The subsequent deprotonation of G+' and A+' can invoke DNA damage or interrupt hole transfer in DNA. However, compared with intensive reports for G+, studies on the deprotonation of A+ are still limited at present. Herein, we investigate the deprotonation behavior of A+. by time-resolved laser flash photolysis. The deprotonation product of A(N6-H)' is observed and the deprotonation rate constant, (2.0±0.1)×10 7 s-1, is obtained at room temperature. Further, the deprotonation rate con- stants of A+. are measured at temperatures varying from 280 K to 300 K, from which the activation energy for the N6-H deprotonation is determined to be (17.1±1.0) kJ/mol by Arrhenius equation. In addition, by incorporating the aqueous solvent effect, we perform density functional theory calculations for A+ deprotonation in free base and in duplex DNA. Together with experimental results, the deprotonation mechanisms of A+ in free base and in duplex DNA are revealed, which are of fundamental importance for understanding the oxidative DNA damage and designing DNA-based electrochemical devices.展开更多

The resulting modified montmorillonites were characterized by the FTIR, XRD, TEM, and TG/DTG techniques. And minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was used to investigate antibacterial activity. The results show that the phosphonium salts are intercalated into Na-MMT, and the basal spacing of P-MMTs is enlarged with the increase of phosphonium salt content or the growth of alkyl chain length. DDTBP-MMT-3 with 19.83% (mass fraction of dodecyl tributylphosphonium salts, displays excellent thermal stability and long-acting antibacterial activity.展开更多

The bamboo kraft pulps were treated by the 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene auto-oxidation method or the 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene auto-oxidation combined with anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid sodium salt to show the ef-fect of the superoxide anion radicals during the oxygen delignification of bamboo kraft pulp and the enhancing af-fect of anthraquinone compounds as an additive on delignification. The results indicated that the superoxide anion radicals could react with lignin and remove it from pulp with negligible damage on cellulose, and the an-thraquinone-2-sulfonic acid sodium salt could facilitate the generation of superoxide anion radical to enhance delig-nification of pulps. The oxygen delignification selectivity could be improved using the 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene auto-oxidation system combined with anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid sodium salt.展开更多

After sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPcS) being supported on these solid bases, the catalytic performance of these catalysts was evaluated by means of mercaptan oxidation reaction. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), CO2 temperature-programmed desorption (CO2-TPD), FTIR spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Investigation was focused on the effect of Fe2O3 on activity, crystal structure, basicity, and stability of the catalyst and also on the role of Fe2O3 in the mercaptan oxidation processes. Test results have shown that the Fe2O3/MgO/Al2O3- CoPcS catalyst has a higher initial activity and a much longer service life than the MgO/Al2O3-CoPcS catalyst. The increased types of basic sites coupled with an enhanced oxidation ability resulted from the addition of Fe2O3 have contributed to the improvement of the catalytic activity of the MgO/Al2O3-CoPcS catalyst.展开更多
