A series of Co-Sn alloys with Sn content ranging from 12% to 32%(mole fraction) were undercooled to different degrees below the equilibrium liquidus temperature and the solidification behaviors were investigated by ...A series of Co-Sn alloys with Sn content ranging from 12% to 32%(mole fraction) were undercooled to different degrees below the equilibrium liquidus temperature and the solidification behaviors were investigated by monitoring the temperature recalescence and examing the solidification microstructures.A boundary clearly exists,which separates the coupled growth zone from the decoupled growth zone of eutectic phases for the alloys with Sn content ranging from 14% to 31%(mole fraction).The other Co-Sn alloys out of this content range are hard to be undercooled into the coupled growth zone in the experiment.It is found that the so-called non-reciprocal nucleation phenomenon does not happen in the solidification of undercooled Co-Sn off-eutectic alloys.展开更多

The paper is based on the results of two research experiences: an European research titled "Improving the Quality of Suburban Building Stock" (COST Action TU0701 ) and an Italian National Research project called ...The paper is based on the results of two research experiences: an European research titled "Improving the Quality of Suburban Building Stock" (COST Action TU0701 ) and an Italian National Research project called "Renovation, Regeneration and Valorization of Social Housing Settlements Built in the Suburban Areas in the Second Half of Last Century" (PRIN 2010-2012). The paper summarizes the researches outputs whose main aim was to illustrate the potentialities of different strategies for the improvement of suburbs. In order to implement different strategies for the refurbishment of suburban areas, researches were aimed firstly at the identification of several case studies that are representatives of the European panorama because of their typology, construction and state of physical and social deterioration. The final result was a collection of examples for the urban regeneration, gathered from case studies but offering a wide-scale of applications on public housing complexes. The paper highlights different approaches and strategies taken by different countries towards the methodologies of assessing, refurbishing and adding new value to the suburban areas, in view of increasing not only the quality of buildings but also the quality of public spaces and services, for a better quality of life of the citizens.展开更多

A...A series of pot experiments and field trials were carried out to evaluate the effects of arbuscular mycor- rhizal fungi (AMF) on activities of soil enzymes and carbon sequestration capacity in reclaimed mine soil. A complex substrate of coal gangue, fly ash and sludge was used as reclaimed mine soil, and ryegrass was planted with AMF inoculation to construct a plant-complex substrate-microbe ecological restoration sys- tem. The changes to the soil organic carbon (SOC), activities of soil enzymes and glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) were measured and the effects of AMF on activities of soil enzymes and carbon sequestra- tion capacity (n reclaimed mine soil were analyzed. The results show that the contents of GRSP (total glo- malin (TG) and easily extractable glomalin (EEG)), SOC and activities of enzymes increased, and the increments were higher in the AMF inoculation treated plant-complex substrate-microbe ecological res- toration systems than those with no AMF inoculated treatments after 12 months of ryegrass growth. TG, EEG and soil enzyme activity have a significant positive correlation, and the correlative coefficient was 0.427-0.573; SOC and TG, EEG have a significant positive correlation (p 〈 0.01 ), indicating that AMF plays an important role in carbon sequestration of reclaimed mine soils.展开更多
