Experiments with these three major HAB species under combinations of different salinities (10, 18, 25, 30, 35) and temperatures (19℃, 25℃) were carried out. The results showed that S. costatum successfully competed with the other two species at salinities of 18, 25, 30, and 35 at temperatures of 19℃ and 25℃. However, H. carterae showed its advantage at low salinity of 10 and became the single dominant species at salinity 10 and 25℃. A. tamarense could not compete successfully with the other two species especially at low salinities. However, it could remain at low density in the presence of higher densities of other algae.展开更多

Methods: One hundred and twenty patients were randomized into two groups. The 68 cases in the treatment group received intensive warm needling therapy, and 52 cases in the control group was treated by small needle-knife therapy. Results: The therapeutic effects were similar between the two groups. A follow-up study showed that the relapse rate was lower in the treatment group. Conclusion: Both small knife-needle and intensive warm needling therapy are effective in treating the third lumbar transverse process syndrome. But, intensive warm needling therapy has easier operation and lower relapse rate.展开更多

Methods Forty-six cases were treated with warming needle moxibustion at Yaotu (腰突, extra point, the same segment of injured disc herniation), regular acupuncture at Yaoyan (腰眼 EX-B 7), Zhibian (秩边BL 54), Huantiao (环跳 GB 30), Weizhong (委中BL 40), Yanglingquan (阳陵泉 GB 34) and electroacupuncture at Yaoto (腰突), Zhibian (秩边 BL 54), Yanglingquan (阳陵泉 GB 34). The treatment was given once a day, 10 treatments made up one session, and the therapeutic effect was assessed after 2 sessions of treatment. Results After the treatment, 31 cases (67.4%) were cured, 14 cases (30.4%) were effective and i case (2.2%) was failed. The total effective rate was 97.8%. Conclusion The warming needle moxibustion combined with electroacupuncture has obvious therapeutic effect on postoperative pain in the waist and leg of lumbar disc herniation.展开更多

Methods: A total of 90 LDH cases were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 45 in each group. Cases in the observation group received tuina and warm needling moxibustion, whereas cases in the control group received tuina manipulation alone. Results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 88.9%, versus 75.6% in the control group, showing a statistical significance (P〈0.01). Conclusion: Tuina in combination with warm needling moxibustion works better than tuina manipulation alone for LDH.展开更多
