It provides an in-depth analysis of the metaphorical expressions in the original text and their counterparts in the Russian translation. Structural metaphors present significant challenges in cross-cultural translation, as translators confront numerous obstacles arising from the substantial differences between Chinese and Russian cultures and languages. The aim of this paper is to highlight the challenges faced during the translation process and to examine the cognitive differences that contribute to these challenges, ultimately fostering the appreciation and understanding of “A Dream of Red Mansions” among Russian readers and enhancing its presence in the Russian cultural sphere.展开更多
