Methods: The level of erythrocyte aggregation(Optical density assay) and deformation(Laser diffraction assay) were measured in 20 cases of cord blood, 115 cases of different age healthy adult. Results: The erythrocyte aggregation in cord blood group( 7.76 ± 0.80 ) were higher( P < 0.05 ) than those in middle age and youth control( 6.85 ± 0.82 , 6.77 ± 0.81 ). Erythrocyte aggregation and deformation in between other groups can be compared no significance. Conclusion: Newborns have good ability of erythrocyte aggregation and deformation; The age increase has no marked influence on erythrocyte aggregation and deformation of health adults. The study is conducive to distinguish abnormal and pathologic erythrocyte rheology in clinic.展开更多
