It is very useful in overcoming non-linear dynamic behavior, uncertain and time-varying parameters, un-modeled dynamics, and couples between the automatic turbulence control (ATC) and the automatic acid temperature control (AATC) with varying parameters during the operation process. The quasi-cascade control system of inner and outer loop self-adaptive fuzzy PID controller was built, which could effectively control the pickling speed of plates and strips. The simulated results and real application indicate that the plates and strips acid pickling speed control system has good performances of adaptively tracking the parameter variations and anti-disturbances, which ensures the match of acid pickling temperature and turbulence of flowing with acid pickling speed, improving the surface quality of plates and strips acid pickling, and energy efficiency.展开更多

The typical fuzzy PID control system structure was investigated, and a simplified fuzzy PID control system was taken the place of the complex three-dimension fuzzy controller. Based on the parameter relation between fuzzy controller and normal PID controller, a common method of parameter adjustment of PID controller was summed up and the computer simulation was realized. This system can overcome the problems of large delay, nonlinear, poor running en- vironment and great load change in the full-mechanized coal face. To reduce the torsional vibration of the hybrid construction machinery complex shafting, torsional vibration active control was proposed. The three-mass model of coaxial shafting of hybrid construction machinery was established. The PID control and the fuzzy sliding mode control were chosen to weaken torsional vibration by controlling the motor speed and torque. The simulation results show that the fuzzy sliding mode control has 12% overshoot of the PID control when the engine torque changes. It can run both static and dynamic experiments, and its demand for controlling is high. Because it adopts traditional PI control presently, and is mainly used for static experiments, its dynamic response is bad. Therefore, this paper applies adaptive fuzzy control, which follows dynamic movement quite well to the hotbox device. At the same time, considering the characteristic that the stable state quality is high within little error of traditional PI control, it combines the adaptive fuzzy control with quantity factor and proportion factor serf-adjusting online and PI control to be a new double mode control using different control models at different conditions. The results of hotbox controlling experiments indicate that this control system is better than PI control or single fuzzy control both at response and precision.展开更多

A fuzzy-immune PID controller was soft start (HVSS) device of a belt conveyor, a fuzzy-immune con- designed based on immune feedback regulations and adaptability of the fuzzy logic inference. Using MATLAB software, we simulated the controller and compared the HVSS device with a conven- tional PID controller and a fuzzy PID controller. The simulation results show that the controller is not only very reliable as a PID controller, robust and requires only a short adjustment time of fuzzy control, but possesses also capacity of global optimization of the immune algorithm. To verify our theoretical analysis and simulation, a HVSS test-bed was developed. The experimental results demonstrate that the fuzzy-immune PID controller managed to start the belt conveyor softly and to follow an S-shaped curve while the output speed correctly followed the preset speed with only small fluctuations in speed.展开更多

A control strategy for a shearer height adjusting system based on a mathematical model of the height adjusting mechanism is proposed. It considers the non-linearity and time variations in the control process and uses Dynamic Fuzzy Neural Networks (D-FNN). The inverse characteristics of the system are studied. An adaptive on-line learning and error compensation mechanism guarantees sys- tem real-time performance and reliability. Parameters from a German Eickhoff SL500 shearer were used with Maflab/Simulink to simulate a height adjusting control system. Simulation shows that the trace error of a D-FNN controller is smaller than that of a PID controller. Also, the D-FNN control scheme has good generalization and tracking performance, which allow it to satisfy the needs of a shearer height adjusting system.展开更多

A flotation column is a nonlinear, multi-variable problem with changeable parameters that traditional methods have difficulty controlling. We have applied fuzzy control methods to the flotation column and tested the performance of the design by Matlab/Simulink simulation. The simulations show that level control in the flotation column becomes smoother and more rapid with the fuzzy controller. Compared to PID control methods the overshoot in valve position, the adjustment time, and the robustness of the controller are all improved. This indicates that it is suitable to model fuzzy controllers in applications for the study of automatic control of flotation column.展开更多

In order to solve the problem, the controller was designed by employing the universal approximation property of fuzzy logic system, the advantage of Nussbaum function, and using multiple sliding mode control algorithm based on the recursive technique. In the last step of designing, a nonsingular terminal sliding mode was utilized to drive the last state of the system to converge in a finite period of time, and high-order sliding mode control law was designed to eliminate the chattering and make the system robust. The simulation results showed that the controller designed here could track a desired course fast and accurately. It also exhibited strong robustness peculiarly to system, and had better adaptive ability than traditional PID control algorithms.展开更多
