In the generalized continuum mechanics(GCM)theory framework,asymmetric wave equations encompass the characteristic scale parameters of the medium,accounting for microstructure interactions.This study integrates two th...In the generalized continuum mechanics(GCM)theory framework,asymmetric wave equations encompass the characteristic scale parameters of the medium,accounting for microstructure interactions.This study integrates two theoretical branches of the GCM,the modified couple stress theory(M-CST)and the one-parameter second-strain-gradient theory,to form a novel asymmetric wave equation in a unified framework.Numerical modeling of the asymmetric wave equation in a unified framework accurately describes subsurface structures with vital implications for subsequent seismic wave inversion and imaging endeavors.However,employing finite-difference(FD)methods for numerical modeling may introduce numerical dispersion,adversely affecting the accuracy of numerical modeling.The design of an optimal FD operator is crucial for enhancing the accuracy of numerical modeling and emphasizing the scale effects.Therefore,this study devises a hybrid scheme called the dung beetle optimization(DBO)algorithm with a simulated annealing(SA)algorithm,denoted as the SA-based hybrid DBO(SDBO)algorithm.An FD operator optimization method under the SDBO algorithm was developed and applied to the numerical modeling of asymmetric wave equations in a unified framework.Integrating the DBO and SA algorithms mitigates the risk of convergence to a local extreme.The numerical dispersion outcomes underscore that the proposed SDBO algorithm yields FD operators with precision errors constrained to 0.5‱while encompassing a broader spectrum coverage.This result confirms the efficacy of the SDBO algorithm.Ultimately,the numerical modeling results demonstrate that the new FD method based on the SDBO algorithm effectively suppresses numerical dispersion and enhances the accuracy of elastic wave numerical modeling,thereby accentuating scale effects.This result is significant for extracting wavefield perturbations induced by complex microstructures in the medium and the analysis of scale effects.展开更多

Here, the c...The enamines, iminium ions, and oxazolidinones are thought to be the key intermediates in the proline-catalyzed reactions of aldehydes or ketones, but there is an extensive contro- versy about their roles. Here, the corresponding transition states connecting any two of the three kinds of species are located at the wB97XD/6-311++G** level of theory. The calcula- tions demonstrate that the oxazolidinones are the predominant species in both the gas phase and solvents; there exists tautomeric equilibrium among these species and the equilibriums are controlled by the employed solvents and temperature in the reaction. These results demonstrate that the concentration and role of the mentioned species are controlled by the employed solvent and temperature. A new reaction pathway is presented herein for the trans- formation between iminium ions and oxazolidinones through iminium ion-water complex and oxazolidinone-water complex. The calculations demonstrate that the rate-limiting step in proline-catalyzed Mannich reaction between acetaldehyde/keteones and N-Boc imines is the formation of the C-C bond rather than the intermediates tautomerization. These calculations rationalize the available experimental observations and can be valuable in optimizing the experimental conditions of asymmetric organic-catalyzed reactions of aldehydes or ketones.展开更多

An algebra method is used to produce the initial grids in each area. And the girds are optimized by elliptical differential equation method. Then C-O-H zonal patched grids around multi-element airfoils are produced automatically and efficiently. A time accurate finite-volume integration method is used to solve the compressible laminar and turbulent Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations on the grids. Wet etching characteristics of cubic GaN (c GaN) thin films grown on GaAs(001) by metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) are investigated.The samples are etched in HCl,H 3PO 4,KOH aqueous solutions,and molten KOH...Wet etching characteristics of cubic GaN (c GaN) thin films grown on GaAs(001) by metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) are investigated.The samples are etched in HCl,H 3PO 4,KOH aqueous solutions,and molten KOH at temperatures in the range of 90~300℃.It is found that different solution produces different etch figure on the surfaces of a sample.KOH based solutions produce rectangular pits rather than square pits.The etch pits elongate in 1 0] direction,indicating asymmetric etching behavior in the two orthogonal <110> directions.An explanation based on relative reactivity of the various crystallographic planes is employed to interpret qualitatively the asymmetric etching behavior.In addition,it is found that KOH aqueous solution would be more suitable than molten KOH and the two acids for the evaluation of stacking faults in c GaN epilayers. direction,indicating asymmetric etching behavior in the two orthogonal <110> directions.An explanation based on relative reactivity of the various crystallographic planes is employed to interpret qualitatively the asymmetric etching behavior.In addition,it is found that KOH aqueous solution would be more suitable than molten KOH and the two acids for the evaluation of stacking faults in c GaN epilayers.展开更多

