In addition,we also found that supercontinuum spectrum generation,to some extent,is dependent on the pump wavelength and average power of the pump.The spectrum is broadened with the increase of average power,but unchanged after average power reaches a certain value;when the pump wavelength is located in the anomalous dispersion and further away from the zero-dispersion wavelength,the spectrum of the supercontinuum is wider. 展开更多
