The essence of the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" is to give equal considerations to both the East and the West, paying equal attentions to the North and the South, while balancing the land and the sea and connecting domestic with foreign. This is the innovation and priority of China's peripheral diplomacy as well as a strategic support and tactical guarantee of the "China Dream". The "Silk Road Economic Belt" is constructed to make history serve reality; it exchanges economy for politics, space on land for time at sea, and balances a weakness in sea power with superiority in land power. Instead of simply replicating the Silk Road, the "Silk Road Economic Belt" possesses a broader realm and a richer context. Moreover, this is China's ultimate strategy and profound tactical conception facing toward the future.展开更多

"China Dream", was the sublimation of university ideological and political education, ever advancing with the time, the "China Dream" tightly integrated into the university ideological and political education, strives to cultivate the endeavor of having both ability and political integrity, and having the national feelings of dedication. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with data that was conducted in Chingola City, Zambia, and Hangzhou City, China, using an online survey between September 1, 2023 and February 28, 2024. The subjects were divided into two groups (the China group and the Zambia group) according to their nationality. Results: A total of 210 participants were included through a questionnaire survey, 104 from China and 106 from Zambia. In terms of nutrient supplementation and whether to choose takeout weekly, 100% of Chinese pregnant women chose yes, while 100% of Zambian pregnant women chose no (P 0.05). The proportion of pregnant women in the China group choosing moderate or intense activities was higher than that in the Zambia group. In terms of daily exercise time, the proportion of Chinese pregnant women choosing 13 - 30 minutes or 30 - 60 minutes was significantly higher than that of Zambian pregnant women (P Conclusion: From the findings in our study, it can be observed that although pregnancy is an experience that many women may go through, lifestyle habits during pregnancy can vary from culture to culture or ethnicity.展开更多

The present study aimed to update the surveillance of NPC survival in southern China, and investigate the survival disparities between sexes within this patient population. Methods: Patients diagnosed with primary and invasive NPC between 2000 and 2015 were included in this study. Data on demographics, diagnosis, and follow-up to December 2020 were collected. Patients were stratified by diagnosis period, sex, and age at diagnosis. Survival analysis employed cohort and Life Table methods, Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank tests, and Cox regression. Results: The study included 32,901 patients, of whom 69.6% were males. The overall 5-year survival rate rose from 69.6% in 2000-2003 to 83.3% in 2013-2015, with a consistent average increase of 3.3% every 3 years. For males, the 5-year survival rate increased from 66.3% to 82.0%, faster than females. Kaplan-Meier curves demonstrated a significantly higher survival rate for females than males, and subgroup analysis confirmed this advantage. The Cox proportional hazards model confirmed the lower mortality risk for females (HR 0.75, 95% CI: 0.71 - 0.78), patients with younger ages at diagnosis, and patients diagnosed in more recent years (All P Conclusions: The 5-year survival rate for NPC patients in southern China has significantly and steadily improved from 2000 to 2015, indicating the improved quality of cancer care in China. The survival advantage of female patients is not limited to younger patients but is also observed in postmenopausal patients, despite the gradual narrowing of the gender gap.展开更多

Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of cost. Previous cost-of-illness (COI) studies have already provided some useful information on the economic burden that schizophrenia brought to global society, including China. Objectives: This systematic review aims to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the economic burden of schizophrenia in China. Method: A literature review was performed through CNKI, Wanfang, CQVIP, EMBASE and Medline databases to identify COI studies published between 2010-2024. The primary outcome of this review was societal cost per schizophrenia patient by cost component, including direct medical costs, non-medical costs and indirect medical costs. Results: 14 COI studies in schizophrenia were identified, covering 7 municipalities and 8 provinces of China. The annual societal cost per patient ranged from 10,765 CNY in Zhejiang province to 406,382 CNY in Xuancheng city (Anhui province). The ratio of indirect cost ranged from 66.6% to 96.8%. The main cost drivers were the productivity losses. There was an enormous heterogeneity between societal cost estimations that could be interpreted by the difference in economic state and regional healthcare resource allocation. Conclusions: This review highlights the large economic burden of schizophrenia in varied areas in China. Substantial cost variation was observed both nationwide and globally, which may be caused by the varied economic situation and healthcare policy. Limitation of this review was summarized, which may provide a useful guidance for the future COI studies in China.展开更多

It has a significant impact on people’s production, life, and health. This study focuses on large-scale haze weather that happened in eastern China in late January 2021. The research uses multi-party data and synoptic analysis methods to analyze the occurrence, evolution, and end of the haze weather. The polar vortex, the change of the atmospheric circulation, the change of the cold air force, the temperature and humidity, and the rain and snow weather are the important reasons for this weathering process. It can be used for reference in future research on haze weather.展开更多

Innovating and strengthening ideological and political education for nursing students, enhancing their skills in serving the people, is a significant political task for medical universities. Against the backdrop of the “Healthy China Strategy,” how to effectively improve nursing students’ professional competencies, integrate life education, medical humanities education, and general ideological and political education, and utilize life education to construct a more suitable ideological and political education system for nursing students, in order to better establish correct worldviews, values, and professional outlooks, are urgent practical issues that need to be addressed in ideological and political education in medical universities. This article takes life education as an entry point and focuses on integrating it with the internalization and unification of ideological and political education courses, aiming to explore the possibilities and new pathways for integrating life education into the ideological and political education of nursing students in the new era.展开更多

We discussed the relation of Pn velocity variation to Moho depth, Earths heat flow, distribution of Cenozoic volcanic rock and the result of rock experiment under high pressure and high temperature. The result of quantitative analysis indicates that Pn velocity is positively correlated with the crust thickness and negatively correlated with the Earths heat flow. Two linear regression equations, one between Pn velocity and crust thickness, and the other between Pn velocity and heat flow, were obtained. The rate of variation of Pn veloc-ity vP with pressure P, Pv/p, estimated from the velocity variation with crust thickness Hv/p, is close to the result obtained from the rock experiment under high pressure and high temperature. If the effect of crust thick-ness on Pn velocity is deducted from the velocity variation, then the low Pn velocity beneath Qinghai-Xizang pla-teau is more notable. The low Pn velocity regions well agree with the Cenozoic volcanic rock. In the several re-gions with significant anisotropy, the direction of fast Pn velocity is consistent with the orientation of maximum principal crustal compressive stress, and also with the direction of present-day crustal movement. It indicates that the fast Pn velocity direction may be related to the deformation or flow of top mantle material along the direction of maximum pressure.展开更多
