Strengthening the cross-cultural dissemination of Chinese culture is crucial in presenting a true, three-dimensional, and comprehensive image of China to the world. The promotion of culture-loaded words is of great importance. The relevance translation theory believes that translation is a cross-cultural “explicit-inference” process centered around the translator. With the help of parallel corpus, this paper analyzes the translation of culture-loaded words in Lu Xun’s story collection Wandering to explore how translators can use appropriate translation strategies to conduct cross-cultural communication between the original author and the target reader. It is found that free translation can help readers better grasp the context of the original text and achieve optimal relevance. This study aims to provide translators with new insights into the promotion of culture-loaded words, which is conducive to promoting the development of literary research and cross-cultural communication.展开更多
