The new curriculum standards have put forward new requirements for candidates’ knowledge and abilities. In this paper, based on the SOLO theory analysis, the proposition analysis of the 2024 New College Entrance Examination English Paper I shows that the ratio of the overall number of questions in uninstructural level U:multi-structural level M:relational level R:extended abstract level EA is about 12:29:24:2. In terms of score, the ratio of uninstructural level U:multi-structural level M:relational level R:extended abstract level EA is about 25:41.5:43.5:40. This indicates that the number and score of the test questions tend to be at a higher level of thinking, while the number and score of questions at a lower level of thinking are relatively lower. Based on the conclusion of proposition analysis, this study provides reference suggestions for daily English teaching in senior high school.展开更多
