Subtitle translation serves as an important part for the audience to obtain the best movie-watching experience and it is also one of the most complex mental activities. Psychological research shows that the cognitive thinking process of humans is conscious-unconscious-conscious, where the conscious and unconscious minds collaborate and dynamically interact to guide the subject’s activities. For the purpose of promoting the interdisciplinary study of translation, and enriching the subtitle translation research, it analyzes the subtitle translation of Sherlock from the perspective of conscious and unconscious. It discusses the impact of conscious and unconscious translation decisions in the process of creating a viewing experience and dealing with the visibility and invisibility of aesthetic differences in language and culture between English and Chinese.展开更多
