A new cascade control program was proposed based on modified internal model control to handle stable,unstable and integrating processes with time delay.The program had totally four controllers of which the secondary loop had two controllers and the primary loop had two controllers.The two secondary loop controllers were designed using IMC technique.They were decoupled completely and could be adjusted independently,which avoided the undesirable influence on performance of the primary controllers.The main controller in the primary loop was devised as a PID using the method of minimum sensitivity,which could guarantee not only the nominal performance but also the robust stability of the system.A setpoint filter was added in the primary loop to improve the tracking performance.All the controllers of the two closed-loops were designed analytically,and could be adjusted and optimized by single parameter respectively.Simulations were carried out on three various processes with time delay,and the results show that the proposed method can provide a better performance of both set-point tracking and disturbance rejection and robustness against parameters perturbation. 展开更多

The design and assembly of environmental monitoring and control system for large-scale pig house with fermentation bed helped to solve the problem of environmental automatic control in piggery.The sensors would monitor the temperature,humidity,light,wind direction,wind speed,CO2,NH3and other parameters.On-line real-time data collection was achieved.The expert system was constructed to control the temperature in piggery below 30℃,to control the air and mattress humidities higher than 65%.Under the conditions of different season or different wind speed,even in day and night,the control actuators were different.The actuators included fanning wet curtain,lighting,micro spraying,spraying,propeller fan,electric aluminum alloy shutter and spraying systems on the roof.The actuators were integrated,and they control the piggery environment simultaneously.The system also designed the remote video monitor interface,parameter-monitoring curved interface and operation interface,which provided a good man-machine interface. 展开更多

The traditional soft-sensing structure is open-loop without correction mechanism. If the working condition is changed or there is unknown disturbance, the forecast result of soft-sensing model may be incorrect. In order to obtain accurate values, it is necessary to carry out online correction. In this paper, a semiclosed-loop framework (SLF) is proposed to establish a soft-sensing approach, which estimates the input variables in the next moment by a prediction model and calibrates the output variables by a compensation model. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better prediction accuracy and robustness than other open-loop models. 展开更多

To minimize losses between harvest and retail display, a system is needed to track temperature and RH exposure of fresh produce and predict its quality at each step of the distribution chain. With accurate models, such system could (1) identify problematic situations before losses occur; (2) become a management tool for decision makers; and (3) help quantify the real impact of individual inappropriate conditions. A project was initiated to develop models required for such a decision system. Because the data required to develop models were not available for most fruit and vegetables, a series of storage trials was planned for measuring changes in physiological and microbial quality, and development of physiological disorders and/or diseases, as a function of time, temperature and RH. To meet this objective, controlled environment mini-chambers were designed, built and instrumented for measuring the effect of traceable environmental conditions encountered during storage and transportation of fresh horticultural produce of similar size and shape as tomato. Detailed design and performance evaluation of these mini-chambers are presented. 展开更多

The proposed ROV's GUI platform allows the controller such as fuzzy-logic control systems design to be compared with other controllers such as proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and sliding-mode controller (SMC) systematically and interactively. External disturbance such as sea current can he added to improve the modelling in actual underwater environment. Recently, the author has proposed an operative and mathematical method by an opportune choice of tensioned anchors to control the tunnel lining settlements. Learning control for gradually varying references in iteration domain was considered in this research, and a composite iterative learning control strategy was proposed to enable a plant to track unknown iteration-dependent trajectories. Specifically, by decoupling the current reference into the desired trajectory of the last trial and a disturbance signal with small magnitude, the learning and feedback parts were designed respectively to ensure fine tracking performance. After some theoretical analysis, the judging condition on whether the composite iterative learning control approach achieves better control results than pure feedback contro! was obtained for varying references. The convergence property of the closed-loop system was rigorously studied and the saturation problem was also addressed in the controller. The designed composite iterative learning control strategy is successfully employed in an atomic force microscope system, with both simulation and experimental results clearly demonstrating its superior performance. 展开更多