Dispersion analysis demonstrates that omitting these small coefficients can retain approximately the same order accuracy but greatly reduce computational costs. Then, we introduce a mirrorimage symmetric boundary condition to improve IFDMs accuracy and stability and adopt the hybrid absorbing boundary condition (ABC) to reduce unwanted reflections from the model boundary. Last, we give elastic wave modeling examples for homogeneous and heterogeneous models to demonstrate the advantages of the proposed scheme.展开更多

Low-lying electronic states of the lutetium dimer (Lu2) were studied based on density functional theory (DFT) using ten different density functionals together with three different relativistic effective core pseud...Low-lying electronic states of the lutetium dimer (Lu2) were studied based on density functional theory (DFT) using ten different density functionals together with three different relativistic effective core pseudopotentials (RECPs). Relative state energies, equilibrium bond lengths, vibrational frequencies, and ground-state dissociation energies were evaluated. It was found that the ground state is a triplet state irrespective of the type of functional and RECP used. This result is in contrast with a previous DFT calculation which gave a singlet ground state for Lu2. By comparing with the high-level ab initio and available experimental results, it is evident that the hybrid-GGA functionals combined with the Stuttgart smallcore RECP yield the best overall agreement for the properties under study. The effects of Hartree-Fock exchange in B3LYP functional on the calculated bond length and dissociation energy of the ground state were examined, and rationalized in terms of 5d participation in Lu-Lu covalent bonding.展开更多

Although learning curves in surgery are a recognized problem, the impact of surgical learning...Surgical innovation and pioneering are important for improving patient outcome, but can be associated with learning curves. Although learning curves in surgery are a recognized problem, the impact of surgical learning curves is increasing, due to increasing complexity of innovative surgical procedures, the rapid rate at which new interventions are implemented and a decrease in relative effectiveness of new interventions compared to old interventions. For minimally invasive esophagectomy(MIE), there is now robust evidence that implementation can lead to significant learning associated morbidity(morbidity during a learning curve, that could have been avoided if patients were operated by surgeons that have completed the learning curve). This article provides an overview of the evidence of the impact of learning curves after implementation of MIE. In addition, caveats for implementation and available evidence regarding factors that are important for safe implementation and safe pioneering of MIE are discussed.展开更多

Based on the cumulat...The aim of this work is to propose a 3D FE model of a theoretical assembling straight bevel gear pair to analyze the contact fatigue on the tooth surface and the bending fatigue in the tooth root. Based on the cumulative fatigue criterion and the stress-life equation, the key meshing states of the gear pair were investigated for the contact fatigue and the bending fatigue. Then, the reliability of the proposed model was proved by comparing the calculation result with the simulation result. Further study was performed to analyze the variation of the contact fatigue stress and the bending fatigue stress under different loads. Furthermore, the roles of the driving pinion and the driven gear pair were evaluated in the fatigue life of the straight bevel gear pair and the main fatigue failure mode was determined for the significant gear. The results show that the fatigue failure of the driving pinion is the main fatigue failure for the straight bevel gear pair and the bending fatigue failure is the main fatigue failure for the driving pinion.展开更多

