Then, based on the nonlinear elastic-ideal plastic pile-soil interface model, a nonlinear iterative algorithm was given to analyze the pile-soil interaction, and a program for buckling analysis of piles by the EFGM (PBAP-EFGM) and arc length method was worked out as well. The application results in an engineering example show that, the shape of pile top load-settlement curve obtained by the program agrees well with the measured one, of which the difference may be caused mainly by those uncertain factors such as possible initial defects of pile shaft and the eccentric loading during the test process. However, the calculated critical load is very close with the measured ultimate load of the test pile, and the corresponding relative error is only 5.6%, far better than the calculated values by linear and nonlinear incremental buckling analysis (with a greater relative error of 37.0% and 15.4% respectively), which also verifies the rationality and feasibility of the present method.展开更多

In this process, MIBK was chosen as the azeotropic agent during the first step of separation. The optimum mass ratio of extra MIBK was 1.6 in the modified feed stream according to the residual curve. Thus on this condition the top product was butanol-MIBK azeotrope while the bottom product was butyl acetate in the preliminary separation of the mixture. Then the butanol and MIBK azeotrope was separated by the double effect pressureswing distillation with the low pressure column performing at 30 kPa and the atmospheric pressure column at 101 kPa. The optimal operating conditions were then obtained by using Aspen Plus to simulate and optimize the process. The results showed that the mass purities of butanol, butyl acetate, and MIBK were all more than 99% and reached the design requirements. Additionally, compared with the traditional distillation with outside heating, the double effect pressure swing distillation saved the reboiler duty by 48.6% and the condenser duty by 44.6%.展开更多

Precise prediction of sheet springback is very important in die design. Based on Hill’s yielding criterion and plane strain condition, an analytical model is proposed in this paper which takes into account the effects of contact pressure, the length of bending arm between the punch and die, transverse stress, neutral surface shifting and sheet thickness thinning on the sheet springback of V-bending. The predicted results by this analytical model indicated that the contact pressure and transverse stress have much effect on the springback when the bending ratio (the ratio of punch radius to sheet thickness) is less than five. The contact pressure declined when the length of bending arm goes up, which means that shorter length of bending arm will result in larger springback. The effect of neutral surface shifting on the springback is less than that of contact pressure and decreases with the bending ratio. However, this research showed that the influence of thickness thinning on the springback can be ignored. Comparison with finite element method (FEM) simu-lating results shows that the predicted results by the analytical model accord well with simulation results by FEM. In addition to that, the bending ability—the limit bending ratio for a given sheet thickness and material properties was also determined.展开更多

Based on the method of application and shape characteristics of a refuge chamber, we simplified its shell as an orthotropic cylinder. The basic buckling equation of the stiffened cylindrical shell under uniform axial compression was deduced by using a Donnell function. The factors affecting its buckling capacity were studied by theoretical analysis and numerical calculations. The results reveal that the torsional rigidity of the longitudinal stiffener had little effect on the buckling capacity of the shell and that the critical load of an externally stiffened cylindrical shell is higher than that of an internally stiffened cylindrical shell.展开更多