When exposing the human ear to active noise sources in this striking distance, the ensuring of a safe sound pressure level is vital. In feedback systems, this is coupled with the stability of the closed control loop; stable controller design is thus essential. However, changes in the control path during run-time can cause the stable control system to become unstable, resulting in an overdrive of the speakers in the headphones. This paper proposes a method, which enables the real-time analysis of the current system state and if necessary stabilizes the closed loop while maintaining the active noise reduction. This is achieved by estimating and evaluating the open loop behavior with an adaptive filter and subsequently limiting the controller gain in respect to the stability margin. 展开更多

This paper considers the problem of optimal multi-objective trajectory design for autonomous rendezvous. Total velocity cost and relative state robustness of close-looped control are selected as the objective functions. Based on relative dynamics equations, the state equations and measurement equations for angles-only relative navigation between spacecraffs are set forth. According to the method of linear covariance analysis, the close-looped control covariance of the true relative state from the reference relative state is analyzed, and the objective functions of relative state robustness are formulated. Considering the total velocity cost and the relative state robustness, the multi-objective optimization algorithm of NSGA-II is employed to solve this multi-impulsive rendezvous problem. Lastly, the validity of the objective functions and the covariance results are demonstrated through 1 00 times Monte Carlo simulation. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel design method of force rebalance control for the sense mode of micromachined vibratory gyroscopes.Specific theoretical deductions are performed to identify a precise linear model of the open loop system of the sense mode,which is crucial for the PI controller design.The frequency responses obtained by experimental tests agree well with those calculated with the theoretical model,indicating the accuracy of the theoretical analyses.Experimental results demonstrate that the bandwidth of the closed loop is extended to 94.8 Hz from 2.3 Hz in the open loop and the quadrature signal is suppressed by about 64 dBV in the closed loop system.The overshoot and stable time in the step response of the closed loop system are measured to be about 15% and 35 ms,respectively.The mode-splitting gyroscope with the closed loop controlled sense mode achieves a scale factor of 41.0 mV/deg/s with nonlinearity of 0.09% and asymmetry of 1%,and a bias instability of 4.0 °/h with angle random walk of 0.171 deg/h1/2. 展开更多

Enough progresses have been made in algorithm development, mesh generation and parallel computing that these methods are on the verge of being applied in a production design environment. In the one-gravity environment on the ground, the simulation of the contact process of two flying objects in the zero-gravity environment of space has been a challenging issue since humans first explored space by flying objects. Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation is an important and effective method to test the usability, reliability, and safety of real docking mechanisms in space. There are four main issues for HIL simulation systems: Design of simulators capable of high frequency response, high motion precision, high velocity, and rapid acceleration; compensation for simulation distortion; design of a control model for the HIL simulation process; and experimental verification. Here, we propose a novel HIL simulator system with a 6-DOF 3-3 perpendicular parallel mechanism and a 3-DOF 3-PRS parallel mechanism; discover the principle of simulation distortion; present distortion compensation models for the force measurement system, dynamic response, and structural dynamics of the simulator; and provide a control model for the HIL simulation process. Two kinds of experiments were performed on the pas- sive-undamped elastic rod and the docking mechanisms to test their performances and to verify the effectiveness and usability of the HIL simulator. The HIL simulation system proposed in this paper is useful for developing space docking, berthing, refu- eling, repairing, upgrading, transporting, and rescuing technologies. 展开更多

This paper extends the unknown control coefficients with lower and upper constant bounds to the ones which may take arbitrarily large and /or small values.Since the existing methods are no longer applicable and the technical obstacles caused by the extensions are essential,new control design scheme should be exploited to the global practical tracking.By the approaches of Nussbaum-gain and adding a power integrator,the authors successfully propose the design scheme of the adaptive practical tracking controller for the systems.It is shown that the designed controller guarantees that all the closed-loop system states are bounded and the tracking error becomes prescribed arbitrarily small after a finite time. 展开更多