Making use of these characterizations, we extend A^P(Ω,dvs) to the weighted Bergman spaces Aα^p,B(Ω,dvs) in a very natural way for 1 〈 p 〈 4-∞ and any real number s, that is, -∞ 〈 s 〈 +∞. This unified treatment covers some classical Bergman spaces, Besov spaces and Bloch spaces. The scheme on α priori adapted meshes is constructed using a majorant function for the singular component of the discrete solution, which allows us to find α priori a subdomain where the computed solution requires a further improvement. This subdomain is defined by the perturbation parameter ε, the step-size of a uniform mesh in χ, and also by the required accuracy of the discrete solution and the prescribed number of refinement iterations K for improving the solution. To solve the discrete problems aimed at the improvement of the solution, we use uniform meshes on the subdomains. The error of the numerical solution depends weakly on the parameter ε. The scheme converges almost ε-uniformly, precisely, under the condition N^-1 = o (ε^v), where N denotes the number of nodes in the spatial mesh, and the value v = v(K) can be chosen arbitrarily small for suitable K.展开更多

文摘Starting from a discrete spectral problem, a hierarchy of integrable lattice soliton equations is derived. It is shown that the hierarchy is completely integrable in the Liouville sense and possesses discrete bi-Hamiltonian structure. A new integrable symplectic map and finite-dimensional integrable systems are given by nonlinearization method. The binary Bargmann constraint gives rise to a Biicklund transformation for the resulting integrable lattice equations. At last, conservation laws of the hierarchy are presented.

文摘On bounded symmetric domain Ω of C^n, we investigate the properties of functions in weighted Bergman spaces A^P(Ω,dvs) for 0 〈 p ≤ +∞ and -1 〈 s 〈 4-∞. Based on the estimate of Bergman kernel, we obtain some characterizations of functions in A^P(Ω, dvs) in terms of a class of linear operators D^αB. Making use of these characterizations, we extend A^P(Ω,dvs) to the weighted Bergman spaces Aα^p,B(Ω,dvs) in a very natural way for 1 〈 p 〈 4-∞ and any real number s, that is, -∞ 〈 s 〈 +∞. This unified treatment covers some classical Bergman spaces, Besov spaces and Bloch spaces. Meanwhile, the boundedness of Bergman projection operators on Aα^P,β(Ω, dvs) and the dual of Aα^P,B(Ω, dvs) are given.
文摘Based on the total time derivative along the trajectory of the system, the unified symmetry of nonholonomic mechanical system with non-Chetaev's type constraints is studied. The definition and criterion of the unified symmetry of nonholonomic mechanical systems with non-Ohetaev's type constraints are given. A new conserved quantity, as well as the Noether conserved quantity and the Hojman conserved quantity, deduced from the unified symmetry, is obtained. Two examples are given to illustrate the application of the results.

文摘Hail is one of the important weather disasters that affects the Beijing-Tianjin(BT) region.To better understand and to improve the forecasting of hail events over the BT region,the precursor weather conditions for hail based on 30 previous hail events were derived.It was found that the high-level trough and low-level cold front over the Mongolian region,the accumulated convective available potential energy,the decrease of the height of the 0℃-isotherm in the morning,and the persistence and intensification of these factors from morning to afternoon are valuable clues for forecasting the occurrence of hail events over the BT region.
文摘A boundary value problem is considered for a singularly perturbed parabolic convection-diffusion equation; we construct a finite difference scheme on α priori (sequentially) adapted meshes and study its convergence. The scheme on α priori adapted meshes is constructed using a majorant function for the singular component of the discrete solution, which allows us to find α priori a subdomain where the computed solution requires a further improvement. This subdomain is defined by the perturbation parameter ε, the step-size of a uniform mesh in χ, and also by the required accuracy of the discrete solution and the prescribed number of refinement iterations K for improving the solution. To solve the discrete problems aimed at the improvement of the solution, we use uniform meshes on the subdomains. The error of the numerical solution depends weakly on the parameter ε. The scheme converges almost ε-uniformly, precisely, under the condition N^-1 = o (ε^v), where N denotes the number of nodes in the spatial mesh, and the value v = v(K) can be chosen arbitrarily small for suitable K.
