Engine noise source identification is essential for making noise reduction strategies.Predominant noise sources of engines are normally identified as some cover components such as oil pan, valve cover and front gear c...Engine noise source identification is essential for making noise reduction strategies.Predominant noise sources of engines are normally identified as some cover components such as oil pan, valve cover and front gear cover etc. The radiated noise sources of a 6-cylinder construction diesel engine are identified with two methods-lead covering technique and surface vibration technique,and the ranking of the major cover on the basis of acoustic power is presented in this paper. Firstly the sound power level of these cover components and their contributions to the total acoustic power are determined with lead covering method under hemi-anechoic condition. Then the vibration characteristics of these components are investigated. The sound power level of various components is predicted via the mean square area average vibration. Both results basically agree well and verify the effectiveness of both techniques in engineering field.展开更多

A model was established, consisting of four part: source estimation, environmental fate analysis, exposure analysis and risk assessment. The human health risk, ecological risk and total risk of lead emissions were assessed. The factors were estimated to indicate the environmental decrease and exposure probability. Of all the 1887 t emissions in China in 2010(quantified in the previous work), it is turned out 1.3 t reached human bodies(0.9 mg/ca), and 2.7 t reached the ecosystem. Lead mainly came from the Use stage for the source while lead causing risk mainly came from the Waste Management Recycling and Production stages. As for chemical forms, PbO contributed most to the human health risk and PbSO_4 contributed most to the ecological risk. PbSO_4, PbO and Pb altogether contributed 71% to the total risk, indicating these three chemicals should be taken priority for the risk management.展开更多

Then, the mineral sources and their characteristics were discussed based on the classical lead isotope discriminating model. The results show that the lead isotope ratios of206Pb/204Pb,207Pb/204Pb, and208Pb/204Pb range from 17.478 to 18.638, 15.440 to 15.858, and 37.556 to 39.501, respectively. According to Zartman lead model, the ore lead contains the upper crust composition; however, the granite does not provide all ore leads, and other material sources exist. Obviously, the ore deposit belongs to the result of the combined effect of crust?mantle. The source rocks are characterized by a certain degree of similarity with the island arc material. Moreover, its distant origin in the upper and lower crusts may be related to the subduction island arc material or oceanic crust. The mantle-derived material may have a certain status in the source region. Meanwhile, based on the lead isotope three-dimensional topology projection vectors, the ore leads are concentrated in zoneA, which indicates the characteristics of Yangtze lead isotope province and a possible genetic relationship with Yangtze block.展开更多
Sedimentation of fine-grained deposits on coastal zones and continental shelves are important because of the association with chemical pollutants, and the implication to the impact on biological processes, the stratig...Sedimentation of fine-grained deposits on coastal zones and continental shelves are important because of the association with chemical pollutants, and the implication to the impact on biological processes, the stratigraphic correlations, and changes in sedimentary environments. The Yellow Sea continental shelf receives large quantities of sediment from the Huanghe (Yellow) River. Unfortunately, little attention has been yet paid to the sedimentation on the shallow shelf and its features, and the vertical sediment flux in the area is poorly understood. In this study, nine cores were collected in northern Yellow Sea by the R/V Science 1 in September, 1998 and 1999 to examine the sedimentation rate, sediment flux and the provenance with ^210Pb analysis. The 2^210Pb activity profiles showed that the vertical sediment flux ranged from 0.06 to 1.18 g/cm^2·a in the region. In central part of the area, there was a patch of fine-grained mud, with the flux below 0.33 g/cm^2·a. Most profiles were featured in two-segment model. Differences in the profiles reflected spatial and temporal variations in hydrodynamic and sedimentary processes. In order to determine the provenance and sedimentary setting in the area, the geochemistry of Ca, Fe, Sr, Cu, Ti and Rb in 11 surficial sediment samples were studied, which showed that in the central northern Yellow Sea, the mud deposit was from multi-source but mainly from the Huanghe River.展开更多
The trends of distribution,translocation and seasonal change of heavy metal Pb were studied based on the surface and bottom water sampling in Jiaozhou Bay in 1979,and compared with those in 1990's.The results show...The trends of distribution,translocation and seasonal change of heavy metal Pb were studied based on the surface and bottom water sampling in Jiaozhou Bay in 1979,and compared with those in 1990's.The results showed that the source of Pb in the bay was from wastewater and sewage in the east of Jiaozhou Bay from ocean vessels.Pb concentration was higher in spring and lower in summer and autumn,and remained stable through sedimentation in the bottom layer.The overall water quality was good in 1970's.Compared with the environmental monitoring data of 1995-1999,Pb pollution had become serious.Therefore,more efforts should be made to protect the bay from Pb pollution.展开更多

Then numerical analysis of the system was carried out, in which the improved Wen analytic model was used to simulate the hysteretic law of transducers. The results show that the structural system can transform the partial earthquake energy to hydraulic energy ; furthermore, the effect of structural control can reach or be close to that of the LRB isolation system. The agreements between numerical analysis results and those of shaking table tests demonstrate the accuracy of the numerical model.展开更多
