Based on the theoretical framework, the signal-pressure curves (SPC) of the CFWM in gas-filled capillary by fs pulses are calculated. With a comparison between the theoretical and experimental SPC we have discussed the influence of the walk-off and Phase modulation on the SPC. At the same time, we have discussed the possible origin of the first three peaks of the SPC.展开更多

We derive the corresponding explicit analytical expressions for the generated four-wave mixing (FWM) field. Dependencies of the intensity of the generate FWM field on the propagation distance, on the input-wave intensity, and on the photon detuning are investigated. Using Cu-phthalocyanine(CuPc),4,4’-diaminodiphenyl ether and pyromellitic dianhydride as monomer materials, polyimide(PI) thin films doped-CuPc have been prepared onto glass substrate by vapor phase co-deposition...Using Cu-phthalocyanine(CuPc),4,4’-diaminodiphenyl ether and pyromellitic dianhydride as monomer materials, polyimide(PI) thin films doped-CuPc have been prepared onto glass substrate by vapor phase co-deposition polymerization under a vacuum of 2×10-3Pa and thermal curing of polyamic acid film in at temperature of 150-200℃ for 60min. In this process, the polymerization can be carried out through controlling the stoichiometric ratio, heating time and deposition rates of the three monomers. IR spectrum identifies the designed chemical structure of the polymer. The absorption of polyimide doped-CuPc is very intense in vis-range and near-infrared by UV-Vis spectrum. And, the PI films doped-CuPc polymerized by vapor phase deposition have uniformity, fine thermal stability and good nonlinear optical properties, and the third-order optical nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) with degenerate four-wave mixing can be 1.984×10-9ESU.展开更多
Two novel poly[(3-alkylthiophene-2,5-diyl)-(benzylidenequinomethane-2,5-diyl)s] derivatives, poly[ (3-butylthiophene-2,5-diyl)-( p-N,N-dimethylamino) benzylidenequinomethane-2,5-diyl) ] ( PBTDMABQ) and poly [( 3-octyl...Two novel poly[(3-alkylthiophene-2,5-diyl)-(benzylidenequinomethane-2,5-diyl)s] derivatives, poly[ (3-butylthiophene-2,5-diyl)-( p-N,N-dimethylamino) benzylidenequinomethane-2,5-diyl) ] ( PBTDMABQ) and poly [( 3-octylthiophene2,5-diyl) -(p-N, N-dimethylamino ) benzylidenequinomethane-2, 5-diyl)] (POTDMABQ), were synthesized.The band gaps of the two polymers are calculated as 1. 75 eV for PBTDMABQ and 1. 69 eV for POTDMABQ,respectively. The homogenous films of the two polymers were prepared and their third-ordernonlinear optical properties were studied by the backward degenerate four-wave mixing at 532 nm. Byusing the relative measurement technique, the third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilities ofPBTDMABQ and POTDMABQ are calculated as 5. 62 X 10^(-9) and 1. 22 X 10^(-8) ESU, respectively. It isfound that substituted alky groups have strong effects on the band gap and nonlinear opticalproperties of the two polymers. The relatively big third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilitiesand small band gap of POTDMABQ resulted mainly from the longer alkyl with strong electron-donatingability can enhance the delocation degree of conjugated π electronics.展开更多

It is found that the maximally entangle...An analytical method based on four-wave mixing (FWM) is here developed to study the generation of entangled state in an asymmetric semiconductor double quantum well structure. It is found that the maximally entangled state of two beams (the probe and four-wave mixing beams) can be achieved in an appropriate condition. Moreover, we also show that the two entangled beams propagate with ultraslow group velocity in the semiconductor medium. This investigation can be used for achieving the entangled beams in the semiconductor solid-state medium, which is much more practical than that in an atomic medium because of its flexible design and the wide adjustable parameters.展开更多

Strong dispersion management to suppress the detrimental effects of intra-channel four-wave...The effect of intra-channel four-wave mixing on the performance of a 160 Gb/s OTDM RZ 100 km transmission system is analyzed. Strong dispersion management to suppress the detrimental effects of intra-channel four-wave mixing is presented theoretically and verified experimentally. Results demonstrate that amplitude fluctuation and ghost pulses are well suppressed by strong dispersion management. Stable (>2 h) error-free (10-12 ) transmission over 100 km is achieved without forward-error correction, and the power penalty is ~3.6 dB.展开更多

Based on the principle of virtual equivalent gain,the evolution of self-similar pulses in a normal dispersion-decreasing fiber is investigated.The occurrence of wave breaking during the process under highly nonlinear ...Based on the principle of virtual equivalent gain,the evolution of self-similar pulses in a normal dispersion-decreasing fiber is investigated.The occurrence of wave breaking during the process under highly nonlinear conditions and the effect of its revealed four-wave mixing on the process are also analyzed.The results indicate that the pulse spectrum broadeningin the initial stage is dominated by self-phase modulation while by four-wave mixing in the later stage.The more intense nonlinearity is,the faster the pulse evolution converges to the self-similarity synchronously in both the time domain and the spectrum domain.展开更多

It is sho...The time-dependent analysis of four-wave mixing(FWM) has been performed in four-level double semiconductor quantum wells(SQWs) considering the cross-coupling of the longitude-optical phonons(LOP) relaxation. It is shown that both the amplitude and the conversion efficiency of the FWM field enhance greatly with the increasing strength of cross-coupling of LOP relaxation. Interestingly, a double peak value of the conversion efficiency is obtained under a relatively weak single-photon detuning considering the LOP coupling. When the detuning becomes stronger,the double peaks turn into one peak appearing at the line respect to the about equality two control fields. The results can be interpreted by the effect of electromagnetically induced transparency and the indirect transition. Such controlled high efficiency FWM based on the cross-coupling LOP may have potential applications in quantum control and communications.展开更多
