It is revealed that CS p-branes are located at the isolated zeros of the vector field φ(x), and the topological structure of CS p-branes is characterized by the winding number of the φ-mappings. Furthermore, the Nambu-Goto action and the equation of motion for multi CS p-branes are obtained.展开更多

In this paper, we obtain the slowly rotating charge solutions from the Weyl double copy for the Kerr black hole with small Chern-Simons correction. Based on the Weyl double copy relation, for the Petrov type D solution in Chern-Simons modified gravity, we find the additional correction to the electromagnetic field strength tensor of the rotating charge. For the Petrov type I solution, we find that the additional electromagnetic field strength tensors have external sources, while the total sources vanish at the leading order.展开更多

As a consequence, it is shown that the R/Z part of the analytically defined η invariant of Atiyah-Patodi-Singer for a Dirac operator on an odd dimensional closed spin manifold can be expressed purely geometrically through a stable Chern-Simons current on a higher dimensional sphere. As a preliminary application, the author discusses the relation with the Atiyah-Patodi-Singer R/Z index theorem for unitary flat vector bundles, and proves an R refinement in the case where the Dirac operator is replaced by the Signature operator.展开更多

The first achievement is to establish the formula CS(e) - CS(e) = degA, where e and e are two (global) frames of M, and A : M → SO(3) is the "difference" map. An interesting phenomenon is that the "jumps" of the Chern-Simons integrals for various frames of many 3-manifolds are at least two, instead of one. The second purpose is to give an explicit representation of CS(e+) and CS(e_), where e+ and e_ are the "left" and "right" quaternionic frames on M3 induced from an immersion M^3 → E^4, respectively. Consequently we find many metrics on S^3 (Berger spheres) so that they can not be conformally embedded in E^4.展开更多

Combining the Gauss law and Coulomb gauge consistency condition, the difference between the Schwinger angular momentum and canonical angular momentum of the system is found to be an anomalous spin. The reason for this result lies in the fact that the Schwinger energy momentum tensor and the canonical one have different symmetry properties in the presence of the Chern-Simons term.展开更多

In the previous paper, we show that the Chern-Simons Higgs equation with parameter A 〉 0 has at least two solutions (uλ^-, uλ^2) for A sufficiently large, which satisfy that uλ^1 - -u0 almost everywhere as λ →∞, and that uλ^2 →-∞ almost everywhere as λ→∞, where u0 is a (negative) Green function on M. In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions as λ →∞, and prove that uλ^2 - uλ^2- converges to a solution of the Kazdan-Warner equation if the geodesic curvature of the boundary OM is negative, or the geodesic curvature is nonpositive and the Gauss curvature is negative where the geodesic curvature is zero.展开更多
